Deep Cleaning..............
New Rug required all small furniture to be moved out of the room........ The floor was thoroughly cleaned....
Rug installed........ Furniture put back..... While we are doing this we might as will wipe all woodwork. Put Liquid Gold on all furniture and re-arrange tchatchkes.... Which also need to be cleaned... After all this is spring........ Sure am glad that room is done..........
I did find time to mindlessly knit two hats while I vegetated on the couch each evening.......
I even finished the applique for Life of Plenty..... Is that pot really sitting crooked..... Oh well, I sure am glad this is a Folk Art quilt.......
Now off to the laundry room for some suds slinging...........

Design Wall Monday
A new challenge......... I am helping a friend by assembling a T Shirt quilt for her. She brought the box with all the pieces to me and I can see now that I will need to make more room on the design wall to work on it. All the blocks are not the same size which adds to the challenge.............
Decisions..........Decisions..........Decisions..........
Go to Patchwork Times to see what others are having fun with.... HERE
At long last block three of the Life of Plenty Quilt that Jeni from the Willow began in September.....
Block four is prepped

Wee Chicks
Done at last......... My wee chicks are all in a row now........... Ready to march into the baskets I made....
Two more scarves finished........ One for Marilyn and one extra..... You never know when you will need a gift.......
And ready to be moved to the design wall (as soon as I clear it off) is the quilt I am going to assemble for Georgina.............
This morning I will put a few stitches in my Willow quilt...... Then off to organize a closet or drawer while I wait for the delivery on my new to me rug for the master bedroom........ Jason is going to deliver it for me... We have 70 percent chance for rain so he will watch the satellite images so it can be moved during bands of rain...........
What are your weekend plans?........

In the Meantime
Right now I am finishing up the wee chicks............ They are in the hand work stage... I can do the last stitches on them tonight........
Decided to take a break and work on the third block of my Willow Quilt..........
I opened the tote with my CW Repro scraps and had fun making my selections..........
These are the winners........ They must be pressed and cut before stitching.......... Maybe I can do that on tomorrow.........

How did it get to be Thursday.......
The week started off rather quickly........... Had a dentist appointment early Monday morning..... That is why I was up at sunrise...........
Donna came and stayed with Lem while I headed to Kinston........
I did manage to get all the wee chicks cut out and ready to stitch......
Tuesday is the day the Knit Witz meet here which required the round-up and disposal of numerous dust bunnies..............
I had been to Happy's on Friday and found this floral arrangement..........
It is old and the flowers are made of paper..... I like it age spots and all..........
At long last I finished two smocked dresses.......... Now on to the next set...........

Blogging can be Dangerous.........
This week has been a busy one but with very little stitching...
One trip to the Vet with Wade Hamilton, one trip to the grocery and pharmacy and several loads of laundry...
I am still organizing our closet and each day a do a bit more........ Why don't I do it all in one day? At one time I worked that way but now I just work on a project such as that till it is done.... Too many other things have a higher priority and MUST be done so I fill small snatches of time with the current project.....
Remember I said that Blogging can be dangerous? Here is how......
Yesterday I checked a few blogs....... I found a Spring Blog Hop at Not Forgotten Farm HERE that directed me HERE to Jeni from the Willow.....Jeni offered a pattern for this woolen project for the coming season.... Since I am not a collector of wool I shall do mine in cotton fabric..........
From Not Forgotten Farm I was also directed to a free delightful design by Gail Pan, a favorite designer of mine.......... You can find it HERE . No, I could not wait...... I found fabric, traced the design. Selected fabric for the rest of the pillow and last night..............
instead of smocking I did a bit of embroidery..... This will finish quickly...........
And on to the machine work...... I need 36 of these darling chicks........... I figure 9 a day and I will be done in four days...............
Now off to Buttermilk Basin to see what other delightful wee projects are on offer for free.............

Catching Up.........
We had a wonderful surprise last week....... Our granddaughter and her husband came from Georgia for a visit...... They were not here long so I spent my time with them instead of anything else..... It was delightful to have all my chicks here and to sit around the dining room table together...........
Of course if you visit me I will take you to Happy's..........
While there I found this picture.... A steal for $20.00........ Some needle worker spent hours on hours making this picture...... And then had it professionally framed.... I felt it needed a home where the workmanship would be appreciated.......(and it looks good in my bedroom too!)
A closer view of the needle work..........
I also came home with a night table...... I have been looking for just the right one and this is it...
The upside is that it matches the green leaves in the lamp.... Happy's is a wonderful place........
At long last I finished a pair of socks for a friend...... Now to get them in the mail.....
And....(drum roll please)........
The last of the baskets......... Well, not quite... I still need to put the lining in three more but I feel close enough to the end to post the finish............ Just think..... Thirty minutes and I will be done.........
I even found the perfect boxes for their transport..........
Now on to making the three dozen chicken pincushions..........
