It's time for new Quirky Challenge, and this time it falls to me (Doris) make your imagination is translated into beautiful projects. The theme is Picnic / BBQ, you can choose one of the two suggestions and mix it or just choose a single topic. You must remember and use some of the elements that usually surround these activities, such as grill, tables for camping, picnic baskets, checkered tablecloths, ants (never fail). Let your imagination run wild. Our fabulous and generous sponsor for this challenge:
Here's mine! I made an easle card with 'table attachment' and went with a green table cloth in gingham, added sentiments, melons, baskets, ants and flowers from our sponsor Crackerbox Palace. The melon papers are from PinkPetticoat.

My first project is a picnic basket. It is decorated with images painted in watercolor pencil. Ants, watermelon and flowers, all provided by our fabulous sponsor Crackerbox Palace.
My second project is a Center Step Card. In this, I used, ants+melon_1.jpg, 4306+3+ants_1.jpg, picnic+table_1.jpg, grill_1.jpg, life+a+picnic_1.jpg. All provided for our sponsor Crackerbox Palace. Additional I used for Mr. Cook, a cutting file, and some grasses. I invite you to visit my blog, so you can find more images of these projects.

I coloured everything using Promarkers.
The knives, spoons and folks are Woodware brads.
(And no ants were harmed in the making of this card!)
For my first art journal page I used a 'spontaneous background' created when cleaning of my brushes and stamps. The Watermelon from Crackerbox Palace was coloured in using normal felt-tips (with a few gel-pen doodles), before being covered with strips of paper from a Mandarin poetry book. I redefined the watermelon and coloured those areas with Prismacolor pencils. Finally, I added a gel-pen quote and border (quote reads "Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it")
I started my second spread with a quick sketch - using two felt-tips I drew a picnic blanket kind of pattern before blending with a waterbrush. I coloured the flower (and dots) with Papermania Watercolour Markers and an orange Sakura Souffle pen. The ants were hand-doodled with a simple black pen, and the quote was added using Tipex (and outlined using a PITT pen).
These images are such fun to work with, I had a fight with the printer which made me late!
