A Little Easter Bunny Fun!

At Easter I like to display my Bunny collection
along with some fun Egg Cups!
Some vintage some new, almost all thrifty finds.
I have a eclectic collection for sure!
I've had these Peter Rabbit books in English and French since I was 16!
I got this bunny egg holder at World Market a few years ago.
My faux eggs fill it nicely.
A few of the fun Easter egg cups I've collected!
One more bunny in a small vignette!
These two egg cups are my newest finds!
The white one is unmarked but has a pretty border of flowers and a raised flower design on the white part, I paid .99 for it.  The turquoise egg cup is a Harlequin egg cup from the Homer Laughlin company.  Read more about that company HERE.
I found this egg cup at Goodwill and it was a surprising .77,  Score on both of these!
I hope you enjoyed my funny bunnies!
I'll be sharing my Easter tablescape next week!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Art Project Weeks 10 & 11

I'm still enjoying my weekly art projects!
March came with a new Theme
Making Your Mark (doodles and mark making)

Week 10
Art Challenge: As A Layer Element
Journal Challenge: Surviving the Elements

So this art challenge was hard for me
but that is what the art project is all about!
I doodled flowers and marks!
I used water colors and added some colored marker 'doodles'.
It was a fun page and very spring like.

Week 11
Art Prompt: Borders
Journal Prompt: Borderline feels like I'm going to lose my mind
I used my colored markers and made borders until I filled the page, it was a challenge!
I added the journal prompt to the center
I added a light layer of Gesso to texture the page
I added a little heart stamp around the edge.  I love the bright colors and all the borders!

Thanks for joining me in my year long art project!

Confession Time

Friends it's been 14 days since my last post.
Excuses?  I have a few.
Life seems to have gotten in the way of blogging once again.  This time it's not been anything big, just a busy life and feeling like I didn't have much to blog about.
I've been visiting and commenting but not blogging,
so today let's catch up a little.
My spare room once again became a dumping ground.  I finally got over my cold (which hung on for two weeks) and tackled this mess.
This chest was moved to my daughter's house and is now holding all of the new babies clothes(she is due in a few weeks...we are so excited)
Not only did I need to edit and go through all these boxes, I needed to edit all these shelves.
I bought this folding craft table.  It's small but fits in the area I have available.  Now on to the shelves.
I moved some of the glassware to another spot.(I'll share that soon).  Opened up some shelves for craft supplies.
This gives me some art space and storage for my supplies.  Not as neat as some have, but it's a work in progress for sure.
The shelves still have some glasses I need to re-home.
These shelves are a bit more organized, but again a work in progress!
Scrapbooking supplies came out of this room to be sorted.
I'm not making scrapbooks any longer but not ready to just donate all these items.
I find in a small place that I keep making a mess in one room to try to clean up another room.  My goal is to make my home less cluttered and yet keep the things I love.
(if any of you are interested in some scrapbooking supplies let me know...they are for sale at a cheap price)
Next up....this storage unit in my dining area!

I promise to blog more.
I have art projects to share and a fun road trip with my girlfriends!

Sharing this at

Wishing you JOY,
Linda

Quilt Show

Last weekend the local quilt club had a quilt show.  My Mom who has been a quilter for many years wanted to go, so we did!
I enjoy quilts and this one is bright and beautiful
Another award winning quilt
This little wall hanging of a hummingbird is so pretty. My Dad loved hummingbirds so this made me think of him.
I liked the fabrics used in this quilt
blues and greens are so pretty together
Mom really liked this quilt
This close up shows all the small postage stamp size squares and the lovely quilting
Love the vibrant colors
This large wall hanging is very stylish
Maple Leaf design for my Canadian friends
Of course there was a quilt in U of Ga colors
This was a cute wall hanging
A baby quilt of X's and O's
Adorable!
Sweet Hearts!
One of my favorites was made using selvage edges...clever
Close up of the square

This was my 'Best of Show' vote
It was titled "Mod Flowers"
Love the colors and pattern so much
Close up of the square
Hand pieced and hand quilted
Love this!

Mom and I had so much fun.  It was nice to have an outing that didn't involve Doctors, Dentists or the grocery store.

Do you quilt?

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Art Project Week 9

The last challenge for February and
Layers you Will Love
Art Prompt: Using at least 5 layers
Journal Prompt:  High 5

I am trying to add something personal to each of these art challenges...February is my daughter Sara's birth month so for layer one I added some birthday themed tissue paper.
Layer two was adding some Gesso in a fun swirl pattern.
Layer 3 was to spatter paint blue on the page.  Layer 4 was to add a red 'handprint' and layer 5 was decoupaging the #5 all over the page.
Adding some words to the page in a red ink pen
5 Layers and High 5

I can't wait to see what March's Challenge will be!

Tiger and Nascar!

In the south Nascar is very popular!
My son-in-law is a big fan, it was something he shared with his Dad growing up.  Finally Tiger was old enough for his first race.  They went to the Saturday race (not the big Sunday race) at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.  Tiger was so excited.
A child this young should always wear headphones because the noise level is so high.
It was pretty cold early in the day so he was layered up!
They went with Blake's Dad, Tiger's Pop-Pop.
Tiger loves cars and has been 'watching' races with his Dad on TV since he was a tiny baby.
See the little race car!
Now of course he is almost 4 years old
Thumbs up for his first Nascar Race
Showing the souvenir car that his Pop-Pop got for him.
It's an experience he will never forget!
None of them will!

Wishing you Joy,

Linda
