You make me happy with watercolors

Hey everyone,
today I have a card for you that I made with a lot of watercolors. I can´t get enough of my watercolors. I´m a graphic designer and part of my studies were illustration. And my personal favorite medium to create illustrations was watercolor. You see, every last word in my sentences is "watercolor". :D So, just have a look at my card. I really hope you like it.

Most of my projects including a lot of pink, but for this card I tried a little bit of more blue to get an other feeling for it. I love how it turned out with the pop of purple. Can you see it?

Here is my list of supplies I used:
Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit (White & Gray) #660515
Sizzix Accessory - Standard Magnetic Platform for Wafer-Thin Dies #656499
Sizzix Accessory - Cutting Pads, Standard, 1 Pair (Mint) #660522
Sizzix Thinlits Die - Happy Birds #660497
White Cardstock, Sequins, Watercolors and a Brush

Thank you for stopping by and have a nice weekend. :) xo Julia

Hello crafter,
Today is a special day, it' s the birthday of someone important.
Secret gift needs a small box that is different from the usual greetings.
So I thought I would take one to be built.

I searched among the Sizzix dies and I found one that I really liked and so I used one half.

NECESSARY:
cardstock or paper scrap
stick glue
hot glue
cotton thread
scissors

I also had lots fun to use the new brush pad .. !!

When someone is special it's always important to tell him.

See you next project!

*per i lettori italiani*

Ciao crafter,

OCCORRENTE:
cartoncini colorati o carta scrap
colla stick
colla a caldo
filo di cotone
forbici

Having fun with Balsa wood!

Hi everybody!

Have you ever wondered how you can die cut wood with Big Shot?

Today I want to tell how I like to do; I use balsa wood with Bigz dies. But there’s another surprise: also is possible to texture it with the embossing folders with fantastic results (And I love that!).

With all of this, I created three handmade cards that can be used on many occasions. Want to know how I done?

First I created a background with the Distress Ink and water technique you’ve often seen, but in this occasion I’m using Archival Ink, and alcohol.

I'm using the Bigz die with Texture Fades Buttterfly duo, it's beautiful! And in this case (the card in the center) I'm applying Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and Mustard Seed Distress Stickles.

Some details of my die cut balsa wood cards

As you saw in the step by step, Sizzix products I'm using in this projects are:

be happy!!

---------------

Scrapbooking page with Sizzix BS Starter Kit by Janna Werner.

Hello, it´s Janna here. Today I´d like to share a scrapbooking page on which I used the dies that come with the Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit.

The Starter Kit includes
  • Big Shot (+ standard cutting pads and multipurpose platform)
  • 1 Bigz die (Basic Shapes)
  • 2 Medium Sizzlits dies (Butterfly, Delicate; Flowers #20)
  • 1 Framelits die set (Basic Shapes)
  • 1 A2 Large Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Dotted Lattice)
  • 10 Assorted Samples of Core’dinations Cardstock

I am a huge (huuuge) Washi Tape addict - no question that this had to be documented :-) I wanted the page to be happy, cheer- and playful, a bit crazy, messy and smash-style. I think I managed the messy part quite well ;)

Material list:
658300 Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit
cardstock: Bazzill
patterned paper: Studio Calico, Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper, Echo Park Paper, Teresa Collins, Crate Paper
spray: October Afternoon, Studio Calico
alphabet: American Crafts
stickers: Simple Stories, Dear Lizzy for American Crafts
stamps: Evalicious, Elle´s Studio, Amy Tangerine for American Crafts
rub-ons: Pink Paislee, Dear Lizzy for American Crafts
washi tape: mt masking tape
flags: Basic Grey
tags: Elle´s Studio
other: modelling paste, scraper, sewing machine + yarn, scissors, pen, glue

I took a lot of detail shots so you can see how I incorporated the shapes that I cut with the dies from the starter kit. I used the hearts, butterfly (from the Bigz die), circles and flower.

I own various butterfly dies (please click here to find more Sizzix butterfly dies), but the one you see above is definitely one of my favorite ones. I like that it is a rather clean shape with soft edges.

The page consists of lots of layers - as you can see above and below, I stacked the embellishments on top of each other to create texture and depth.

The scraps from the die-cuts can be used as a stencil and/or mask: put it on top of the page and spray onto it, for example. This is a cheap but very effective way of using the supplies you got.

I really really enjoyed working with the Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit as you have so many options and ways of using the dies. Furthermore the included shapes fit nearly any theme and can be used for other papercrafting projects as well - the butterfly would be beautiful on an origami box, for example.

That´s it from me today, see you next thursday. Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely day - wherever you are.

Hallo, Janna hier.

  • 2 Medium Sizzlits Dies (Butterfly, Delicate; Flowers #20)
  • 1 Framelits Die Set (Basic Shapes)
  • 1 A2 Large Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Dotted Lattice)
  • 10 Assorted Samples Core’dinations Cardstock
