Saturday again!

My Saturdays have been pretty much the same recently. Only thing different yesterday was I slept until 8AM. It was nice to sleep in but I missed a few hours of sitting and doing nothing, sipping coffee and blogging:) Anyway, finished taping Justin's package and off to the post office. There are usually a bunch of people there. I think the USPS really did a huge thing to offer flat rate shipping. It appears they got a lot of business out of it, especially for the military families. The box I use is $2.00 off. So, instead of $14, it is $12. After standing in line to mail the package, chatting with people... making sure I mention Justin's name and ask them to pray for him. Hey, strangers can pray too:) On to Target for popcorn and off to Austin's ballgame. His team won again, not a very high scoring game but exciting just the same.
Also, Alex and Avery always enjoy being there... having snacks and playing. Alex is making a heart with her fingers... sweetie! Avery has on one of my favorite sweaters. They love those ring pops. I bought a bag of them at the dollar store. 25cents each and there's no telling what they charge at the concession stand!
Had to post this picture of Avery giving her Mama a big kiss:)

Autumn was there with her friend Riley. Riley is the other pitcher on the ball team. They practice on Saturday so off they go! Austin has guitar lessons on Saturday afternoon, so the two little ones came home with me for some playtime. When Tracy rang the doorbell to pick them up, Alex said "that better NOT be Mama"! They love their Mama but they just weren't finished playing.

So, my blogger friends... off to Church this morning. It is cold and damp here in Georgia, no snow... just rain. Chilly, damp, cold! Have a blessed day!

Computer delivery, Packing a special box, Shopping

I was just chilling Friday morning, my cellphone rings... my honey said "I left my laptop at home"! OH no...so after taking Autumn to school, off I go to deliver his computer. Darn, oh well I didn't really have anything planned for the morning. I did a little shopping at Target, Marshall's and was headed home. What is that with that big blue sign? GOODWILL! I only bought a few things! This nice pillow for my poolhouse, $3.90.
Two white plates
and a purse. It looks orange but it is red. $2.68.
Ate lunch and started working on my nephew, Justin's package to mail to Afghanistan.
Emptied my kitchen counters and cleaned them, drove Autumn to a friend's house, cooked a Mexican fiesta for dinner and relaxed on the sofa for the rest of the evening!

That's all I got ladies! Have a wonderful Saturday! Love to all!

Cupcakes for our Marine!

Justin loves pink (strawberry) cupcakes and we made him some yesterday! We baked them in jars, sealed them with rings and lids and I will ship them in his Valentine package with a full container of strawberry icing on Saturday! I dare say, he will be tickled pink when he receives that box:) Alex and Avery helped! Cindy, Tracy and I enjoyed putting this together and thanks Tracy for the use of the double oven. Now, we made cupcakes for the kids to frost and eat. The jar-cupcakes are for our Marine, Justin. .

They look really good!
These two had fun putting the frosting on their cupcakes and we made some for Autumn, Austin, Britani, Bradley and their Uncle Jeff! Although the rest of us would have loved to eat some... we didn't! Autumn is the ONLY one out of all of us that doesn't like the strawberry cupcakes. (but we made her one just in case)

I had lunch with a friend yesterday and stopped by the dollar store for some Valentine cards. I have a stack of cards to put in the package signed by a bunch of special family members

Well, I believe it is Friday! Another week gone and the weekend looks to be a wet one with some icy weather in the North Georgia Mountains. Fortunately there isn't much going on for us!

PLEASE PRAY FOR JUSTIN EVERY CHANCE YOU GET! THERE WERE CASUALTIES IN HIS BATALLION THIS WEEK. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE FAMILIES OF THE TWO MARINES WHO LOST THEIR LIVES FOR ALL OF US!
GOD, please keep Justin safe! Amen

Love you all and thanks for keeping Justin in your prayers:)

Sunshine on my shoulders…..Makes me happy!

I had a rough night Tuesday night so my Wednesday didn't start out so good. My husband got calls from work and woke me up TWICE. Once at 10:45PM and yes I WAS already asleep. Then again at 4:15 AM and YES I was still asleep:) Anyway, I plugged along most of the day a little tired but making it OK.

I decided to follow the lead of a fellow blogger and take note of the beauty outside! It was a gorgeous day. Laura at White Spray Paint gave me the idea. She said that she had been ignoring her yard and so have I!

This is a camelia blooming in January~crazy, huh?

Houses and silos 005

This is a beautiful picture I took while out riding in the country! You know I love those silos against the bright blue sky!

photo[2] (12)

These are wild bushes that are sooooo pretty with these bright red berries. They are all throughout my woods!

Caught me a tiny nap in the afternoon and I was good to go.

I had leftover spaghetti re-purposed:) for dinner. I love spinach, just like Popeye:). So... I took half the spaghetti, put it in the bottom of a casserole, layered steamed spinach and low-fat part skim mozzarella cheese, spaghetti, spinach and cheese! Baked long enough to get it hot and melt the cheese! Salad, Italian garlic bread. YUMMY!

Love to all! Have a wonderful day!

Dah, Dah, Dah...

I almost didn't post today, but wouldn't you wonder why there wasn't a post from theycallmeganky? Sure you would:)! You would think, what is wrong with her? Did she fall coming down the stairs and can't crawl over to the computer? Well, my Tuesday was not much to talk about. I cleaned bathrooms, vacuumed and went to the grocery store. I am trying to drop 5 pounds and was looking for delicious "low-calorie" goodies to eat. I had some afternoon visitors (Alex and Avery) for about an hour and they really made my day. Cooked cabbage and smoked sausage for dinner , watched a little TV and went to bed.

How happy am I that my day wasn't anything much to talk about? Compared to this... A guy who used to work for my husband, had a cyst on his brain, had surgery to remove it and is now on a ventilator. Please pray for him... his name is Scott!

So, my blogger friends, I am thankful for a non-eventful day! Love you all and I hope you have a blessed day!

Oh What a Beautiful Morning-Oh What a Beautiful Day!

This is what I saw first thing this morning. It was beautiful. When I pick Autumn up and come back out to turn on the main road, there are these silos straight ahead. Just the silos are intriguing to me but add in this beautiful sky, the tree branches... WOW! I told Autumn, I have to get a picture of that. She just sits there eating her breakfast while I fumble with my phone to get a picture. I am always talking about the beautiful sky:) she is used to it!

I don't have a whole lot to talk about today. I ran to my Sister, Barbara's house to see my cousin Lois and her husband in town from the Savannah area. I really enjoyed visiting with them and back home. Swept the kitchen, cleaned the sink and counters in the kitchen. Worked organizing one of the drawers in the kitchen. That's about all.

Tuesday is here! Hope it is a good day and that the sun will be shining again today! Love you all!

Albums? Crooked Magazine? What's an Ezine?

So... blogger friends, I searched out my albums to play on my new toy. Hey, we have some good ones. I call them "yours, mine and ours"! We have some that were mine with my ex-husband, some that are mine with my current husband and some that were theirs individually. Anyway, we have a collection. I have enjoyed looking thru the songs and gazing at the covers.

My magazine was cut crooked.... throughout the whole magazine. I can still read it but it is a bit annoying! Great magazine. Found some good places to visit:)

Now to the Ezine question. I joined up for a class on how to make some beautiful pastry looking beauties. Take a look at these... reckon I can make them? Hmmmm... not sure, but I AM gonna try:) http://myartfuladventures-ezines.blogspot.com/2010/01/february-sugar-and-spice-ezine.html

According to Wikipedia, an ezine is an on-line magazine... just so you know:) Hey, anybody want to give it a try, click on the sweet button on my sidebar for the information!

So, Monday is here... a new week, new adventures and hope you all have a great week!

Smiles at my door!

Friday there were smiles at my door! Sweet babies and their Mama from Knoxville!
They have been in town for a few days and came to spend some time with me. We totally enjoyed our time together!
Had lunch,
played with toys
and honestly this is what we did the rest of the afternoon!
They were both tired and I brought down Tracy's kids Aero bed in hopes they would rest a little. Not gonna happen. So... I got both girls to lay on me, after much chattering and laughing, they finally fell asleep and slept and slept and slept:) I loved on them and kissed on them and enjoyed being stuck on the sofa for hours. Oh my, these little children are growing like weeds. Madison has gotten so tall and thinned down and Maybree is getting so big. We miss so much of their little lives by not living close to them. But we make every moment count when we do see them. Thanks Anna for bringing them to see their Ganky:)

Now for those of you wanting to know what songs are on the Best of 72! Girls, great songs is what is on that album. I can't wait to play it and burn a cd so I can listen and remember those days:)

I brake for Estate Sales and a 70th birthday!

On my way to take Autumn to school, errrrrrrrrkkkkkkk! What is that? Hey Autumn, I am coming back to that Estate Sale and that is what I did! Whole house sale! YES! I haven't been to one lately and I really enjoyed it.

This is my loot!

Check out these carolers. A lady got to the pretiest nativity scene I have ever seen before me or I would have it too.Prints! I got about ten, some birds and one Norman Rockwell. This GORGEOUS Christmas apron.
I bought this chest. Not sure where it will end up but for right now is is here!

Record albums... Various years and songs...

Can't wait to play this one. This is the year I graduated from High School:)And how will I play them, you might ask? I bought this during Christmas. It plays records AND YOU CAN RECORD THEM TO CDs! Yipppeeeee! Can't wait to give it a try!
So my friends! I had fun looking thru my purchases, put something delicious in the crockpot for dinner and now it is Friday! My sweet Marine Nephew called me again last night! That Justin really knows how to make his Aunt smile:)

Happy Birthday to my Brother-in-Law, Jerry! It is the big 70! He has been in my family forever. He and my sister, Barbara got married when I was in the first grade I think! Happy Birthday Jerry! I love you!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Sketched by someone special!

Alex drew a picture of me Tuesday night when they visited! She told me to sit still and kept looking up at me to get it right:) I think she did an excellent job! She asked if I had a magnet and proceeded to find the perfect place on the refrigerator. She said "you sure have a lot of stuff on your refrigerator, Ganky"! But she found a spot for her picture and made sure it had a magnet at the top and the bottom.

What did I do on Wednesday? Took Autumn to school and went to Walmart for a few things. Got Justin some hand, feet and body warmers. He said it gets cold over there at night. So, they will be mailed this Saturday along with that truck magazine that I forgot to mail, another phone card and another load of snacks.

I started working on some Valentine cards. I bought this last year after Valentine's Day. It was $4.99... which I am certain I didn't pay:) This box is full of goodies.

It had stuff to make 10 cards with envelopes, tags, stickers, bows, cutouts, various designs of paper and puffy hearts,
I have this little tray that I use for small projects. I bought the tray at an estate sale some time ago. I like it because I can keep all my goodies together to work on the project. It is easy to take the whole tray and put it away until I can work on it again.

So... not much to talk about today. Worked on some files for taxes yesterday but nothing really spectacular. I usually wait until the last minute to do that but not this year. I am on the ball:)

Have a great Thursday! Don't forget your umbrellas and rubber boots! It is supposed to rain pretty hard. I think I will stay in today and work around the house.

Love to all, stay safe and dry!
