Bu kitap; duygusal ve davranışsal bozukluklara sahip öğrenciler hakkında bilgi sahibi olmak isteyen sınıf öğretmenleri, özel eğitim öğretmenleri ve alanda çalışan uzmanlar için hazırlanmış giriş niteliğinde bir uygulama kitabıdır. Her bir bozukluğun nedeni, tanımlanması, güncel araştırmalar ışığında verilmeye çalışılmış ve okul ortamındaki pratik uygulamalarla da anlatım zenginleştirilmiştir. Bunlara ek olarak belirli bir bozukluğun tüm yönlerine ilişkin temel yaklaşımla birlikte bilimsel olarak geliştirilmiş müdahele yöntemleri de verilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Bu kitabın alanda yeni çalışmaya başlayan öğretmenler kadar güncel verilerle desteklenen tanı koyma ve müdahele stratejilrine önem vermesi nedeniyle alanda uzun süredir çalışmakta olan öğretmenlere ve uzmanlara da yararlı olacağını düşünmekteyiz.

This paper estimates the returns to career decisions in the marriage market and the returns to marital choices in the labor market. Theoretically, investments in the labor market could affect the chances of receiving a marriage offer, the type of offer, and the probability of getting divorced. Also, marital status could affect one's outcomes in the labor market, most notably the "marriage premium" in wages. To untangle this simultaneous decision-making process, I develop a dynamic programming model of the joint career and marital decisions of young men between the ages of 16 and 39. The results show that labor market decisions are strongly inßuenced by their returns in the marriage market. If there were no returns to career choices in the marriage market, men would tend to work less, study less, and choose blue-collar jobs over white-collar jobs. These results suggest that the existing literature underestimates the true returns to human capital investments by ignoring their returns in the marriage market. In addition, the results show that the "marriage premium" is much lower than traditional OLS estimates, and is virtually non-existent for higher wage men. This result suggests that while marriage may make low wage men more serious about their careers, marriage has little effect on high wage men who are already highly motivated.

An identical two-sector productivity shock causes Rybczynski (1955) and Stolper and Samuelson (1941) effects that release leisure time and initially raise the relative price of human capital investment so as to favor it over goods production. Modified by having the household sector produce human capital investment sector, the RBC model follows the international approach of Maffezzoli (2000) and so adds a second sector relative to Jones et al. (2005). This captures key major US RBC data: output growth persistence, with hump-shaped impulse responses; hump-shaped physical capital investment impulse responses; Gali's (1999) negative impulse response of labour supply; and hours volatility.

A three period overlapping generations model is developed to investigate the impact of shorter life expectancy due to disease, on human capital investment decisions and income growth. This research is particularly relevant to Sub-Saharan Africa given the dramatic reduction in life expectancy due to HIV/AIDS and the potential lasting effects on growth. Our results indicate that as life expectancy shortens so does schooling inducing a lower growth rate of income. These relationships are even more pronounced for the African continent than for the rest of the world.

In this paper, factors explaining the regional disparity of unemployment in Switzerland at the level of the Swiss states (cantons) and labor market regions over time are examined. We estimate a dynamic panel using particularly suited estimation techniques in order to find out to what extent existing estimation results are robust to the econometric specification. We find that particularly high tax burdens increase cantonal unemployment, the number of foreign workers is positively correlated with unemployment and human capital investment reduces unemployment.

We study the rural-urban divide in educational attainment in a cross-country setting. In order to do this, we present a newly constructed cross-country data set measuring average educational attainment in rural and urban regions of 56 countries. This data set is used to study the sources of variation in (i) rural educational attainment, (ii) urban educational attainment, and (iii) the

The research objectives are to analyze impact of human capital investment and direct cash fund on income distribution in Indonesia. Analysis is using a combination of Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Model and Foster-Greer-Thorbecke method. The simulation results show that human capital investment is able to increase economic growth and household income. Instrument direct cash fund lead to income distribution especially farmlaborer household group and agriculture entrepreneur household group in the rural area becomes more equal which is shown by the beta distribution move to the right side of poverty line, but government budget deficit become larger due to this instrument. The human capital investment is more effective in reducing income inequality compare with direct cash fund to household group in the rural area, so that pro-poor government policy is needed, especially in the effort to increase their access to education and health.

Folger tarafından geliştirilen "dönüşümsel arabuluculuk modeli" ülkemizde, her sene mahkemelere taşınan yüz binlerce anlaşmazlığı, çekişmeyi ve ayrışmayı yüz yüze müzakere ederek yapıcı ve barışçıl olarak çözme kapasitesini güçlendirmek için bir fırsat ve araç olacaktır. Cezalandırıcı adalet anlayışından, onarıcı adalet anlayışına dönme çabalarına ışık tutacaktır.

Bu eser,içerdiği alternatif paradigma çerçevesinde hukuk sistemimize yeni giren arabuluculuk modelinin doğru ve amacına uygun kullanılması için de referans olacak anlamlı ve önemli bir eserdir. Organizations are highly concerned with providing high value to their customers as well as achieving competitive advantage. Knowledge, experience, and way of accomplishing challenging tasks of employees enable these organizations to provide customers more value in terms of quality and low cost. Consequently, they sustain competitive advantage by further developing highly valuable and unique employees or human capital. This paper aims to analyze the extent at which human resource management (HRM) practices (recruitment strategy, training, performance appraisal, career management, and reward strategy), knowledge management system (KMS) factors (tactical knowledge management process, organizational culture, and communication), and leadership factors (transformational leadership and interim leadership) creating human capital within a firm. In this direction, data were collected from 468 Indian manufacturing employees to analyze the impact of HRM practices, leadership factors, and KMS factors on human capital creation. In this interdisciplinary study, human capital creation is examined by the extent at which employees perceive the benefits from their human capital. The hierarchical regression analysis results show that all the aspects of HRM, KMS, and leadership have significant relationship with human capital creation in Indian manufacturing companies. Age, education, rank, and tenure of employees are considered as control variables since these variables have significant relationship with human capital creation.

Purpose The objectives of the study are to analyze to the opportunities created for the new entrepreneurs through the In-Country Value (ICV) scheme; to analyze the benefits earned by the entrepreneurs through ICV in the selected companies of Oman and to critically analyze the impact of in-country value in the economic growth of Oman. Findings The study reveals that ICV initiatives have brought a great change in the local economy through enhancement of human skills and exploration of the capabilities of human resources and the potentialities of SMEs and the ICV strategy opens opportunities to the new entrepreneurs from the local community to come up with self-employment and encourages local entrepreneurs. Research limitations/Implications The study reveals that the selected companies are following their own pattern of plans, programs, and strategies and there is no uniform pattern to adjudge their performances. The Ministries should define clear guidelines and periodic reports should be generated and should be publicized that will boost up the morale of the budding entrepreneurs and the local Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Social implications The study reveals that the ICV strategy adds value to the growth of local economy and thereby the national economy through the efforts of SMEs of Oman. Originality/Value No one has ever examined the effect of ICV strategy in the local and economic development of Oman, it is a first-hand study of its kind, and the results will be useful to streamline the strategies for ICV initiatives. Introduction Most businesses start out as small which then have the opportunity to grow to become a major business potential within the country, region and internationally. The concept of In-country value (ICV)and the related strategy for the Oil and Gas (O & G) industry was introduced in 2013 to resolve US$ 64 billion payouts of the national economy and to create 50,000 jobs by 2020. ICV is defined as ‗the total spent in-country that can benefit business development, contribute to the human capacity development and stimulate productivity in the Omani economy'(Al Ruqaishi, 2016). The idea is that the total spent retained in the country will benefit the growth of businesses and enhance the human capabilities and accelerate the productivity of goods and services. Thus, we can say ICV is the initiative to explore the domestic resources to put into use optimally to accelerate the national economy.For this purpose, about 53 different business opportunities were recognized.ICV is a very important part of Oman's development strategy.The government of Oman introduced ICV to enhance the socioeconomic development of the country by augmenting the contribution from Oil & Gas (O&G) Sector. Using data from a unique nationally representative sample of businesses, the Educational Quality of the Workforce National Employers Survey (EQW-NES), matched with the Bureau of the Census' Longitudinal Research Database (LRD), we examine the impact of workplace practices, information technology and human capital investments on productivity. We estimate an augmented Cobb Douglas production function with both cross section and panel data covering the period of 1987S1993 using both within and GMM estimators. We find that what is associated with higher productivity is not so much whether or not an employer adopts a particular work practice, but rather how that work practice is actually implemented within the establishment. We also find that those unionized establishments that have adopted what have been called new or 'transformed' industrial relations practices that promote joint decisionmaking coupled with incentive based compensation have higher productivity than other similar non-union plants, while those businesses that are unionized but maintain more traditional labor management relations have lower productivity. We also find that the higher the average educational level of production workers or the greater the proportion of non-managerial workers who use computers, the higher is plant productivity.

This study is about the managerial methods adopted by Nigerian managers in training their employees for capacity development, as well as the impact of such methods on the overall organisational performance in the Nigerian business environment. It gives an overview appraisal of the human capital development approach in Nigeria and the administrative strategies adopted by managers in instilling the relevant skills into their employees for optimal performance. The study however, examines this approach in comparison with other emerging economies across the globe. Furthermore, it evaluates Nigeria’s organisational status with a view to determining its level of commitment towards training, research and capital development. The findings of the study show that Nigeria has not learnt from the past failure, and harnessing the latest technologies for productivity enhancements, at the same time taking the opportunity presented by the oil revenues to upgrade the population’s access to basic healthcare, standard of education, training and development and  improvements in other areas such as standard of living and infrastructure. Based on the evidences, the study recommended that there is need for government to invest and promote indigenous research, have a policy that will link research institutes, laboratories and universities library together. Finally, there is need to improved physical infrastructure and enhance human capital development.

This paper examines the evolution of inequality in an overlapping generations model where each individual's human capital investment depends on quality of schools. We consider an education regime where the quality of schools is a publicly provided input financed by an income tax. We show that the income gap between the rich and the poor may widen even when the quality of public education is the same across all individuals. Thus, in the short run, public education may not be the great equalizer as intended by its proponents, though it is in the long run. We also show that the effect of taxes on inequality is ambiguous. This paper develops a general equilibrium model of fertility and human capital investment with young adult mortality. Parents maximize expected utility producing a precautionary demand for children. Because young adult mortality is negatively related to average young adult human capital, human capital accumulation lowers mortality, inducing a demographic transition and an industrial revolution. Data confirm the model prediction that young adult mortality affects human capital investments. The model prediction of a positive relationship between infant mortality and young adult mortality is confirmed. Further, the data indicate a negative relationship between total factor productivity growth and accumulation of schooling. The model fits the data on world and country populations, per capita incomes, age at entry into the labor force, total fertility rates, infant mortality, life expectancy, and conditional life expectancy.

This study aims to articulate the students' perception about cyber bullying, particularly on social media. Even though ICT technology provides a large number of benefits, particularly those who are young, as Campbell (2005) has pointed out that it has also a "dark side" (p. 68). Particularly after the intensive and extensive use of the social media, the impact of the cyberbullying has dramatically increased, but it is rarely discussed and prevented. Hence, in this study, the forty-five participants were selected from two different universities and by using phenomenological analysis (Moustakas, 1994), eight research questions were answered in the semi-structured interviews, which were approximately 45 minutes in length. By gathering theoriginal data were gathered from 'naive' descriptions the experiences related to cyber bullying were taken into account based on reflection and interpretation of the participant's different stories. The collected data were analyzed in Atlas.ti 6 in order to make depth study. Additionally, there were limitations in terms of selecting the participants since a few students wanted to share their personal experiences. As a result, the data showed that the students had inevitably affected by the cyber bullying in the social media in many ways. Among ali these students, the female students had been influenced to a greater degree comparing to male students. Most (96%) of the participants agreed that social relations had changed a lot and they had to have connections with their friends through the social media. The students— particularly females—viewed cyber bullying as a problem, but no one rarely discussed at the university. More importantly a large number (89%) felt loneliness and they did not know how to behave properly. Most (91%) students did not see any helpful resources when dealing with cyber bullying. Students (82%) were currently experiencing the majority of cyber bullying instances outside of the school day, but they had direct relationship with the events at the university. Students (84%) were not able to suggest some basic strategies in order to deal with cyber bullying. They (79%) agreed that they did not know how to respond to cyberbullying. Additionally, a large number of the (94%) participants agreed that the effects would be different on the elite environments comparing to the socially disadvantaged environments. They (96%) pointed out that the future of social media had been changing in terms of education and learning so that they did not have any chance to ignore the social media. Most (85%) of the participants clarified that the university social environment, centres and counselling offices would develop a better network and understanding in order to decrease cyber bullying. Most (88%) participants articulated that cyber bullying on the socail media would develop particuiar problems and would change the culture of social life. Most (81%) claim that social media are important not only for their social life but also for their Professional life so that they did not want to see their private photographs on the walls of their friends. These (61%) participants strongly pointed out that
privacy was remarkably important for the individuals but it was not controlled. Furthermore, most (92%) participants mentioned that the autonomy in the social media would make the individulas aggressive due to the fact that there was not any law and regulations to.

Human Resource Accounting (HRA) was introduced in 1980s, it is the process of identifying, communicating, and measuring data about human resources. It is highly complicated in today's market to find well knowledge, and highly motivated people. But Human Resource is one of the most important operations for any organization or business. Without the human involvement can lose its efficiency in work, and all the areas of business and levels human efficiency is required with machine efficiency. Thus companies have to recognize and appreciate the value of their employees. It is worth and capital investments. The objective of this paper is to study the Human Resources Accounting practices, to identify challenges and issues, and to give suggestions based on the findings of the study.

This paper presents economic models of child development that capture the essence of recent findings from the empirical literature on skill formation. The goal of this essay is to provide a theoretical framework for interpreting the evidence from a vast empirical literature, for guiding the next generation of empirical studies, and for formulating policy. Central to our analysis is the concept that childhood has more than one stage. We formalize the concepts of self-productivity and complementarity of human capital investments and use them to explain the evidence on skill formation. Together, they explain why skill begets skill through a multiplier process. Skill formation is a life cycle process. It starts in the womb and goes on throughout life. Families play a role in this process that is far more important than the role of schools. There are multiple skills and multiple abilities that are important for adult success. Abilities are both inherited and created, and the traditional debate about nature versus nurture is scientifically obsolete. Human capital investment exhibits both self-productivity and complementarity. Skill attainment at one stage of the life cycle raises skill attainment at later stages of the life cycle (self-productivity). Early investment facilitates the productivity of later investment (complementarity). Early investments are not productive if they are not followed up by later investments (another aspect of complementarity). This complementarity explains why there is no equity-efficiency trade-off. for early investment. The returns to investing early in the life cycle are high. Remediation of inadequate early investments is difficult and very costly as a consequence of both self-productivity and complementarity.

The objective of the study is to discuss HR practices system variation within the hotel industry related to the identification of strategic jobs, and how this influences employees' work attitudes. The context for this research is four and five star hotels in Malaysia. This paper provides an integrated framework and five research issues relating the concepts of the HR practices system, strategic and supporting jobs, affective organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behaviour. With efficient utilization of internal resources and effective allocation of human capital investment while ensuring positive job behavioural outcomes, the theoretical framework is useful in improving the effectiveness of HR practices system and may serve as a guide to practitioners. This study contributes to SHRM theory through closer examination of the strategic job concept and investigation of applying more than one HR practices system in an establishment on employees' behaviour.

The study meta-analytically integrates results from three decades of human capital research in entrepreneurship. Based on 70 independent samples (N = 24,733), we found a significant but small relationship between human capital and success (rc = .098). We examined theoretically derived moderators of this relationship referring to conceptualizations of human capital, to context, and to measurement of success. The relationship was higher for outcomes of human capital investments (knowledge/skills) than for human capital investments (education/experience), for human capital with high task-relatedness compared to low task-relatedness, for young businesses compared to old businesses, and for the dependent variables size compared to growth or profitability. Findings are relevant for practitioners (lenders, policy makers, educators) and for future research. Our findings show that future research should pursue moderator approaches to study the effects of human capital on success. Further, human capital is most important if it is task-related and if it consists of outcomes of human capital investments rather than human capital investments; this suggests that research should overcome a static view of human capital and should rather investigate the processes of learning, knowledge acquisition, and the transfer of knowledge to entrepreneurial tasks.

In Turkey, most university administrators and academic staff members are not yet fully aware of intellectual property rights (IPRs). Researchers often have difficulty in licensing opportunities that can provide additional revenue streams due to the lack of either strategic policies set by the administration or a dedicated technology transfer (or licensing) office (TTO). This paper attempts to shed some light
on the relationship between intellectual property rights and licensing awareness in Turkish universities as well as how this is affected by the lack of TTOs. Semi-structured exploratory interviews were conducted with 45 researchers in two different faculties (Medicine and Engineering). Results show that most of the participants, including a higher-than-expected percentage from the Faculty of Engineering,
were not aware of the importance of the technology that they had developed in terms of licensing and royalties that they could earn. In conclusion, it can be said that universities in Turkey have to undergo a policy change regarding managerial issues, especially with regards to Technology Transfer Offices. Increasing the visibility of technology transfer options and agreements, as well as further research on this topic, is recommended.

Abstract
This is a critical analysis of Human Capital Development in Cross River State, Nigeria. I examined the state of education, and vocational skills development in Cross River State. A thorough evaluation of the primary schools, secondary schools, JAMB admission, university admission, graduate output and unemployment was embarked on in this piece.
From my critical assessment, Cross River State is backward in terms of human capital development. Budget allocation to education in Cross River State is only 13.46%, secondary school enrollment is very low, and performance at WAEC examination has dropped, with a pass rate of 22.49%, over 80% lecturers in University of Calabar are junior lecturers, this results to “half-baked graduates”. The graduate output in Cross River State is unacceptably poor, unemployment rate is on the increase and little or no attention is given to vocational skills development.
Data were presented in table format and graphs were used to further expatiate my explanations. Through this write up, Cross River State is advised to take the business of human capital development seriously.

Using an augmented Solow growth model with cross section and panel data, we find evidence of conditional convergence of per capita production across China's provinces from 1978 to 1993. Convergence is conditional on physical investment share, employment growth, human-capital investment, foreign direct investment, and coastal location. We project that, in the near term, overall regional inequality as measured by the coefficient of variation is likely to decline modestly but that the coast/noncoast income differential is likely to increase somewhat. We evaluate alternative policies to reduce the coast-noncoast income differential and conclude focusing solely on investment by rural collectives is insufficient. , and two anonymous referees, and the assistance of Tong Lu, James McCown, and Qiang Zhang. This paper develops a general equilibrium model of fertility and human capital investment with young adult mortality. Parents maximize expected utility producing a precautionary demand for children. Because young adult mortality is negatively related to average young adult human capital, human capital accumulation lowers mortality, inducing a demographic transition and an industrial revolution. Data confirm the model prediction that young adult mortality affects human capital investments. The model prediction of a positive relationship between infant mortality and young adult mortality is confirmed. Further, the data indicate a negative relationship between total factor productivity growth and accumulation of schooling. The model fits the data on world and country populations, per capita incomes, age at entry into the labor force, total fertility rates, infant mortality, life expectancy, and conditional life expectancy.

This paper presents an analytical understanding on the role of human capital in economic growth, focusing on India’s growth pattern and human capital formation. The fundamental questions which try to answer here are- is India a failure to convert its favorable population size into a productive human capital? What are the factors that pull back the country in successful formulation of its human capital? How India can harness its demographic dividend for potential future growth? The essay begins with an outline of a basic theoretical foundation of the presumed macroeconomic role of human capital on economic growth. It is followed by the discussion on the current empirical findings and the major flows in it. The remaining sections focus on the problem of human capital in India, and exclusively deals with the aforementioned questions we try to answer. The essay concludes with the policy recommendations for successful human capital formation in India.

The Returns to Education in Italy: A New Look at the Evidence * The purpose of this paper is to provide an update of the empirical evidence on the private returns to education in Italy. First, we show that, whilst returns to education in Italy (based on gross wages) are in line with the European average, educational attainment is generally much lower (particularly at secondary and tertiary levels). How can we reconcile these findings? Based on a simple human capital model-where the optimal level of schooling is given by equating the marginal return to the marginal cost of education-we speculate that either marginal costs are steeper in Italy or that a larger share of the population involved in human capital investment faces high marginal costs in Italy compared to the European average. Second, we examine whether the estimated returns to education have varied significantly over time. The evidence is that returns have not changed much over the period 1977 to 1995, with the exception of 1993 and 1995, when they have increased significantly, especially among female employees. Quite interestingly, the observed increase in the returns to education has been almost completely driven by higher returns to education in the public sector. Assuming that skill biased technical change has been an important factor in shifting out the marginal returns to education, an important question for future research is why these shifts have only affected returns in the public sector of the economy. Third and last, we confirm the usual finding in the international literature that accounting for measurement error in years of schooling and/or for the endogeneity of educational choices by using instrumental variables significantly increases the returns to education with respect to estimates based on OLS methods. We also show that adding family background variables to the set of instruments significantly increases returns, which suggests that these variables affect mainly the subgroup of individuals with higher marginal returns to schooling.

The rapid pace of technological innovation necessitates Information Technology (IT) services firms to continually invest in replenishing the skills of their key asset base, the human capital. We study the impact of human capital investments in the context of the Indian IT services industry, which has experienced double digit growth rates in the last decade. Indian IT services firms invest significant resources towards training and education of their employees. We examine whether these human capital investments directed towards employee training are effective in improving employee performance and productivity. Our rich employee level panel data set affords us the opportunity to link formal training with performance at the individual employee level. Controlling for unobservable employee characteristics and possible selection bias, we find significant a positive impact of training on employee performance. An additional training course, on an average, helps employees improve their performance by 3.6%. We also investigate the mediating role of employment related characteristics and the type of training on the link between training and performance. We find that employment characteristics such as work experience and whether the employee is a direct hire from an educational institution or a lateral hire from another IT services firm play a significant role in shaping the impact of training on performance. Interestingly, we find it that there is systematic superiority in the high experience laterals' ability to extract value from firm-provided training. We find significant differences between the impact of specific versus general training and domain versus technical training on performance. We also find that domain and technical training have a substitutive relationship. Taken together, these findings suggest that the value of training is conditional upon a focused curricular approach that emphasizes a structured competency development program. Our findings have both theoretical and practical significance, most important of which is that they justify increased human capital investments to fuel future growth of this important component of the global economy.

This paper generates multidimensional poverty profiles for women and children over a ten-year period from 1993 to 2003.Data from the national Demographic and Health Survey are used to improve measurement of poverty in Kenya in four ways: First, the paper constructs a composite wealth index (CWI). Second, it applies the Alkire and Foster approach to the measurement of multidimensional poverty based on the CWI and health status. Third, stochastic dominance approaches are used to make poverty orderings across groups. Fourth, the probability of being poor in assets, health or both is explored using a bivariate probit model. The results show that the distribution of poor women and children differs across groups, space and time. We also find that the CWI and residence in a rural area respectively contribute more to multidimensional poverty than health and residence in an urban area. The results further suggest that understanding the correlates of wellbeing in a multidimensional context can generate policy insights for improving human capital investments.

This paper tries to present two main problems. First of all, it analyses the basis of human capital theories conceived by economists in last decades. In the second half part of paper, we discuss human capital investments level in romanian society. The essential point here is that investing in people produces more welfare in the long run. The amelioration of this special kind of investment is the best way to improve labor productivity. Unfortunately, our short analysis shows that romanian human capital competitiveness is reduced by insuficient investment.

Using the first two waves of the Vietnam Living Standards Survey, we investigate how a father's temporary absence affects children left behind in terms of their school attendance, household expenditures on education, and nonhousework labor supply in the 1990s. The estimating subsample is children aged 7-18 in households in which both parents usually coreside and the mother has not been absent. Our results indicate that paternal temporary absence increases nonhousework labor supply by his son. The longer the absence of the father, the larger the impact. One additional month of paternal temporary absence increases a son's nonhousework labor supply by approximately one week. However, a daughter's nonhousework labor supply is not affected. We find no evidence that paternal temporary absence influences his children in terms of school attendance or education-related household expenditures.
