My favorite day, today...

It's been a week since my last post, that just means NO NEWS around here:)  I have been working every day clearing out areas that needed attention.  Nutcrackers are packed away until next Christmas, each day making a little progress.  I have stayed home WAY TOO much lately.  Today I am having lunch with my Sister Cindy and SIL June.  It will be nice to just get out of the house.  Cold weather is coming with low temps that will last for days.  The fireplace is loaded with the next fire and when it gets cold, a warm fire feels really good.  So, even though there isn't much happening to speak of... each day is good.  AND, like Pooh said today is "my favorite day"!  It's all about what you make of it, right?  Yes!

Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Snow in the South...

Snow, snow, snow in the South!  These two had enough to play outside in the snow:)

Where we live, it snowed but it didn't stick!

We stayed home, built a fire!  Warm and cozy!

We can't see the sunset because we live in the woods, but it shines thru the trees and it was beautiful!

It has been a "stay at home" kinda week!  I have been working in my storage room, clearing and sorting, piling things up and throwing stuff away!  It feels good to see the results of my hard work.  I am enjoying my coffee and getting my day started.  Have a blessed day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

We closed the books on Christmas 2021...

We closed the books on Christmas 2021 yesterday!  My Sister Cindy's family was all together and of course I am included:)  The gifts were ready to load in my sleigh:)  Christmas casserole ready and off I went.  Marc and I enjoyed being with the Simmons family, every single one of them all in the same house.

I was happy to meet little Sadie Mae.  Oh what a sweet little girl.  Bradley (nephew) and his wife Tiffany are now a family of FIVE!  I had the best time yesterday being with everyone, ate too much good breakfast food and didn't take a single picture.  Cindy shared this one of Sadie and me.

I sent Cindy this picture after I returned home.  She gave me the SWEETEST blanket for SISTERS.  So many sweet sayings on it and ladies it is very warm on this cold day.  I love it Cindy and wrapped up in in right now while I am typing:)

My Niece Kelly sent me this picture a couple days ago.  We both share a love for sunsets.  But she knew I would especially love this one because my Brother Marshall's windmill is in the picture.  I told her I loved it and she said "I knew you would"!

We don't get much snow here in the South but in a little while THEY SAY we are going to get some.  (and my husband just said, it is snowing)  I have nowhere to go and plenty of food to eat.  I will stay warm and cozy with a fire in the fireplace.  Sounds like a good day to me and I pray we don't lose power.  Enjoy your day dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

My week so far…

It seems that there is something blooming around here year round and that is good with me:)  I received the camellia bush/tree for my 50th birthday and I am now 67.  It has reached above the roof line and has the prettiest blooms.  One of my former co-workers gifted me this and I still enjoy it 17 years later.

These little wild plants are scattered throughout the woods and pop up everywhere.  This year the red berries have been bright and abundant.

Autumn, Brooklyn and Jameson came for a visit on Monday.  We left the nutcrackers out so they could see them and play with them.  I loved seeing them enjoy looking at each one:)  I know that my Sister Barbara was smiling down from heaven.

This is a special picture.  Brooklyn is sitting in her Nana's (my daughter Tracy) chair that she had when she was a little girl.  They are playing a little piano that my Sister Barbara gave them.  Memories, how they linger and I am thankful!

Yesterday my Sister Cindy, Sister-in-law June, niece Britani and I had lunch together.  It was a local restaurant serving hot dogs/onion rings etc.  It was one of my Sister Barbara's favorite places and we felt she was there with us.

My Brother’s windmill, love that windmill and I know he is smiling when I stop to video it... and it spins.

The sunsets are changing as the days get a little longer.  Our weather folks are predicting a little snow perhaps this weekend.  We will be having our final 2021 Christmas gathering on Saturday with my Sister Cindy's family.  Hope the weather stays good for that!

Have a blessed day dear friends, thanks for stopping by!  Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!

Baby It's Cold Outside...

The calendar has been saying it was Winter and now the temps agree.  We have had lots of warm weather and now it's finally cold.  I have been staying inside for the most part doing little projects around the house and most certainly will not be getting out today:)  It's 29 degrees here, grocery shopping was done earlier this week and I will stay warm and cozy right here at home.  How is everybody doing in this New Year!

Have a blessed, safe, happy and healthy Friday!  There are SO many people sick with the stinking virus, prayers for all to heal quickly and completely!  HUGS!

Still Christmas and Happy New Year too...

Happy New Year but we weren't quite finished with Christmas.  Flu in the family kept us from seeing these cute little Great-grandbabies, but yesterday we combined a little Christmas and a little New Year celebrations!  Brooklyn and Jameson enjoyed their Karaoke machine from Nana and Pops:)

WE donned our fancy glasses and headbands for a family picture:)  We giggled as I set the timer and 10, 9, 8, 7 counting down and ease over to pose:)  I love my family!  We had all of the traditional New Year's Day foods to help with good luck and lots of wealth in 2022.  Hope it works:)

And a few tears in my gift from Autumn and family.  If you have followed me for a while, you know that my Sister Barbara who passed away in February last year has gifted me this huge nutcracker collection.  While shopping at Hobby Lobby, Autumn was telling Brooklyn how much I loved this precious collection.  She insisted on them buying one for me:)  It took my breath away when I opened this gift and tears came.  I knew that my Sister was smiling from Heaven that a nutcracker was added to my collection even though it didn't come from her, or did it?  It is the little ballerina front and center.  I love it and the little girl with the big heart who wanted her Ganky to have it.

There is so much sickness around, please stay safe and healthy!  Happy New Year dear friends, sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way!
