Monday, Monday!

It is a bit cloudy and rainy today and the perfect time to catch up with what's Going On!
This was all the Valentine's decorating I did this year.  The red heart was made by my Dad many years ago and is very special to me.
I took balloons and a little candy to the Grands and enjoyed a few hugs.
Scout has discovered my watercolors and is very interested in painting.  We will do much more soon!  I have some brushes and paints just for her.
Winter has been so dreary that I wanted a little color so found this cute pillow cover on Amazon.  I love having lots of pillow covers so I can change them out for seasonal and holiday decor.
Annie has been napping with me most every day.  I'm healing well and slowly and I do mean slowly getting my energy back.  I went to WalMart with my Mom one day and made the mistake of walking instead of taking one of the riding carts.  I was more then ready to come home and it took me two days to recover.  However my Mom did buy me this for Valentine's Day!
I love Flamingos and this cute girl just jumped in my cart and came home with me.  I've named her Rose (Pink in French).  Along with my Flamingo pillow covers she makes a sweet corner on the couch!
A little trip to Trader Joe's was fun and this little Hyacinth plant was only $2.99
I can't wait for it to bloom!

So not much else going on.
I've binged watched several shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime.  Read at least 3 books and slept a great deal.  Healing is hard work.

Wishing you Joy!

National Cat Day~~Meet Annie!

It's National Cat Day!
Since losing my sweet Charlie I've been letting my heart heal.
Finally it was time to bring a new furry love into my home.
Tiger and I spent a day checking out a few rescue cats at PetSmart before heading to our local animal shelter.
As Tiger told the ladies there, "we are looking for a calm cat, who likes children and likes to be petted!"
(I love this child)'
After playing with a few cats that just didn't steal my heart, we took this little cutie into the play room!  She loved to be petted and was very affectionate! She kept going up to Tiger's hand for pets and he said, 'Grandma she loves my hand!' We played with her awhile longer, I held her and my heart did a little melty thing.  Tiger looked at me and said, 'I think we found the one Grandma' and so we had.
Meet Annie Belle!
They think she is about 3 years old and was a stray.  I can tell she loves people so she must have had a home at one time.
She has some unusual markings for sure and the prettiest eyes!
We had to submit our application and were told to come back the next day to pick her up.  She was up to date on all her shots, spade, chipped and was well worth the $50 adoption fee.
Tiger and I brought her home and she was happy right from the start!
Loves my bed and has become quite comfortable there!
She is eating well and has those amazing 'laser' eyes in this photo!
She and Mr Toes have gotten to know each other and that is going well.
I can't tell you how happy I am to once again have a kitty to love!

Cotopaxi is an outdoor-wear company based in Salt Lake City, Utah that is focused on giving back and making a positive social impact. They donate a portion of every sale to world poverty initiatives, and their travel backpacks help provide the most relief. To carry on their mission, they raised awareness for local humane societies on National Cat Day.

I hope you will tell your story about how you found the cat(s) in you life today!
Tiger was very happy to help me find a new Kitty and we already are in love with
Miss Annie!

Wishing you JOY,

Sweet Sixteen!

Today my sweet Charlie Kitty turns 16!
Charlie is the best cat and a great companion!
We have been through a lot together
I saw this sweet kitten in a PetSmart and knew I would not be leaving there without him!
I truly do not know what I would do without him...I know one day I will have to find out, but I hope not for several more years.

Of course I have a collection of 'cats' so in honor of Charlie here they are...
Lots of fun cats in the cubbies!
Sitting on the shelves
A few of my favorites scattered here and there!
Tiger and I got Charlie some treats and a catnip mouse for his Birthday!
But first a Cat Nap!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

A Favorite Thing!

I have cat's on my mind and so I'm sharing a few of my favorite cat collectibles!
Sometimes a friend will send me a sweet kitty for my collection. Sometimes I buy one on Ebay (Fenton glass December Birthday cat).  I won a gift card from Novica and choose a Cat of Happiness box!
The Wade cat is so modern, while the McCoy Cat string holder is so vintage.  This sweet plate is how I feel about my kitties!

Update On Mr Toes
We visited him today and he is looking so much better.  Both of the Dr's stopped to talk to us about him.  Everyone there loves him, He is such a sweet guy and has really been struggling to survive!
They think he has turned a corner!!  He is on a mega antibiotic and today we could see the spark back in his eyes.  He was happy to see us and we petted and talked to him for awhile!
Thank you for all the good wishes and prayers!
I am hoping he will come home next week!

I'm off to see Sara, Blake and Tiger this weekend but will have
 Gratitude Sunday up Saturday evening.

I'm joining A Favorite Thing

Wishing You JOY,

Update On Mr Toes

It has been a really rough few days!
If you missed my last post, I shared that our sweet cat Mr. Toes was shot with a pellet gun by someone.  We thought he was doing okay and didn't have any internal injuries.  Monday he went back to the Vet and they said he was running a fever.  They kept him and gave him iv fluids and pain meds.  Today they were able to give him an ultrasound and thought there was some damage so called us and discussed surgery.  We agreed and they went in.  They found the pellet had pierced the small intestine in two places, had bruised his stomach and he had peritonitis.  They removed the damaged intestine and cleaned out the infection.  He will be in the clinic for several more days while they give him antibiotics and continue to monitor his condition.
Mr Toes is such a sweet cat and has a wonderful fun personality.
We are praying for the best!
He is not out of the woods yet, but he is young and strong and we believe he has a strong will to survive!  After all he made it home after being shot.
So Mr ALC, Charlie Kitty and myself all thank you for your prayers and good healing thoughts.
It's amazing how much we love our furry babies!
Our home feels different without him here.

I'll try to get back to my regular blogging soon, my head and heart have not been up to it.  Those who I'm mailing things to, I promise I'll get them out soon.

And to make us all smile....here are some photos of a different kind of 'cat'
Tiger has started Toddler Gymnastics
Checking out the musical choices
Playing Drums...has kept Tiger a busy boy!
I hope to visit him this weekend!

Wishing You JOY,
Linda

Mr. Toes!

We have a new member of our household
Turn around and show the folks how handsome you are....
Meet Mr. Toes
He has 'adopted' us and we have become very fond of this funny guy.  We think he is a young cat and not at all feral.  Very friendly and sweet.
He started hanging around our yard and coming on our deck. He and Charlie would have conversations through the screen door.  Mr ALC offered him food and water as he looked pretty skinny.  He has continued to return daily and hang out.
He has adorable white 'toes' and does air biscuits all the time.
 So Mr. Toes he became!
He makes us laugh!
Do you think the birds will notice I'm in their bird bath???
He is one relaxed dude!
We are planning a visit to the Vet very soon as he has not been neutered and I'm sure has had no shots!
Charlie watches him and they converse daily!
Charlie likes him as long as he stays on the other side of the door!

So welcome to our home
Mr Toes!
