Update From Mom's House

Mom and I are working so hard to figure out what she is taking to Georgia and get it packed.
We are both tired but keep at it every day!
I took some photos but seem to have lost them while trying to upload to my Chrome book.
Oh well....take my word for it, we are living in a mess!

Fun times back home with Tiger are shared with me via photos, phone calls and emails.
A new family tent had to be tested so a backyard campout was in order!
Tiger had his sleeping bag and
the mattress was for his Grand-Mum who was visiting (Blake's Mom)
Mama slept in the house because she had to work the next morning
but came out to tuck Tiger in!
The night went well until early morning...
The birds woke Tiger up....they are so LOUD Daddy!

I was so glad Tiger had some time with his Grand-Mum Sandra.  She doesn't get to see him as often as I do and enjoyed her week long visit.  She emailed me and told me Tiger spoke about me a lot and misses me!  I miss him also.

So other then work work work not much is going on in my life!

Linking up with You're Gonna Love It!

Wishing you Joy,

Linda

It's A Very Hoppy Easter

Mom and I are enjoying a beautiful and quiet Easter!  Corned Beef and cabbage on the menu and not a hard boiled egg in sight.
While I'm away I think the bunnies have come out to play!  I put them in the cubbies the day before I got a call to come to Texas, so without any supervision,
there is no telling what they are up too.
I was in such a hurry to leave I didn't even get photos, but these are some from years past!
They look so sweet and innocent in the cubbies
These little one's are party egg cups for sure!
I see some snuggles going on....
Of course this one didn't hear a thing
and this one wouldn't tell if he did

Oh well....guess I'll just have to let them enjoy the day!

I do wish I was there to hunt Easter eggs with Tiger
Here he is at one and enjoying his first real Easter!
Last year at two and hunting eggs!
I hope I get a new photo later today.
I sure do miss this smiling face!
Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Easter Tablescapes

Since I'm not home to set a new Easter table, I thought I would share a few from previous years!
This tablescape had a rabbit theme in 2010
I love these April Cornell linens!

In 2012 the rabbits inspired another table
Pink and Blue for Easter
This thrift shop rabbits are some of my favorite finds at only .80 each!

This table from 2010 was also lots of fun
And featured a place setting for my 'hoped for' Grandchild....
Maybe next year I can host Easter dinner at my house and use these fun place mats!
This Bunny napkin ring makes me smile!

In 2012 I set an Easter table for Two!
I love the blue and whites used on this table
A simple but fun centerpiece says it all!

I will enjoy being with my Mom this year but will miss hunting eggs with Tiger.
There is always next year!

Things are moving along here in Texas.  It is such a big job to downsize but we are working on it.  Mom continues to improve health wise and so we are on track to have her moved to Georgia by June 15th!  We will all be glad when this move is over.   I miss my family but talk to them frequently, in fact Tiger called me today to thank me for his Easter card.  Thank goodness for all the photos and videos his parents share with me!

I'm linking this to
I'm so sorry I haven't been visiting but Diann and I are trying our best and really appreciate you joining the fun at TTF!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Sharing The Birds Of Sping

I wanted to join Kathleen for her Let's Dish challenge this month.  Since I'm at my Mom's and away from all my dishes, I decided to share a post with you from last year!
This plate was my inspiration for the table
It just says 'Spring' to me!
I layered a large white charger plate and a vintage green plate underneath the salad plate.
*edited to add that I think the green vintage plate is Edwin Knowles Yorktown.  Thanks to Monicawho helped me research*
The bright green place mat was perfect and added two other colors; yellow and blue

The plaid napkin brought out the yellow and blue in addition to the green.
I went with the blue handled flatware

I love this blue and green goblet and while I found mine at Goodwill, I've seen them at Ross.
Adding a little bird napkin ring continues the theme of this table.  The napkin rings were found on deep clearance at Hobby Lobby.
Pier 1 bird salt and pepper shakers on a pale yellow plate
At each place setting is a little yellow bird salt shaker.  Vintage and in bad condition, I love them anyway and they are perfect to add that extra touch!
My newest thrifty find is this cute bird napkin holder.  I paid 95 cents for it and added some bird paper napkins to the holder.
For a centerpiece I added my potted peace plant and a soft yellow bird and a LOVE sign
*When fresh flowers aren't available a green houseplant still adds some life to a centerpiece*

I hope you enjoyed my birdie tablescape!

Please visit Kathleen and see all the other tablescapes for the April challenge of 'Birds~Eggs~Nests'

I'm also joining Tablescape Thur

Wishing You JOY,

Linda

What A Week!

I have missed all of you!
The packing is going slowly
Making decisions is tiring for Mom and I know it's hard to let go of so many of your possessions.
She is trying so hard!

This is Sam
Mom's cat has been an indoor/outdoor cat for most of his 13 years.  However moving means staying inside and using a litter box (which he does not like to do).
Last week we found an injury on his back leg and took him to the Vet.
I told Mom that with his injury it was time to keep him inside!
We have and it's not been fun but he is adjusting.  Mornings are the worst time as he wants O~U~T!!!
He will hopefully live with Mom in her new apt as he adjusts to being an indoor cat!

On top of that early Sunday morning my friend Terry called me to tell me that her husband Dennis was having open heart surgery!  He had an aortic aneurysm that burst.  Most people do not even live long enough when this happens to get to the ER.  Dennis felt something was wrong and they called 911.  An ambulance took him to the hospital, while there they did a test and they had to Life Flight him to another hospital where they did emergency surgery.
Dennis, Terry and I are more then friends, we are Family!  Terry has kept me updated and as of today Dennis is awake.  They took out his breathing tube and he is having some problems but his outlook while still critical is so much better!
So many of you responded to my request for prayers on Facebook and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!  Please continue to keep Dennis and Terry in your prayers.

So it's been quite a week...oh and yesterday
April 7th was this little guy's Birthday
I can't believe he is three years old!
I talked to Tiger on the phone and he told me he would save me a cupcake!
I miss him so much!

I am hoping the rest of this week goes smoothly and I get some more packing done.

All your well wishes for my Mom have meant so much to us.  We have a timeline for moving.
I will return home for two weeks the end of May to take care of some personal business and see Ashleigh when she visits.  Then I'll return to Texas and finish loading up, cleaning out the house and moving Mom to Georgia by June 15th.

I'll keep visiting and I'll try to post occasionally!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda
