THE BIG THING: Ayla is in a quiet time between Heat cycles, Skeeter is out from under the bed and on my lap, and LC is quietly sitting by my feet. I feel so sorry for Ayla having to go through this every 6 weeks, Skeeter for his failing condition, and LC for never having learned the pleasure of a lap.
But I take the happiness of the moment and that all of us seem to be about as happy and restful as we can be. Sure, there is the thrill of catchin mice and chasin squirrels, of climbing trees and getting up on the house roof, but nothing matches the quiet times somehow.
There was the rare moment of both Skeeter and Ayla asleep on my lap and LC purring as close as she will ever allow herself to get to me. I will take that over any day I ever had at work or outside. Can the experience of "all cats purring" be exceeded?
I doubt it.
