Pink Saturday a Day Late!

I tried to get this done for Pink Saturday, but with family here it just didn't happen. However I decided to post these photos also taken in Sanibel last Thanksgiving and share some PINK(ish?) photos before all the red begins.

The sunrises and sunsets were awesome. Carter would lure me out to the balcony in the morning for sunrise with coffee. Sunsets were easier on me....but I loved them both.

Not sure of the name of these birds, but the pink color was awesome. We were in the Ding Darling Wildlife Preserve doing the driving tour. We rounded a corner and the sight of these birds made my jaw drop...so gorgeous!!! Lots of other folks taking photos, I enjoyed watching them and trying to capture their beauty.

Just a beautiful place and amazing wild life!

Well that's it for today...I'm off to start the Christmas decorations! Very excited to share with my blogging family this year.

On another note, I had a great Thanksgiving with my family and I appreciate all the comments on my tablescape. It was great fun and my daughter loved it all. She is excited I am blogging again. Till next time with new photos...

WITH THANKFUL HEARTS

I am joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.
This is my first tablescape and I know some of my photos aren't the best, I had to use the flash but I am excited to share my Thanksgiving table with you. I had such a good time getting this table ready for my family.

I started out with this......

And ended with this.....

A few details on the table....

So many of you shared this adorable acorn salt and pepper shaker that I had to have them...50% off at Cracker Barrel...so cute!

To continue the acorn theme, I found this very cute dish at Kohl's also 50% off, it will hold my cranberry-strawberry relish tomorrow.
The cardinal sitting on an acorn was bought for 50 cents last summer at THE LONGEST YARD SALE....How cute is he?

Finding these plates changed my whole table setting and I love them! Fitz and Floyd plates marked down several times and with an additional 40% off I paid $3.50 each....the center detail is wonderful.
The dark red dinner plates are Goodwill finds for 98 cents each

The glassware is all thrift shop, as are the napkin rings. Placemats, napkins and table runner picked up here and there all on sale. The flatware is monogramed family silver from Carter's family. Butter dish is a flea market find. Pumpkin bowls WalMart.

So the table is set for four and waiting for food and family.

I have many reasons to be Thankful this year. It has been a year of ups and downs but I am staying positive that there is only good to come. I am blessed with a wonderful mate, family, friends and my new Blogging Family!

Here's Wishing All of You a Very Happy Thanksgiving!

SANIBEL ISLAND BLUE

Join me for Blue Monday over at Smiling Sally's...

Last Thanksgiving Carter and I spent a week at Sanibel Island, Florida. We had a Condo on the beach and enjoyed the blue skies, walks on the beach, beautiful sunrises and amazing sunsets. It was my first visit to this island paradise but I hope not my last. I took many photos and so on this Blue Monday, I want to share three photos that remind me of Sanibel and the color blue.

This year we will be staying home and enjoying a Thanksgiving with family.

THREE TEA CUPS

A few weeks ago Carter and I were taking a Sunday drive and found a Flea Market. It was late in the day and most vendors were closing up. We wandered around a little and since it looks like a good place,we will plan a trip back one of these days. I came across these 3 tea/coffee cups and when the man said 3 for $1.00...well they were mine. Love the colors and I think these are pre-Fiesta but not sure. If anyone knows what these cups are I would love to hear from you. No markings on the bottom. Still working on getting better photos, but hope this came out well enough.

These will look very cute in my Pink Room! I'm joining Show and Tell Friday with Cindy At My Romantic Home.http://romantichome.blogspot.com/2009/11/show-tell-friday.html

LOVELY SHADE OF BLUE

Join me for Blue Monday at Smiling Sally!

I love the beach glass shade of blue green. Over the years I have collected several pieces in that color. I found this bowl at the Habitat for Humanity Thrift Shop. I payed 25 cents for this..

I will continue to work on taking better photos of my treasures! Thanks for taking time to visit me and any suggestions on taking photos and blogging are appreciated!

CHARLIE THE CAT

Just when we make plans, things happen! I was petting my beloved cat Charlie and I felt a lump on his side near his left rear leg. I was stunned, this was a large lump, golf ball size at least. Next morning took him to our wonderful vet and after the exam he said we needed to remove it. Surgery took place on Friday and Charlie who is 10 years old did just great. Dr Varner got it all and said it looked benign. I brought Charlie home yesterday and he has a huge incision site. BUT....he is doing great! Alert unless I've just given him his pain meds and moving around like a champ. So I'm very thankful he is doing so well!

I am having a hard time figuring out how to download photos from my camera to this computer so I can start posting. Frustrated is the word. But soon....I hope this will add some followers to my Blog

Keeping UP

I have been super busy the last few months, no job so I'm sleeping, reading, watching TV and just doing all those exciting life fulfilling things I've longed to do........ NOT! so OK, I've indulged myself long enough time to get life on the move again.
Jobs are just not there right now and I'm OK with it. I'm able to live on what I'm getting on UnEmployment and I've got a lead on a job after the first of the year (fingers crossed). But till then I have realized I need to keep moving forward and not stagnating. Recently I have been reading many a BLOG about Thrifting, Junking and Collecting and I have become inspired again. I have decided to try to Blog more and share my thrift store finds and enjoy meeting new friends in the Blog world, makes me feel not alone! So thanks to the comments on my last post and I am going to continue to post and 'Keep up' with things.
