Create & Craft Samples

What a fabulous time I have been having working with all the wonderful new dies in preparation for last Sundays Create & Craft show.  I have enjoyed every second of working with them and today want to share some of the samples I made for the show.

It is really hard to pick a favourite but I did adore working with the 3D Flower, it is one of those dies that you can use time and time again and get so many different results! These flowers were cut from felt and added to a hessian bag.

The Gazania and Plumeria from Susan's Garden are so beautiful and such fun to create.  These would be amazing to use with wedding stationary or decorations.

The Tim Holtz Stencilled Decorative Strip Alphabet was great to work with and a must have for any crafter wanting to add words to their creations. Here I added it to an acetate strip which gave the wording a 3D effect.

And of course, the ultra popular Tim Holtz Caged Bird which is great for so many different occasions and projects.

Well that is all from me.  If you have any questions about any of these designs or the others that I demonstrated on the show please let me know and I will do my best to help.

Until next time ...

Katie

  3. With the hot gun glue adhere the snowflake to the bag. add a pearl in the centre.
  4. Stamp and emboss the "have a jolly holiday" but this time cut only the phrase with the circle framelits.

I'm a Fossil Bag addict

Hello everyone!

Today, I'd like to show you a layout I made using my new favorite Framelits dies set : the Frames, Decorative #2 :)

You'll need for this layout :

I used the Decorative Frames Framelits to create the 3 cute labels on this layout. I used both the cut-out and the edges of the die-cuts, in order to create labels with 2 different patterned papers.

Isn't it cute?

The best way to use these Framelits is to cut into double-sided papers, so that you can choose which side you want to use on your layout!

Hope this inspired you!
Take care !

Wedding bag

Hi everyone!
Have a wonderful monday morning!!! How are you?
How did you spend your last weekend? I was at the sea with my family!

Today I want to share with you another lovely thing made for my friend's wedding!

This is a cute idea that we have used as an embellishment to put at the center of each table at the wedding party but it can be used as a wedding bag for the confetti :)

Materials you need:

Instructions:

  1. create your suitcase using your die and build it using double side tape.
  2. create a turquoise flower and close it with the hot glue
  3. cut two little stripes of kraft paper and glue them on the suitcase
  4. now add the rosette with a button and the tag with the name of the place ( in our situation of the travel made that will be the name of the table) and add the circle stamp to give a cool touch to the bag.
  5. add a tag with the date of the wedding
Very simple and easy.. we made 15 suitcases:)
The guest were so surprised.

I hope you like it :)
Have a wonderful week!
Love, Lory.

London Icons lunch bag

This week I decided to use some of the London icon fabrics to create a small bag.

I used 6 different fabrics plus a lining for the bag.
I cut 10 rectangles (die 657605) from 2 fabrics, and 5 squares (die 657607) from the other 4 fabrics.

I cut a strip, 41/2"x 14", from each of the first 2 fabrics for the handles.

I joined the pieces to make 5 stripes as shown ( I know there are only 4 shown, but you need to make 5) Press the seams, and then join each row to make a circle.

Join the 5 circles together to make a piece as shown below.

Cut the lining to the same size as the bag (don't forget the seam allowance).

Press the handle pieces in half down the length and press the edges into the middle.
Top stitch along the length of the handle.

Pin the  handle to the bag as shown, and repeat on other side.
Stitch the side seam of the lining and then join the lining to the bag along the top edge. ( Match the right side or the lining to the right side of the bag, the handles will be in between the layers, and stitch along the edge using 1/4" seam.)
Turn the bag right side out, and turn the bottonm edge of the lining in and top stitch.

I squared off the corners of my bag.

I stitched where the pins are, cut off the triangle and neatened the edge, and sewed through all layers.
The bag is now complete.
Which is more than I can say for my sewing room. The furniture is in place, just one shelf still to put up, but I dismantled my sewing area in the dining room and all of the things from that are now piled in the new room. I decided I couldn't put a photo of the disorganised heap - so I will just say that I hope to be organised enough to let you have a peep by the end of May.
For now I am going to help my youngest daughter decorate a 'princess cake' for her niece, my granddaughter, for a party this evening.

This is the dream of a 3 year old!
Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend.
