Design Wall Monday

Up a little early today......  Overcast this morning but the sun will burn through soon.........

This is the picture from last week...

I am still making progress..........  I can see the end in sight............

I will continue with my scheduled organizing.  I organize for one hour and stitch for 45 minutes...

The Weekend Cometh...

Up early...  At least early for me...  Should get up to 54 degrees today.....

Clearing out makes a big mess but after walking around the house for hours I finally found homes for the detritus on the table.

Now it is time to set it for tomorrows luncheon........

Adding the metallic border for the first wise man.........

Results of walking around the house for hours each day....

I am amazed at the empty spaces but I have not finished organizing so these areas may get filled.....

Not with something new but something already here that needs a permanent address........

Design Wall Monday

Today will be sunny later but this is the scene this morning....

Last Friday Joyce came over at one o'clock to assist in packing the Christmas decorations........  We finished about six that evening......

I sat down to put a few stitches in the Nativity............

Kept on till I realized that it was 2:00 AM.........

Started again at nine the next morning and worked through the day except to eat and take a nap......
Watched Netflix and stitched till ten.

Sunday came in with below freezing temps so I began my marathon once more.........

Stopped at half ten last night.

Stitched for four more hours this morning and the Wise Man is taking shape........  Still loads left but I am making inroads.........

Not much stitching time left this week as I am hosting a luncheon on Saturday........

The end is closer.....

Leaving at Last

Sunday was a GRAND day........  The family came over and we had a fun time together........  Breakfast was cooked by several of us........  Bacon, sausage, fried eggs, scrambled eggs. waffles and cheese grits........ Matthew fries exceptional eggs.....

Andrew fed the ducks leftover bread crust...........

Matthew filled the birdfeeder.

Wyatt stayed outside for seven minutes..

Andrew helped shovel the ramp.......

He worked with Jason till it was done...

That afternoon I began stitching the binding on my Mardi Gras table runner.

At last today it is starting to melt.......  Happy Days are Here Again.......

Weather Report

The temperature made it up to 28 degrees today.  Tonight's temp will be 8 degrees.........  Not melting fast at this rate.........

Wade and I are still enjoying the quiet of staying indoors and watching the birds and ducks..........

I had plenty of time to assemble my Mardi Gras table runner........

Even layered it and started on the quilting........


Barring unforeseen circumstances I should have it finished tomorrow.

Found time to give Wade a bath and wash his bedding......  My sheets are in the washer so we will both have clean bedding tonight....

Snow.......

The wonderful thing about snow here in the Carolinas is that it doesn't stay around long......

I can enjoy a day snowbound knowing that it will be gone in 48 hours......  Wade and I have all we need and the current is still on so we will stay warm in our winter wonderland......

If I am diligent I can have a finished quilt by March..........  Time will tell.......

The project selected for the first month is a Mardi Gras table runner.......

How lovely it would to actually start and finish this project before January ends.

  

Deep Freeze

The spot of white in the lower left corner is the water.........  The rest of the lake has a skim of ice on it.......  Definitely cold for Eastern North Carolina....

A good day to stay in and prep a few projects............  Bought this pattern years ago..........  Pulled the fabric two years ago and shoved this to the top of the list............

While clearing the closet I came across some things I wanted to use for Mardi Gras....  Needed a table runner and remembered this one..........  Pulled the fabric and cut it out......  Should be quick to make.....

But first up is the Cuddle Wrap for Reba.........   She is really needing it about now.......

This is from the closet clear out and is just the item to put all those small triangles I am cutting out with my scrap tool.......  More on that later.......

Christmas cactus is blooming now.....  Such a lovely ivory and pale pink.......

The last two sections of the hall closet...........

Cleared............  I plan to put office supplies on the lower shelf and the roasters on the floor........  That will be the project for next week..........

For the rest of this week I will be sewing.........

Once Again

Brought the Nativity into the living room to work on each morning.......  I haven't worked on this since March.........  How glad I will be to have the center panel done and no longer need to stitch on this cumbersome frame......

I went on to shelf two of the hall closet........  Seemed that the candles and vases would be best there....  Whew, that is done.......

Now just one shelf and the closet floor to organize........

There were many vases on the top shelf so that cleared off as I moved them to a lower shelf.....

I plan to put cake plates and large serving bowls on that shelf as they are rarely used..........  

The floor will be a good place to store the two roasters I have..........  

We shall see what tomorrow brings........
