Birthday Set with new printable from Sizzix

Hey crafty people out there,
I hope you had a beautiful week? It´s reeeeeaaaally hot here in Germany the last days and it will be for the next week. But I can´t stop crafting? Are you with me? ;)

On the Sizzix Facebook Site you can find a link to a new awesome set of free pattern to print at home. I printed them on Vellum and I loooooove how it turned out. All the little cute hearts, it´s so lovely. :) And be sure to follow Sizzix on Facebook to get the newest infos and a loooot of crafty inspirations. But ok, you wanna see what I made with this printable? Scroll down. ;)

We are invited to a birthday party tonight and I can´t wait to give this cute birthday set to the birthdaygirl. A card is an absolutely MUST for birthdays and because she will get a voucher, I made a fitting box with the Big Shot Plus Starter Kit.

The list of supplies:

Cardstock, sentiment stamps, needle and some twine, felt, vellum to print the pattern on

I love that the butterfly on the card could sit on the flower on the box. ;) I used felt for the flower and the butterfly to create a little more depth and structure on this birthday set.

I thought it´s a little bit boring just to glue the die cuted circles on the card, so I took some twine and a needle to add a cute element.

Do you like this set? And what about the Sizzix pattern? I think it´s perfect for so many reasons. I think I will make some wedding cards with it in the future.

Have a nice weekend everybody, xo Julia

Foxhead pincushion and small bag in one.

Hi there. So happy you came to check out my Sunday project.
This week I had some fun with a recently released die from the 'Woodland creatures' collection by Debi Potter. It's a cute fox face. I used it to embellish a small bag that I will use for my sewing yarns. At first I was going to give it as a present to my god daughter but in the end I decided to make something else for her...

I used the Bigz die to diecut the pieces for the fox's head from heavy felt. The Bigz dies are wonderful for cutting almost any craft material that is a little heavier.

I stitched together two round pieces of felt to make a round purse. I left a piece open at the top.
I assembled the foxhead and stitched around the edges. I used some black floss to make the eyes and nose. Finally I added a white button so I will be able to close the bag after I put my embroidery wool inside it. -And the good thing is it doubles as a cute pincushion as well :-)

 One more close up.
I know I will use my Bigz dies with felt or other materials more often. This was great fun!!!

Thanks for taking a look.
Next Sunday I will be here again and I hope I'll see you here as well <3
I used this die:

A fabric cover for my patchwork folder

Thanks  this new adventures with Sizzix , I needed something to schedule my projects. I love notebooks and then I decided to try one of the applique dies .
Heart is one of my favourite , so I planned a fabric cover for a folder I had bought for it.

I´m in love with  Lecien prints, they are so romantic and so beautiful that I couldn ´t  resist to one of the last collections called " Flower Sugar" , do you know it ?
I choose the white and the blue one with some of my linen to make my fabric cover.

Supply List :

656335   Sizzix Bigz Die - Hearts, Primitive

Binder  ( mine is 8.5"x 9 3/4 " )
White, ecru or cream  linen 10"x11"
Flower Sugar fabric by Lecien ( white background) :
 13" x 11" for the cover
 2" x 23" for a part of the lining
1"x 11" sewing in one the flaps
Flower Sugar fabric by Lecien ( blue background ) :
9.5"x 23" for the lining
6" x 3.5" for the heart
23"x 11" batting
fusible fleece
11" x 0.5 " white lace
Ribbon
Buttons
Frixion pen

I have took the size of my binder before. You must to adjust your size to yours. All the measures I give you  include seams.
First  sew the linen with the white fabric and  lay  the lace between them. Press and  handwrite the message with Frixion pen ( for the love of patchwork  ) . Onto the wrong side put the batting and do the   quilting. You can clean the pen just iroining over it.

Now go for the heart using the Big Shot machine and the Heart die. I have chose the big one. Don´t forget to iron the double fusible on the back  side of the blue fabric. Center the heart using a template before and pin.
Cut and iron on the linen.

Sew around the heart with the same colour thread  you used in the quilting . The ribbon must be down before sewing.
On the right side of the linen stitch a fabric strip  ( 1"x 11" ) with a decorative stitch. This will be in the left flat.
Take a look to the pictures to  make an idea.

Sew the blue fabric with the other white and you will have the lining .
Lay right side together, lining and cover , and sew around  leaving without sewing a little.
Turn the right side and finish by hand.
Do the flats  ( 2" width each one) and sew top and bottom

Now do the finishing adding the ribbon to close and tie and maybe some button if you want.

And here it is my practical journal where I do my plans, ideas , take notes, pics of the finished projects , and everything  just done with Sizzix Dies !!!!

I hope this will be a good idea to have all your projects keep in a nice place , ready to use, check and do

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!
Love
Mercedes

..................................................................************* ..................................................................

Mercedes

Life is a canvas - paint on it!
Scrapbooking page by Janna Werner.

Hello everyone, this is Janna. Today I am sharing a scrapbooking page. The title means "Life is a canvas, paint on it" and the journaling is about my desire to use more paint and colors in my work.

Material list:
655268 Sizzix Big Shot machine
655098 Sizzix Accessory - Extended Spacer Platform
657846 Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders - Bubble & Honey Comb
658289 Sizzix Framelits Die Set/Stamps - Banners
and any shape dies, for example
squares, circles, flowers and hearts & stars
cardstock: American Crafts, Stampin´Up
alphas: American Crafts
glitter paper, patterned paper, crepe paper, ink, stamp: Stampin´Up
spray: Studio Calico
twine: Garn und Mehr
other: washi tape, pen, sewing machine, pencil

Instead of using the embossing die with the Big Shot machine, I put the paper into the die and pressed with my fingers. This creates a decent and subitle structure.

As you can see, I also used the negative shapes from the banners, heart and circle. I don´t like to waste beautiful supplies, so these can be used as great style elements as well.

Have a great and crafty day, everyone!
Janna

Materialliste:
655268 Sizzix Big Shot machine
655098 Sizzix Accessory - Extended Spacer Platform
657846 Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders - Bubble & Honey Comb
658289 Sizzix Framelits Die Set/Stamps - Banners
alle möglichen Formen, z.B.
squares, circles, flowers und hearts & stars
Cardstock: American Crafts, Stampin´Up
Alphas: American Crafts
Glitter Paper, Patterned Paper, Crepe Paper, Tinte, Stempel: Stampin´Up
Spray: Studio Calico

Quick gift decoration with Janna Werner.

Hello everyone, this is Janna with a quick and sweet gift decoration that fits nearly any occasion.

supply list:
655268 Sizzix Big Shot machine
655098 Sizzix Accessory - Extended Spacer Platform
654558 Sizzx Accessory - Decorative Strip Cutting Pad
658613 Sizzix Framelits Die Set - Wrappers, Circle
657691 Sizzix Bigz Die - Heart, Stem & Leaves
cardstock: American Crafts, Stampin´ Up
ribbon, stamp, brad, patterned paper: Stampin´ Up
ink: Tsukineko
rhinestone: Kaisercraft
glas: Ikea

If you´d like to give a small present to someone, but don´t have a lot of time to prepare an elaborately decorated gift, this decoration might be the right fit. I used the Sizzix Framelits Die Set - Wrappers, Circle with a white cardstock and a patterned paper. I adhered the patterned paper in the back of the white cardstock so it shows a little bit through. I used the Sizzix Bigz Die - Heart, Stem & Leaves to create the heart shape, stamped onto it and punched holes around it. Adhering the twine onto the heart was the most time consuming part - the thicker the thread, the longer it takes. If you use thick thread, make sure to not punch the holes too close to the edge as the paper might break.

I used dimensional foam dots to glue the heart to the wrapper, then I added a rhinestone as a highlight and ribbon on the top part of the glas. The final step was to attach the brad on top of the knot, this might be a bit tricky, but looks really nice. All in all this decoration might take 25-35 minutes.

Have a great and crafty day, everyone!

Materialliste:
655268 Sizzix Big Shot machine
655098 Sizzix Accessory - Extended Spacer Platform
654558 Sizzx Accessory - Decorative Strip Cutting Pad
658613 Sizzix Framelits Die Set - Wrappers, Circle
657691 Sizzix Bigz Die - Heart, Stem & Leaves
Cardstock: American Crafts, Stampin´ Up
Band, Stempel, Klammer, Patterned Paper: Stampin´ Up
Tinte: Tsukineko
Glitzerstein: Kaisercraft
Glas: Ikea

Love cards from Janna Werner

Hello everyone, my name is Janna Werner. I am a 34 year old full-time artist from Germany and this is my first post on the Sizzix blog. I am very excited to be here and hope to inspire you with my modern-experimental (scrapbooking) style.

Today I´d like to share three cards that I created with patterned paper and emebellishments from Crate Paper, as well as with some of my favorite Sizzix dies.

supply list:
655268 Sizzix Big Shot machine
656624 Sizzix On The Edge Die - Scrollwork
656638 Sizzix Bigz Die - Heart Wings
656641 Sizzix  Movers & Shapers Die - Ornamental
657188 Sizzix Bigz Die - Tiny Tabs & Tags
paper: Crate Paper
embellishments: Crate Paper
other: sewing machine, adhesive, white Cardstock (American Crafts)

Here you can see each of the cards:

On this card I used the Heart Wings and the Tiny Tabs & Tags dies, definitely two of my favorite dies. Instead of using the posisitve of the Heart Wings die, I took the negative shape and adhered a piece of patterned paper in the back.

For this card I used the Movers & Shapers Die - Ornamental, cut it in two part and put those on top of each other, using a sewing machine to adhere them.

The last card was made by using the On The Edge Die - Scrollwork and, again, adding stitching for highlightening that part.

Have a great and crafty day, everyone!

Materialliste:
655268 Sizzix Big Shot machine
656624 Sizzix On The Edge Die - Scrollwork
656638 Sizzix Bigz Die - Heart Wings
656641 Sizzix  Movers & Shapers Die - Ornamental
657188 Sizzix Bigz Die - Tiny Tabs & Tags
Papier: Crate Paper
Embellishments: Crate Paper
