More Babies
More ducks hatched recently...........
This clutch has two Pekin ducks in the mix. Here is a link with more Pekin duck information. HERE
This close-up shows their orange beak as opposed to the dark beak of the Mallards.

New Family Additions
The setting ducks are starting to hatch..........
One nest full joined the world on Tuesday morning before we were up but on Wednesday we got to watch another nest full hatch.......
Mama is still on the nest below.
She would scoot back as the hatched.
Until they all made it into the world. The yellow seemed to fade within an hour and they took on the
duller colors of the Mallard.
Another nest hatched yesterday but I failed to get pictures in time....... That nest had two bright yellow chicks that stayed bright yellow. I will be watching for them because I wonder if they might be the offspring of the Pekin Duck we have in our flock.

Bond and Kathy sent these flowers..... I am still enjoying them............
This arrangement came from my Sunday school class.........
I am so blessed by the Lord with the family and friends He has provided for us. Through this time of sorrow they have been holding us up in prayer, visiting, bring food and other things that would be needed. They have offered us comfort and held our hand as we walked this path of sorrow.
Jean and Bill dropped everything and came from Midlothian.
Look around today and regardless of your circumstances you will find that the Lord has given you a blessing.

Saturday Night
Full moon last night so I called Marilyn to sit on the porch with us.........
Lemuel came out and joined us........ I had gotten the hummingbird feeders hung and we watched them eat..........
Finished a small quilt...... It is 11x9....... If I get to Happy's one day I will look for a frame for it.

The garden is a pleasure to see when I am working in the kitchen. Sheila has outdone herself with this project.
The quilting has been started on My Scrap Basket so now to get up to date on Circa 2016. This is where I had stopped........ Kept looking at it on the design board. Something just wasn't right...
Can you see the problem?
Bottom right........ block turned wrong........
Three up from bottom left.... block turned wrong........
You know what that means....
Before I can sew more blocks I must dance a waltz or two with Sir Seam Ripper.....

My Scrap Basket
Caution, blogging can be addictive..........
Quilts by Cheri is a prime example......... While perusing friends on my blog roll I found this
quilt-a-long. You can still join, just check out her blog for information.
WARNING: THERE ARE OTHER IDEAS POSTED THERE THAT CAN DRAW YOU IN.
This is my rendition thus far...........
The top applique is complete.
The wee blackbird is done................
Now to select the border........ This is a tough one............
Which do you prefer, the top one or the bottom one?

My Computer Crashed
and I have had to start over..........
My information is still on the previous computer and I hope to be able to retrieve it one day but life must go on so I got a new one.........
There is quite a learning curve for me and I don't like to spend the little time I have with computers instead of sewing...
Finished up partially used skein of yarn...... These hats are mindless and fill in the time when I cannot think but must keep my hands busy........ Found another skein in the same box and began knitting it away......
The family met here for Mother's Day........ It was grand........ Kim did the shopping and everything else...... I fixed baked beans and got eggs ready for devil eggs...... Kim makes them better than I do so she made them.........
Not wanting to be left out Wade Hamilton went off in search something he could give......
And here it is........
He did it right and rubbed both sides of his head in goose poo......... How thoughtful is that?
Andrew played with the bubble stuff......
Wyatt joined in........
Kim took a break from the kitchen.....
Amanda and Matthew enjoyed a few moments on the porch.
Lemuel watched over everyone...........
Jason was the grill master............
I got a picture of our wee ducklings......
There were 12 of them........ Now they are 10........... Hope we don't lose any more.....
Here is one nest............
and another...........
There is one behind a bush that I cannot get to for a picture........
And this one........ Depression in the ground appeared one day with an egg........ For a week eggs would appear one at a time....... Now there are about 20 eggs (can't see the bottom layer if there is one). Now there are two ducks sitting on this nest.
The Canadian Geese blessed us with 5 goslings..........
Oh, not to forget the wee bird that has built a nest behind the pillow in a chair on the front porch. Not knowing she was there I moved the pillow to clear out the leaves and such and there it was with 5 eggs....
When did my yard become a bird sanctuary?

Little and Often
Since my stitching time is greatly curtailed I tend to start more than I finish........
These are part of the things I am trying to work on............
Still have one bib and two receiving blankets to finish for Cassie.............
Need to add a few rows to Mrs. Horner.............
Catch up on Circa 2016 from Temecula Quilt Co.
Knit the bag I bought the yarn for last fall...........
Bind the March Lori Smith quilt from Keepsake Quilts
Spent yesterday morning organizing the work area.... Cleared the table leaving just current projects....
Arranged the sewing/cutting table for efficiency.........
Started clearing the design wall and placed future projects on the side table.
Last night I put a few more stitches on the applique for My Scrap Basket quilt.
All the leaves are on the bottom (well, one is almost finished ).... I did not like the bias I had made for the stem....... Felt it was too bright...... This morning it is soaking in tea in the hopes it will look better.
Today I am hoping to prep the rest of the applique pieces.......... The girls are meeting here today for the first time in a long time so I need to bake something for them....
If I accomplish those things I will consider the day a success.

Happy Birthday Dear Sister
I trust you will have a grand day and do something exciting to celebrate.
Here in North Carolina I have finished another baby sweater. I want to have a few knitted ahead for gifts..........
Found the small hat in a box almost complete. Finished it up last night and knit another one..... Different pattern and larger needles....... Sure am glad that babies come in all sizes.
Quilting complete on the March project. Here it is May,........... Yes, I am not keeping up. Maybe later.
Lem's right leg is becoming a problem now. Not sure what we can do if it stops working. I will call the Dr. tomorrow to see if anything can be done.
