Monday Mural
In 1970 we started our married life in a new build part of Amsterdam "The Bijlmermeer" where concrete apartment buildings were built to remedy the housing shortage. The many grey concrete buildings were nice to live in the inside with much space. The outside was not so inspiring with our mostly grey weather it was a bit depressing surrounding with much crimes as robbery and burglary.
Yesterday we returned for a look and couldn't believe our eyes! After 50 years the grey buildings are painted in bright colours now and had undergone a complete make-over.
The whole atmosphere has changed, crimes are reduced and most people are now happy to live here. With the sunshine it looked almost we were at the Mediterranean. And there were many murals so I have found at last a few for the next weeks. Linking to Sami's "Monday Mural"
