Remember our fabulous sponsors for this challenge:

3rd Prize: £5 on Samaflora products

Here's a few more of our team's makes:

GUEST DESIGNERS

Image was coloured using Copics. I had the perfect Sizzix die for the shape of this lovely image and edged it with some pale pink Whispers ink.  I used some gauze behind and some die cut swirls. The backing card is from First Edition  'Love Letters' pad. The rose and ribbon to finish my hanging is from my stash.

And the Quirky Crafts team:

I used Hipster Goddess on my first card, she reminds me so much of what I thought I looked like in the early 70's (but didn't), I had the hot pants - I will tell you more about that on my blog! I tried to make her as psychadelic as possible with the colours and patterns.

I am working on a very special second card and will add it as soon as I am finished - it will be this evening!

This gorgeous young lady is Ashley, a friend of Unky's who has cancer and Unky is giving half the money from the sales of this image to her friend to fund her chemotherapy, how cool is that!
So I thought  would make my card about breast cancer, and I die cut the ribbon with a Sizzlet die, and added a sentiment using a Unity stamp, it says "Be brave, strong and courageous".

I used Unky's image 'Hipster Goddess' for our reminder post.  Watercolour crayons and a water brush were used to colour her in, then I fussy cut her.  The papers are from a Michaels paper pad called Boho Chic and I used my new Spellbinders Labels 25 too!

MONICA

For this week project, I used a Tina Fitch cut file, to make this gorgeous stargazer gate fold card.

As en every SECRET GARDEN, something is hidden inside.

Inside you will find this stunning digi "Aurora Poppy"  from our sponsor Unky.
For coloring the digi, I used a mix of Spectrum Noir pens and Prismacolor pencils.
I hope you have enjoy this challenge as much as I did.

For the reminder today, I chose to work Pinkrose. It is a beautiful image provided by UNKY, our sponsor. I worked with Spectrum Noir and in addition I added some flowers and a charm. I have to say that these images are fabulous and I really had fun working on them.
GEMMA

I have a confession to make.....I have fallen in love with the digi images provided to us this month by
our sponsor Unky - they are strikingly beautiful. I really did enjoy using them.
I made a journal page with the focal image being my Unky digi stamp. The background has been sprayed with Dylusions inks , and the image is coloured with Tim Holtz DistressMarkers.

I also added some crackle texture paste through a vine stencil to frame the page, adding some gilding
wax to give it a sheen.
I then sprayed some flowers the same colour as the background

I hope you have all enjoyed this challenge and the images as much as I have... X
 Lyn
Just got home and I'm not here! Where did I go!? But I'm sure no one noticed! Here's my card! I've used the digi Hanbo, along with some of my favourite Dovecraft papers. Mostly red, grey and black, so I've kept to those colours in the rest of my card. I even re-coloured the white and pink flowers with  a red Promarker. I've added black eyelash wool and red ribbon along with grey and black pearls and loads of Stickles Glitter glue and a black vinyle butterfly.
Inside I've continued with the same papers and added 'Just For You' and a Happiness sign....I think! (Perhaps you know better!) Go  HERE to join in this challenge!

Challenge #5 "The Secret Garden"

Hi Quirky friends, is my turn -Monica- to set the theme for this new challenge.
The first thing you have to do is to take a few minutes of your time, relax, take a big breath and watch this video, because this will be your inspiration:

This challenge is inspired in 1993´s movie "The Secret Garden", that  shows place full of flowers, in where you can hide away.
So your projects must show a lot of colorful flowers and that beautiful hidden place.

Our fabulous sponsors for this challenge are:

And we are thrilled to introduce a brand new very talented sponsor:

who has supplied our team with some fantastic digital images, which  we've showcased here.

1st Prize: £15 on Samaflora products
2nd Prize: 5 digital images from Unky
3rd Prize: £5 on Samaflora products

Here some inspiration from our Quirky Team:
GUEST DESIGNERS

PRINCESS

Ike used  Braided hair big eyed flower fairy to make a gorgeous card with a secret garden verse, and used a garden image as her background with some flowers and a butterfly, perfect for this challenge!
Ike also used  Braided hair big eyed flower fairy to make this gorgeous frame card and added lots of die cut foliage and insects, and the background has a pretty rainbow.

Karen used  "Flower Fairy and Birdie on her card, with an added bloom and background foliage on the paper.

And the Quirky Crafts team:
CAZZY

For my first card I used the gorgeous Aurora Cherry Blossom, and kept her to fresh subtle colours. I made my own cherry blossoms using dies I had and a punch in honour of Samaflora, and added them to the die cut frame. I haven't decided if I will add a sentiment yet!

My second card features Vintage Doll with Teddy (who is also available in a pre-coloured version), and she is sitting in a secret garden on her picnic rug.

CINDY
Cindy used "Flower Fairy and Birdie" on her twisted easel card.

DORIS

On this occasion I chose to work with the digital stamp  Braided hair big eyed flower fairy from our great sponsor UNKYI worked on one of my favorite colors: black, in different degradations. Also I painted the image with the Spectrum Noir and I put it on the bottom of the card frame. I also added paper flowers in bright colors, cardboard butterflies  and a sentiment that describes the meaning of My Secret Garden.
And finally this is the inside of my card.

GEMMA

I absolutely love the images we have for this weeks Challenge from Unky, they're beautiful.
I wanted to do something slightly different for this challenge, so I decided to make a journal from scratch.....

I chose several sheets of decorative and plain, heavy weight papers, cut them to size and decorated them in various ways. I sprayed some ink through a stencil, I added tags, made pockets, stamped images and some sentiments, just to personalise and add interest to the pages, but you can do whatever you want to do, to decorate your book.

To bind all of the pages together, I cut a strip of sticky canvas and cut a scalloped edge to each side, sprayed it with ink through a stencil, then held the pages tightly in one hand and applied the canvas to hold it securly.  I coloured the gorgeous UNKY image in with Twinkling H20s. It gives the image a delicate sparkle which  suited the fairy image......
Happy crafting.............xx

I've also used  Braided hair big eyed flower fairy from our sponsors UNKY. Coloured her with ProMarkers and green micro glitter. The paper's I've used are called 'Frabrications' and were freebies from a Crafting Magazine. A link to the free font, which I've used on the inside, is on my blog!

For my project I used this magical digi "Flower Fairy and Birdie" from our talented sponsor Unky -The East Wind-.
My perfect "Secret Garden" hideaway must have a beautiful gazebo surrounded with lots of flowers. That´s just what I´m trying to show in this card.
I used Spectrum Noir Pens to color the digi and Silhouette Cameo to make all the cutting work.

Challenge 13 - Hand made flowers and ribbons

Welcome back to a new challenge. My turn (Diane). This time I have gone for Hand Made Flowers with Ribbons. So I think that is probably self explanatory really.

I am looking for your entries to include Hand Made Flowers ( from punches, die cuts etc) with ribbons. Bought flowers and blooms are not allowed on your project, and if you use them you won't be included in the top three.

You can make anything you like from a card to a scrapbook page and anything else in between. Lots of scope there for you to have fun.

We are very lucky to have two sponsors this time:

who are giving our first place winner (chosen by our DT) this lovely prize of the latest Bev's Bag (available from the shop soon) of teddy bear ribbons.

PaperPrettiesBadgenew

who are giving the second place winner 6 digi images of their choice.

Here are the Design Team Examples using images supplied by Paper Pretties:-

Guest Designers:

Suzie used Fan-tastic Sophie and made a wonderful flower to match the designer printed paper on this stunning card.

Margreet used "1960" on her lovely vintage altered note book, and said: The flowers are die cut with a Doohickey die (Magnolia), as are the leaves, the roses on top are bought ones. We let Margreet off as she is our guest and we are happy to have this gorgeous make, but challenge entries must not include bought flowers or they will not be counted in the top three.

and the regular Design Team:

I used the "Flourette" image and one of the accompanying sentiments from our sponsor, this is so cute with the kitty stuck in the vase! I made my flowers with Nellie Snellen punches and embossers and added K & Co gems, and a little glitter glue. Image coloured with Promarkers. The dark card is actually plum not brown and matches the ribbon, all ribbons from Bev's Vintage Bag from Crafty Ribbons.

I have used "1960" from our sponsor to make this vintage tag. I used distress inks round the edge, coloured the image with promarkers and then attached a large number of small flowers punched out of basic grey paper. I also made my own rose-like flower from 5 punched flowers, coloured with distress ink, sprized with water, scrunched up and pinned together with a brad. I finished the tag off with pearls on the jacket and hat, and the ribbon attached witha brad.

I used Butterfly Blossoms from our sponsor, which I printed out twice so I could do a bit of 3D-ing. I made my flowers using Woodware punches and coloured with a crimson promarker to match the colour used on the card, then added Stickles Glitter. Paper by Dovecraft

Diane

I have used the Blossoms and Butterfly digital image from Paper Pretties for my example. The colour scheme came from the sunflower images, of course. I coloured the image using promarkers and made flowers from copy paper using various punches and dies. The lace was a Martha Stewart Punch and the backing paper on from Sherry K designs.

Please add a link to your blog post (not your blog) using the biggest blue froggy at the top of the collection, the other one (at the bottom) doesn't do anything that we can tell, and please comment after you have linked.Don't forget to mention Quirky and add a link back to here (please read the rules and if you realised you haven't followed the rules and won't be included in the top three, and you want your entry removed to try again - please email us using the link in the side bar).
