I started by gluing 4 small pictures on a beige background. I chose a mix of black&white and colour pictures.

I printed several floral-patterned stamps on my paper and I colorized them afterwards.

I cut some leaves out of 4h37 pattern paper and added some stickers to complete my background.

Two pink hearts are cut with my Big Shot. I underlined their inside edges with a thin-tipped black pen. Then they are glued with 3D adhesive foam for more volume.

The title “Hello Boy” is made of stickers and letters made with my favourite alphabet Fresh Blossoms. The three letters XXL are cut out of 4h37 paper scraps.

Then simply add some splashes realized with white ink spray and insert some pretty resin flowers as a finishing touch.

J'ai commencé par coller mes 4 petites photos sur un fond de page beige, j'ai opté pour un mix de photos en noir et blanc et couleur.

Mon papier est ensuite tamponné de plusieurs motifs florals que j'ai ensuite colorisé.

Des feuilles découpées dans un imprimé 4heures37, des autocollants viennent compléter mon fond.

Deux coeurs roses sont découpés à la Big Shot, l'intérieur est souligné avec un stylo noir fin. Les motifs sont ensuite montés en 3D pour plus de relief.

Le titre “Hello Boy” est composé d'une première partie en autocollant, pour la seconde j'ai utilisé mon alphabet fétiche le Fresh Blossoms. Les trois lettres XXL sont découpées dans des chutes de papier 4heures37.

Complétez simplement avec quelques éclaboussures réalisées à l'encre en spray blanche et de jolies fleurs en résine.

This is a lay-out for all those who always lack alphabets like me! Sizzix has the perfect alphabet for you! With its modern font, it can be used again and again in every kind of project to have trendy titles!

I started by gluing my small picture size 6x8cms. I added some small cut flowers as embellishments, masking tape strips and stickers.

Each letter is cut out of pattern paper scraps. I chose bucolic colours: green, turquoise blue, yellow and pink.

Each letter is then glued with a glue stick (like the ones used at school). Sewing comes afterwards but only for decoration purposes, they are not fixing my letters to my background paper.

Be careful not to use double-sided tape! It could ruin your sewing machine!

The word LOVE is cut out of the Original Die-Phrase, Love #3 set.

Une page pour toutes celles comme moi toujours en manque d'alphabets !Sizzix a l'alphabet qu'il vous faut !Une typo passe partout et moderne pour des titres toujours dans la tendance !

J'ai commencé par coller ici ma petite photo au format 6x8cm, j'ai ajouté quelques petites fleurs découpées en guise de décoration, des bouts de Masking Tape et des autocollants.

Chaque lettre est découpée dans une chute de papier imprimé, je suis partie sur un combo bucolique à savoir : vert, turquoise, jaune et rose.

Chaque lettre est ensuite collée avec de la colle bâton scolaire, les points de couture sont ajoutés ensuite mais seulement pour décorer, ils ne servent pas à fixer mes lettres.

Attention : Veillez à ne pas utiliser de double face ! Au risque de mettre en péril votre machine à coudre !

Le mot Love est découpé dans le die Original Die-Phrase, Love #3.

Christmas Week 2 with Karine

It is the Christmas tag’s week at Sizzix! Here is what I have done. I chose a glittery and natural combo which makes me think of the end-of-the-year celebrations :-)

I didn’t want to create a classic tag for a change. So I selected a kraft bag and I had fun decorating it :-)

I started by cutting out large banners out of note paper (with the die Banners).

The beautiful large snowflake is cut out of white cardstock and shaded with Distress Vintage Photo ink to give it an aged aspect.

The various elements are assembled and glued with double-sided tape.

Small hearts are added as a finishing touch. They bring sparkle to the creation. They are cut out of American Crafts glitter paper; I just can’t stop using this paper these days!

So here is my small tag (not that much small, isn’t it?) realized in a New-York’s minute!

Pour changer et ne pas partir sur un tag classique, j'ai opté pour une pochette en kraft que je me suis amusée à décorer :)

J'ai d'abord découpé des larges bannières avec le die Banners dans du papier musique.

Le grand et beau flocon est découpé dans du cardstock blanc, il est ensuite ombré à l'encre Distress Vintage Photo pour lui donner un aspect vieilli.

Les divers éléments sont ensuite assemblés et collés au double face.

Des petits coeurs sont ajoutés en touche finale et ajoutent une touche de brillance, ils sont découpés dans du papier paillettes American Crafts dont je ne peux me passer !

Et voilà un petit tag pas si petit que ça réalisé en quelques minutes !

A rainbow necklace made with shrink plastic and a Bigz banner dies

A few weeks ago I shared a necklace I made using the Prima Love Gears in this blog. I was one of my favorite projects I have done and today I would like to share another necklace project but this time with a very different look.

I used Sizzix Bigz Pennats die 659739, a Big Shot, shrink plastic either in frosted or clear, Versamagic ink pads in different light colours, a 3/16" whole Punch, jump rings, heat gun, link chain and if possible jewelry tools.

I started by die cutting the banners.  One of the beauties of Bigz dies is that you can cut pretty much anything you can cut with scissors, so two layers of shrink plastic is no problem, so with one go I die cut 12 banners. A part from time saving, die cutting makes sure than all are exactly the same, which is very important when you want a handmade look not a homemade look. I placed them in a row to make sure that the right mix of shapes in the "right" order.

I made a template to place the wholes in all the banners. The holes are about 5mm from top and left/right edges. I used the template to punch out each hole in all banners. I place the ink pads in order so I would know which ones to use in which order.

 I colored each banner separately on a piece of scrap paper. This is important since if ink gets to the other side will show later. Then I placed it on a heat resistant surface and heat it up with a heat gun. If you font have one, you could always use the oven with very low heat, but follow the shrink plastic manufacturers instructions!

I love watching the shrink plastic get all curly and more curly. It looks that it is all going wrong, but you just need persevere to keep the heat on.

Once that it looks pretty even, still is very hot, so if you would like to flatten it use a acrylic block or any heat resistant flat object.

On the left you can see how they look colored and shrinked beside the original size. On the right, you can see all the coloured banners.

One of the things you need to consider with shrink plastic is that the colour intensifies, so some may not look as you thought they would, like the pink and purple. So I redid them with a different ink pad to get the right hue. Once I was completely happy, I started to link them with jump rings.

OK, this step I recommend to do before than I did this. To preserve the color layer it is best to apply some sort of glaze all over the back of the banners. I like to use a clear gloss spray glaze from DecoArt and let them dry completely.

Open each jump ring with the help of two flat nose pliers or similar. Then I thread the banners  through the jump ring: right hole from one - left hole of the next one.

Once I had them all linked, I used a link chain and joined the ends. Finally I added a lobster clap in the middle.

And here it is, a rainbow banner necklace!

I love how colorful it is and how shinny looks.  I hope you do too!

Hi All!

Daria is here. And today for my post I created a layout! This layout is about my daughter. She was so sweet when she was a little girl. I love these photos.

I used light yellow cardstock, stencil with hearts and Pan Pastel to create background. And of course I used different dies to make my layout looks more interesting.

Сегодня я со страничкой о моей дочке. На этих фотографиях она еще совсем кроха, и такая сладкая! Для создания странички я использовала светло-желтый кардсток, трафарет с сердечками и pan pastel. Так же я использовала различные ножи, чтобы моя страничка выглядела интересней.

Для создания заголовков я использовала штампы из набора ножей Word Labels.
