Happy Birthday Long Label Card

Hi everyone! Today I have an easy card to share with you using the Sizzix Long Labels Thinlits Die #659131 and Darkroom Door Stamps!

The Long Labels dies are perfect for adding sentiments to cards! I know I'll be using this die a lot! Here's how I made this card:

1. Stamp the Darkroom Door Swirls Background onto light purple cardstock using Archival Deep Purple ink pad. Sponge the same ink around the edges using an ink blending tool. Adhere to green cardstock and then onto a folded dark purple card.
2. Die cut a label from the Long Labels #659131 Thinlits die set using green cardstock.
3. Stamp a sentiment from the Darkroom Door Simple Sayings stamp set using Archival Deep Purple inkpad. Adhere to the centre of the card to complete!

How simple is that! But the ornate ends of this die make it so beautiful. I love how these dies are great to use up left over pieces of card stock too, so you could die cut a lot of labels in advance just using left overs and have them on hand already when you need to make a card.

Hope you've enjoyed today's card! Thanks for stopping by!

Everyday card by Gerry van Gent

Hello Sizzix friends!
It`s Sunday and I am ready to share with you my latest
card created with two of the recently released Thinlits dies.
If you need to make a quick surprise card for
your best friend all you need is .... two awesome dies :-)

659127 Sizzix Thinlits Dies Frame Layers & Flower #2
659131 Sizzix Thinlits Dies Labels, Long

*    *    *

As a base of my card I used a double round card from white cardstock
which has almost the same diameter as the inner (yellow-white) die-cut circle.
I left the round double card 1/2 cm bigger so I can adhere
round the edges the scallop die-cut circle.
I die cut the Frame Layers & Flower #2 twice using
two different pattern papers.
Best Friend 1
The Long label was die cut from the same pattern paper as
the scallop circle. On top I added the phrase - I used foam squares
for more dimension. Then I fussy cut a few patterns.
Pearls and twine were added for decoration.

OTHER PRODUCTS I USED:

I hope you enjoyed my card today!
Have a beautiful Sunday!

the never ending usefulness of hexagons

Firstly - a huge thank you to everyone for your fantastic comments and suggestions for storage on my post last week. I've got a list of things to go and check out in Ikea this week and at the weekend I've got more shelves going up. It'll still be a while until I'm fully moved in, but I've got some great ideas - thanks to you guys on how to keep it all organised. I knew I could rely on you!

Amy suggested I label everything so I can find things easily, which is something I could make a start on this week.

I use jars and buckets and pots to hold things in where I work right now (the dining room and kitchen), and although I know what should go in which pot I'm not very good at keeping it that way and things get mixed up (which means I spend an hour looking for something because it's in the wrong pot).

Using the 1.25" hexagon die (of course - that's my favourite!) I cut some labels from a sticky backed chalkboard vinyl and I'm sticking them on everything (I got the chalkboard vinyl from ebay, but you could find it in any craft store I think).

making labels

I've written what should be in the pot using a chalkboard marker instead of chalk, because they do work better and don't rub off as easily (but are easily removed with a damp cloth). One A4 sized sheet cut 8 labels, with a couple of smaller bits leftover, that I'll be able to get 2 more hexagons out of. The vinyl cost me a couple of pounds, so I've got 10 labels for about £2, which I can use again and again by wiping off the marker and writing something else on if I want to.
It was also really enjoyable cutting something other than fabric with my Big Shot - but it has made me want to stick hexagon labels EVERYWHERE!!!

labelled!

gold, silver and white - scrapbooking page with Janna Werner.

Hello everyone, it´s Janna here. After last week´s colorful scrapbooking page, I am back with a gold, silver and white color combination. It is definitely one of my favorite combinations as it adds an elegant touch to each project.

Material list:
655268 Sizzix Big Shot machine
655098 Sizzix Accessory - Extended Spacer Platform
657691 Sizzix Bigz Die - Heart, Stem & Leaves
657846 Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders - Bubble & Honeycomb
656363 Sizzix Framelites Dies - Labels, Wavy
658552 Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Stripes - Stacked Artful Words
cardstock: Bazzill, Stampin´Up
vellum: Stampin´Up, Dear Lizzy
journaling card: Skipping5
glitter foil: American Crafts
spray: Heidi Swapp
clip: Crate Paper
wood veneer: Studio Calico
other: masking tape, sewing machine, white thread, glue, photo, black pen, paint brush

This clean and simple page can easily be recreated. Add a piece of masking tape on top of the page. Then use a paint brush and golden spray to add splatters. Let the splatter dry before you continue.

Cut a piece of gold dotted vellum and place it in the middle of your page. Then put a journaling card and a piece of white, embossed cardstock on top of the vellum. I used a honeycomb pattern to emboss the white cardstock. Instead of running it through my Big Shot, I pressed it very hard with my hands. Like this the pattern will be more decent.

Cut an oval out of vellum and glue the title on top of it. Add a bit of stitching, if you like (see photo above). The vellum will be adhered on top of the journaling card. The photo will be decorated with a clip. To make sure, it will stay in place, glue the photo on top of the white, embossed cardstock and add glue on the backside of the clip as well. Embellish the page with silver leaves and wood veneer and you are done!

I hope you enjoyed today´s inspiration. Take care and see you next thursday!

*****

Materialliste:
655268 Sizzix Big Shot machine
655098 Sizzix Accessory - Extended Spacer Platform
657691 Sizzix Bigz Die - Heart, Stem & Leaves
657846 Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders - Bubble & Honeycomb
656363 Sizzix Framelites Dies - Labels, Wavy
658552 Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Stripes - Stacked Artful Words
Cardstock: Bazzill, Stampin´Up
Vellum: Stampin´Up, Dear Lizzy
Journaling-Karte: Skipping5
Glitzerfolie: American Crafts
Spray: Heidi Swapp
Clip: Crate Paper
Wood Veneer: Studio Calico
