IZA:  I thought maybe really young kittens could some parts lessons, so I asked TBT ta help.  So here goes...

Licking...   Well, OK, that's not a "part" but its what the tongue is for.

Nosie...

Chin...

Eye (usually one of two)...

And a Being...

Dont be scared by that last one.  Most Beings are better-looking than mine; I just had bad luck.  You can't always get the better-looking ones.  Some are downright scary-looking.  Hint:  "Moms" are usually better-looking than "Dads".

New Camera Comments

AYLA:

Well, we sure got some inneresting comments about the new camera.  So, since *I* posted about it, TBT said I should respond ta them.  That was earlier this afternoon, but I was takin a nap then.  But Im up now so...

First, the one thing the camera cant do is take a picture of itself, so here is what it looks like.




Summer said "that delayed flash thing means the camera was old, old old!".  Yeah, but the new one isn't much faster.

Megan said "As for her game of Retrieve - I have to ask: is she planning on morphing into a woofie any time soon?"  Well, Iza is a Tonkinese and they DO have some "woofie-ish" habits.  She follows TBT everywhere for example.  And retrieves tossed toys.  And sleeps next to him all night.  Its almost embarassing.  On the other paw, she gets a lot more scritchies, food, laptime, and toy-toss time, so mebbe she isnt quite as dumb as she seems.  NO, Im NOT jealous.  Much.  much...

The MeezerMews said "At least the old camera didn't die a traumatic death like meowmy's furst camera."  Ha-Ha, TBTs cameras all die horribly.  The previous one got pounded on a table until it died, the one before was left out in the rain, and the one before THAT we I pushed off the half-wall and down the stairs until it stopped working.

Punapippuri said "We have the problem with bad lighting indoors now and not much more light outside, so low light stuff is really important."  TBT learned today that he CAN force the camera ta flash, but it takes a couple menu steps to force that.  Which he finds annoying because sometimes he  WANTS light reflections and he doesnt remember instructions too good.

The Whiskeratti said "Mom mostly uses her smartphone camera to take pics of us. She also has a Nikon Coolpix with a neat pet photo setting - push the button and it takes three pics in a row of each shot". We dont have a smartphone.  Just the one-thing cordless phone.  But he did find neat features like "Burst" that takes endless pictures in a row, and stuff fer low-light, snow (he is still trying ta figure that one out), long exposure, etc.  This camera actually does quite a lot.  If you can remember how ta get to the features in the menu.  I figure TBT has a snowballs chance in heck of remembering how...

Flynn said "My mum wants to get a new point and shoot because there are black marks appearing in the photos".  We had pale white circles on the last camera.  TBT kept cleaning the lens until he realized they were only in some pictures but not in nearly identical others.  So it was some digital warp.  We hope this one doesn't do that.  But it would be nice if the camera didnt make all our floors look dirty (koff, koff)!

Brian said "New cameras take some time to learn".  Only if the user isnt as dumb as a duck.  TBT says "point and shoot" means "point and shoot, no menus".

Cara N Crew said "her new flashy box is red too for similar reasons yet she still manages to "mislay" it".  Yeah, I bet he goes "red-blind" real quick and wont be able ta find the new camera soon.  I even bet that even though he keeps it in his pocket from wake-up to bedtime, he manages ta lose it within a month.  It will be out in the toolshed or down in the basement and he will wander around aimlessly fer an hour looking fer it.  MOL!

Pilch said "I hope TBT was able to find a deal on the new camera with all the sales this time of year".  Of course not.  He bought it last week and has already seen it 50 green papers cheaper today (while getting the picture used above).  He has the timing talent of a broken clock...

Tonk's Tale said "Well, WE say that a new camera to show off your best side is TOP priority".  Well, I suppose iffen TBT HAS to take pictures of me us, they might as well be good ones...

Freaky Friday - Camera Change

AYLA:  The camera is dead; long live the new camera!  We are going to be a bit out of order with the pictures fer a few days because we wanted ta post about this today.  But TBT has a new camera and WE are gonna esplain why cuz he probly wouldnt if left to hisself!

Ya see, he has been gettin annoyed by how slow the old camera was about taking flashie pictures.  Ya may have noticed that we show mainly still shots with none of us movin.  Thats cuz the camera gets the slows fer about 5 seconds when it decides it needs the flashie ta help it. 

Which frustrated TBT a WHOLE lot cuz sometimes he never knows when the picture will be taken after he pushes the button.  So a few nights ago, when Iza was doing her "fetch and return trick", TBT was tryin ta get pictures of that an just COULDNT.  Every time he tried ta take a picture of her "oh-so-cutely" (GAG) carryin a tossed mousie back ta him, he couldn't get the camera to respond.

So when he set the camera down on the table "just a tiny bit hard" (koff, koff) right on the stuck-out lens, IT decided it was tired of HIM and it committed "stuckicide and refused to operate anymore.

This is the last picture it ever took; Iza standing next to the toy she dropped at his feet...

So TBT did what he had to do; buy a new camera...  He could have gotten one of those fancy cameras, but we suspect HE KNOWS he is too simple ta operate them.  So he went to Consumer Reports  and looked fer the best few subcompact point-and-shoot types.   He found that the response time was part of "ease of use", and they had a couple rated best fer both that and image quality.  Then he looked up THOSE at a camera site and Amazon to see if there were important negative comments.  There weren't. 

So he decided on a Canon SX600 HS.  It came in silver, black, and red, and he figured he could find a red easiest.  So we have a new red camera. 

TBT is not utterly thrilled.  It has a pop-up flash (why would anyone do THAT - it requires pushing a slide button on the side)?  And you cant FORCE it to flash.  There is only auto and off. 

So, annyway, here is the first picture he took with the new camera. 

It seems to werk well enough though, and he says he figures he will get used to it.

But we have existing pictures ta use and TBT says not to waste decent pictures (week old, max).  So we will be using those until we catch up.  Forgive us; it gets US a few days rest from pictures...

Happy Thanksgiving Day

Well, its Thanksgiving Day here, and we are indeed thankful.

We are thankful fer our house and yard which apparently we will get to stay in.

We are thankful fer good food and sunny places ta sleep.

We are thankful fer tossed toys and scritches.

We are thankful fer our friends and readers.

We are thankful fer each other (usually).

We are thankful fer TBT who takes such good care of us...

Werdless Wensday

Tuesday Pawty!

Well, TBT has looked at places to move to.  And he has decided the best place for us to be in is...

Right here, not moving, staying in place!  The Green House, right where we are now, no relocation, etc...

He will be explaining on his own blog, but WE get ta tell you all first the basic good news.  We arent gonna hafta learn a new house and yard at least fer a few years!

And some of yer comments HELPED!

We are throwin a small pawty!  There will be light foods and drinks.

They are all Nip-flavored.  Just choose a color.

TBT will also have kibbles in his pockets to toss around fer us all ta chase.  It's more fun than it may sound.  Ya gotta be quick.  TBT says it is sort of like Kitty Rugby!

Its not one of our full-blown pawties; just a happy-paws celebration that there is no Moving in the immediate future...

We Are Off Line

TBT is going to look at new properties to make us all happier, an it will be a few days.  We are not especially thrilled at the idea, but he says we will like it  a lot if he chooses a good place. 

Ack!  We are happy here.  But ya can't stop the Beins when they get an itch ta move, ya know?

So mainly, we might be off line fer some days while he looks around and we don't know fer how long.  But we'll be back...  We just aren't sure when.

Monday Surprise

IZA:  Warning, there is a dead bird in this post.  But we dint kill it...

A sparrow comitted birdicide on our deck door yesserday.  TBT an us heard a thump and ran over ta look, but we dint see it.  Well, MOST times when they hit the door, they can still fly away.  This one dint.  But it was well hidden among the leafs.

But then I did see it after lunch an pulled it off the leafs.

It dint move.  And smelled air temperature.  

I poked it a few times hopefully...

I tossed it around a couple times and pulled on a few fevvers.  But it wasnt really very inneresting.  An I wasnt hungry enough ta mess with the fevvers.

So TBT tossed it over the fence...  Might as well make some possum happy.

Not Easy Like Sunday

We dont have anything to show today.  Ya see, TBT has been using the M word a lot lately and apparently we dont have much say in the matter.  So we can only hope his hopes of Moving fail.

Which is not good fer us Mews ta think, but we do.   But he says there would be more moles, so mebbe that would be good.

Freaky Friday

TBT surprised us today!  He brought out the Evil Puzzle Box.  We had forgotten completely about it. 

So we were all "What's this?  Marley remembered!

Then he picked it up an put kibbles inside.  Oh, OK.  But Marley went nutso.  Hes crazy fer kibbles.

He jammed his paws right in!  Well, OK, I get the food part.  But then I realized it was a game.  

 I prepared with a thorough licking.    Ya gotta look yer best at games...

But it seems I was a bit late.  Marley hadn't done his licking first and went right AT it.   Hmmm....

There weren't many left by the time I joined.  But its OK, TBT says he will refill it later.  An Ayla and I got the EGG full of kibbles too when Marley was feeling fat and happy off in the bedroom.

Actually it was worth missing out on some kibbles (Marley adores them a lot more than us girlcats) to see him go at the things.  His techniques WERE educational.

We will get our time at the puzzle box (TBT promises) when Marley is outside tomorrow.  Because Marley just WON'T share kibbles.  He is a LOT of good things, but NOT a kibble-sharer...

A Little Gift To TBT

IZA:  I was sittin on TBTs lap last night, nothing odd about that. 

But I felt like giving him a little Gift.  He likes ta collect our fallen-out whiskers.  So what the heck, I pushed one out. See it on his shirt?   So Ive done my good werk fer the week...

IZA:  TBT kept pushin me away when I tried ta type on the keyboard (cuz he was busy an wasnt paying attention ta ME).  So I decided the only thing ta do was nap right in front of him.

It wasnt easy.

There was nothing but hard stuff ta rest on.
