 I visited  the Floriade Expo here in Almere for the second time. This is a unique tfacade of a pavilion.

And another one, the Wool Union..

My hope of  watching lots of flowers was disappointed..

The wool pavillion was inside colourful with wool being coloured by natural plants in vases water.

Nature is a bit confused I think. this was half October when it was still too warm for the season.

Hello!,  at the Kemphaan estate in Almere.

Those sheep were almost invisible in unknown plants for me..

Nature area

At the Oostvaardersplassen in Almere, a nature area with birds, heck cattle and deers. At this viewing point was not much of them to see.

Somebody had been very creative.

Funny signs

In the Beatrixparc in Almere the bridges have funny names. This one is named : 

"Hide-and-seek bridge"

And the "Jumping rope bridge".

The Bridge

From 2015 we could see how a railway bridge was build at the right hand side of this road. Piece by piece you could see it growing higher and higher. A few weeks ago the bridge was finally finished and had to be placed at its destination.

A huge operation was prepared to move this 255 meters long, 17 meters wide and 50 meters high bridge. During the night all the traffic and trains were blocked and the bridge moved cm to cm on little wheels to the right place. This weekend we drove for the first time by car under the bridge.

Kites

At the Atlantis beach in Almere there were some pretty kites.

We really had those blue skies without any clouds. Almost as if we are living in the Mediterranean.

Lion

A few days ago I made a walk in Almere when I passed this mural under a viaduct. I was surprised to see how beautifully the lion was painted. Mostly I don't like graffity so much but this one really impressed me. 

 The lion was watching me in a rather cheerless place with traffice racing above.

Take a ride

Last weekend we had sunny weather and beautiful skies so we drove to Amsterdam. I was sitting next to the chauffeur, my hubby, with my camera and decided to make pictures from the roads we were driving. So I invite you to drive along with me from Almere to Amsterdam.

Passing the bridge over the Amsterdam-Rhine canal. Last year it has been widened into a four lane motorway to have the traffic an easier run through.

Trains are passing by along the road.

We pass the new suburb of Amsterdam "IJburg" with the new spectacular bridge.

We noticed the motorcyclist was wearing slippers, it was freezing cold!

Entering the Piet Heintunnel.

The tunnel is 1900 metres long.

Leaving the tunnel you are right in the centre of Amsterdam with new office-buildings. The three tables with beehives hanging on top is a piece of art. This area used to be a harbour quarter and is complete renovated.

The glass building is a cruiseship terminal and the high building a hotel.
