Teologia dogmatica

The chapter offers a comparison of an Orthodox and a Roman Catholic approach to the foundations of sacramental theology. With each theologian the author analyses an underlying epistemology, a type of relational and symbolic understanding of God, and then asks how these influence preference either for the church or for the world as a starting point for sacramental theology. In her conclusion she suggests how both approaches could complement each other.

Entrare in una chiesa e venire letteralmente investiti dall’organo pieno
che dispiega il Preludio e fuga BWV 552 di Johann Sebastian Bach è indubbiamente un’esperienza che può farci provare una grande ebbrezza artistica e spirituale: il ripieno robusto e luminoso taglia fisicamente l’aria con onde sonore così particolari nella frequenza da penetrarci attraverso l’orecchio per giungere nelle viscere e farle fremere d’emozione, mentre le grandi ance del pedale diffondono tra le navate suoni maestosi quanto e più del ruggito di cento leoni. Una volta recuperata la razionalità e considerando lucidamente quell’esperienza così gratificante, potremmo domandarci se gli organisti che hanno ricevuto in dono il talento di vivere e far vivere una simile esperienza
sanno quali vette teologiche e mistiche impregnano quelle note che il compositore ha così sapientemente disposto. La risposta, purtroppo, nella maggioranza dei casi è che non ne hanno la minima idea. Per lo più si limitano a considerare un brano del genere unicamente come un eccezionale prodotto di artigianato musicale. Eppure Bach, nell’accostare con tanta sapienza quei suoni, prima di tutto e soprattutto vi contemplava la Trinità.

Abstract (French) :

Le synonyme le plus proche du terme "monstre" est l'expression « contre-nature » (Aristote, Saint Augustin, Canguilhem, Lascault, Cuny Le Callet, Valton, etc.). Sentence paradoxale s'il en est quand on sait qu'au niveau biologique, il est entendu que rien de ce que produit la Nature ne peut voir le jour indépendamment du respect de ses lois et qu'il est le propre de l'imagination de pouvoir y créer des exceptions.

Mais parallèlement à la Nature, objet de la biologie et de la physique, se trouve une autre « nature » : la « connaissance ordinaire » (Aristote employait pour sa part le terme de « cours ordinaire », « ὡς ἐπὶ τὸ πολύ » en parlant du statut contre-nature du monstre), cette « chose que l'organisme construit dans le but de créer un ordre dans le flux de l'expérience »

Ainsi, tout monstre peut être traduit comme étant ce qui apparaît contraire à une  « connaissance ordinaire », à une réalité sensible, dans son acception la plus large, c'est-à-dire orientée vers l'esthétique (le plus couramment rattaché à une vision anthropocentrée) et/ou vers l'éthique (intolérance idéologique).

Aussi par le partage des affects que met en œuvre une communauté d'esprits (religieuse, laïque, révolutionnaire, impérialiste, etc.), des éléments « contre-nature » peuvent apparaître à un niveau macrosociologique. Éléments émergeant de l'esprit gnostique et de son succédané l'esprit dogmatique, chacun ayant pour spécificité de mettre en exergue le dualisme entre bien et mal, connaissance et ignorance les entraînant ainsi vers l'ère de la déliquescence, de la décadence, en somme vers les temps eschatologiques et leurs abominations monstrueuses.


Abstract (English) :

The best synonym for the word ‘monster’ is the expression ‘unnatural’’ (Aristote, Saint Augustin, Canguilhem, Lascault, Cuny Le Callet, Valton, etc.). That is a paradoxical sentence - if any - when we know that biologically speaking nothing produced by Nature can exist regardless of the respect of its laws. It is among the characteristics of imagination to create exceptions.

But parallel to the Nature as objet of biology and physic is another kind of ‘nature’: the ‘ordinary knowledge’. (Artistote named it the ‘ordinary course’ (ὡς ἐπὶ τὸ πολύ) to mention the unnatural aspect of monster), this ‘thing that is produced by the organism to create an order within the experience’s flow’.

Then any monster can be understood as what appears in contrary to an ‘ordinary knowledge’, a ‘sensitive reality’ in every sense, that is to say aesthetics- (mostly associated to an anthropocentred vision) and/or ethicspositioned (ideological intolerance).

And the sharing of affections made by a minds’ community (religious, lay, revolutionary or imperialist, etc.) can reveal some ‘unnatural’ elements at the level of macrosociology. Elements that are emerging from the Gnostic spirit and its substitute: the dogmatic spirit. Each specifically brings out the dualism between good and evil, knowledge and ignorance that leads towards the decay, decline age - in other words towards eschatological times and their monstrous abominations.

The article provides a biographical and theological portrait of the Romanian Orthodox theologian Dumitru Stăniloae (1903-1993). A particular attention is given to the doctrine of creation and its place within his theological project. Stăniloae’s specific contribution is traced while examining a notion of a divine gift that precedes everything else, his Trinitarian base for the image of God, communication between the visible and invisible worlds, as well as his concept of responsive divine Providence.

Originally submitted: May, 2017. Last edited and expanded: November - December, 2024. In this research thesis we will discover that Augustine’s opinion that concupiscence was an evil, hereditary stain of original sin was not in line with the agreed-upon tradition of the earliest of Church fathers but there are strong arguments for believing that this opinion was based on non-Christian or spurious sources, the most probable direct source being the “Ambrosiaster” document. On this shaky foundation of the inheritance of concupiscence, Augustine built the idea of the massa damnata. It was a novel doctrine, since it was incompatible with the earlier Orthodox tradition. Augustine's claim that this denial of limbo and the positive damnation of unbaptized infants was part of the Catholic tradition, was a novelty to the Church universal. It was unsupported by early sources. This leads me to conclude that Augustine’s threefold philosophical structure of concupiscence, massa damnata and the positive damnation of unbaptized infants was not in accordance with “the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3b, NKJV). The lack of orthodox evidence supporting an idea of genetically inheriting sin substantially weakens the basis as proffered by Augustine.

El presente trabajo constituye una explicación del Tratado de la Trinidad de Santo Tomás de Aquino en la Suma de Teología. Siguiendo el orden del Aquinate, el presente trabajo se divide en cuatro grandes partes: las Personas divinas en general, las Personas divinas en particular, cuestiones comparativas al interior de la Trinidad, y las misiones en Dios. Se trata de una visión sintética pero profunda del planteo del Doctor angélico sobre la Trinidad.

Summary: The article deals with the principal literary genre of Pontifical teaching, the Encyclical
Letter. It reflects on its identity and the historical development it has had over the
centuries. It concentrates on some characteristic elements of the structure of such magisterial
texts, their addressees and questions related to ecclesial and theological reception, with particular
attention given to the renewed use of encyclicals in Pontifical magisterium after the
Second Vatican Council.

El 11 de octubre de 2012, con motivo del cincuenta aniversario de la apertura del Concilio Vaticano II, comenzaba el año de la fe, promulgado por Benedicto XVI. Con el mismo, el Santo Padre intenta dar un renovado impulso a la misión de toda la Iglesia, para conducir a los hombres lejos del desierto en el cual muy a menudo se encuentran en sus vidas, a la amistad con Cristo que nos da su vida plenamente. Los artículos del Credo que profesamos y creemos, son el principal instrumento para interiorizar más en el Misterio de Dios, al mismo tiem-po que nos proporcionan la síntesis teológica más rica de nuestra fe. Como su propio nombre indica, la Theo-logía es la ciencia de Dios y cómo Él se ha revelado al hombre, por tanto, tal y como es co-nocido por la fe. Entendida en toda su amplitud de facetas, la cuestión sobre Dios es la cuestión vital y más radical de toda la teología. Como escribe J. H. Nicolás, «decir que el sujeto de la teología es Dios equivale a decir que el misterio de la Santa Trinidad está en el corazón de la teología: no solamente que su estudio tiene en ella un lugar central, sino que to-do lo que se estudia en teología está en función de él y se realiza a su luz» 1. La cuestión de Dios es también la cuestión más radical de la existencia humana. En efecto, en el Dios vivo se encuentra la razón _____________ 1 J. H.

This work, divided into three segments, is aimed at examining side by side the understanding of the Consecrated life and its mission to the poor. An examination that will try to establish links and relationships between the consecrated life and the option for the poor. The first segment will deal with the understanding of the Consecrated life in general, taking into note, various bases that gives it life. The second segment will discuss the Option of the Poor while the third section will try to establish the connection(s) between the consecrated life and the option for the poor.

O que seria mais adequado: conceituar o termo “batismo” a partir do viés sacramental ou a partir do viés memorial (ordenança)? É o batismo um mero conceito dogmático? Ou seria o batismo a mera expressão de um ato de fé? Como conceber o batismo como dogma numa sociedade antidogmática? O propósito deste trabalho é responder essas perguntas e oferecer uma reflexão sobre o batismo, no seu contexto eclesiástico, como uma expressão viva da teologia bíblica. Entende-se que o batismo é uma resposta ao mandamento divino e, segundo Kevin J. Vanhoozer, é uma “ação comunicativa” entre o homem e Deus. Tomando como referência os trabalhos de Vanhoozer, e, sobretudo, Hans Urs von Balthasar, explicaremos os termos “sacramento”, “ordenança” e “dogma”. Além disso, apresentaremos a teoria teodramática, bem como explicitaremos como o batismo se enquadra dentro da hermenêutica teodramática.  A finalidade deste trabalho não é esgotar todas as nuances do conceito teodramático de “batismo”, mas, sim, apresentar uma pesquisa introdutória do conceito de batismo na teodramatica, bem como as suas dificuldades.

No Brasil o teólogo reformado Johannes Wollebius ainda é desconhecido pelo público geral. Numa busca rápida na internet, poucos textos são encontrados em português, quer escrito ou, traduzido. Em inglês também há poucos artigos ou pesquisa sobre a sua pessoa ou obra. O fato é que "Teologia Histórica" no período dos séculos XVI e XVII ainda é uma área de pesquisa pouco explorada em nosso país. O Dr Heber C. Campos Jr, dentre os reformados brasileiros, é um pioneiro no desbravamento de pesquisas e produção acadêmica do protestantismo escolástico, inclusive trazendo para o conhecimento, discussão e atraindo a atenção de outros pesquisados para este fértil campo de estudo. Apesar de ter em minha biblioteca o Compendium de Wollebius desde 2009, foi no módulo "Puritanismo e Protestantismo Escolástico" realizado em 2013 no CPAJ que despertou o interesse em conhecê-lo melhor a fim de produzir um artigo. Essa descoberta motivou-me traduzir este livro.

Introducción. En el Concilio de Nicea, por allá por el 325 se podía confesar la fe en "un solo Dios, Padre Todopoderoso y un solo Señor Jesucristo, el Hijo de Dios", pero "¿Quién no ve que este misterio puede ser abordado en dos sentidos opuestos?", pues "el Verbo se ha hecho carne, el mismo Jesucristo es hombre y Dios. Se puede primero contemplar la Unidad del Verbo hecho carne, para mirar a continuación la carne que Él ha asumido. Se puede también, en Cristo, considerar separadamente al Hijo de María y al Hijo de Dios, y preguntarse a continuación cómo estas dos formas más que el único Cristo" 1 , de ahí que surjan controversias en torno a la unidad de Cristo. La discusión principal se da entre Nestorio y Cirilo que terminan, en consecuencia, convocando el Concilio de Éfeso en el 431 para tratar dichas cuestiones. Es por ello que este trabajo tendrá como objetivo explicar cómo una comprensión racional del concepto de "unidad" en las afirmaciones cristológicas que da San Cirilo de Alejandría se llega a la formulación del dogma de María como Madre Dios. Para lo cual se intentará hacer un breve recorrido con los hitos más importantes donde se dio dicha reflexión. Es por eso que, en una primera parte, se intentará mostrar el surgimiento de la herejía cristológica de Nestorio y la respuesta de Cirilo que termina con la convocatoria del Concilio de Éfeso. Para en una segunda parte, realizar unos breves análisis a algunos anatemas que plantea Cirilo a Nestorio, y su obra ¿Por qué Cristo es uno?, de manera de intentar abordar el concepto de unidad. Y finalmente, observar cómo lo recuerda y lo aborda Pio XI en su encíclica Lux Veritatis en 1931, con ocasión de los 1500 años del mencionado Concilio. 1 Camelot, P.Th, Éfeso y Calcedonia, Ed. Eset, Vitoria, 1962, p. 16 II. Contextualización de la controversia cristológica. Existieron en el siglo IV las escuelas de Antioquia y la de Alejandría, cada una con distintas corrientes de pensamiento. La primera posee "una cierta tendencia al racionalismo" 2 , pues prefería la filosofía aristotélica y el sentido histórico y literal de las Sagradas escrituras 3 . Mientras que la segunda, estaba influenciada por el pensamiento platónico, donde se prefería una interpretación alegórica de las Sagradas Escrituras. En la de Antioquia destaca San Juan Crisóstomo, cuyo maestro fue Diodoro (+392) y su discípulo más destacado Teodoro, ambos "intentaron resolver el problema cristológico en el sentido de que la segunda Persona Divina, el logos, se había establecido en el hombre Cristo, de manera que en éste hay que distinguir dos personas, una divina y otra humana" 4 . Estas tesis, que se estaban considerando ya herejes, eran solo de carácter académico. El problema surge con Nestorio 5 , quien influenciado por su escuela antioquena va a realizar sermones a los fieles sosteniendo estas posturas. Nestorio, monje y obispo de Constantinopla en el 428, "puso al pueblo en contacto con las nuevas ideas teológicas, al predicar que no debía darse a María el título de Madre de Dios, ya que su maternidad se refería solo al hombre Cristo, pero no al logos divino que en este hombre se había alojado" 6 . Nestorio insiste en que él aceptaría que se llame a María como Theodokos, es decir aquella que ha recibido a Dios, pero no Theotokos, entendida como la que engendra a Dios. 7 Cabe mencionar que el vocablo Theotokos, ya traía una larga tradición en el cristianismo e incluso se encuentra en la más antigua oración mariana griega, en Sub Tuum, donde aparece Theotokos, en

Le propos de cette conférence n'est évidemment pas d'exposer l'ensemble de la pensée théologique de Saint Thomas sur le Christ notre Sauveur. Il s'agit plutôt de présenter les lignes fondamentales que l'on pourrait suivre pour développer aujourd'hui une théologie en même temps fidèle au dépôt unique de la foi et fidèle à la nécessité impérieuse de notre époque et de notre culture d'être évangélisées avec une ferveur renouvelée, vraiment missionnaire, 1 et vraiment apostolique dans le sens le plus théologique du mot. Voilà pourquoi j'ai pensé développer quelques réflexions sur le lien intime qui unit le peuple de Dieu au Christ. Mon point de départ c'est le centre vivant de la théologie thomiste tel que moi-même je l'ai assimilé.

Este artigo quer comparar duas abordagens à existência cristã. Uma delas é a de Paul Ricoeur, protestante e mais filosófica, enquanto a segunda é mais católica, sacramental e teológica, representada por Louis-Marie Chauvet. Vê-se na conclusão do artigo a complimentariedade destas duas abordagens. Ricoeur enfatiza a cultivação de um indivíduo, Chauvet sublinha o papel constitutivo da igreja como corpo vivo.

Es común ver en los pizarrones a la Trinidad representada por un triángulo. Sin embargo, cuando el profesor avanza enunciando las proposiciones del Dogma, la imagen del triángulo manifiesta sus límites. Es cierto que cualquier dibujo, o esquema, que pretenda representar el Misterio, tiene que ser infinitamente modesto; en algún momento se harán evidentes sus límites (de lo contrario, sería una mala representación). Pero también es cierto que unas representaciones pueden ser más elocuentes que otras para aclarar con mayor precisión el significado de las proposiciones que conforman el Dogma.

Este es un apunte diseñado para que los alumnos tengan un apoyo visual que facilite la exposición (evito deliberadamente el término "explicación") del misterio de la Santísima Trinidad.

ABSTRAKT
Niniejsze studium przedstawia zagadnienie kultu świętego Jakuba Apostoła w świetle analizy teologiczno–historycznej. Celem rozprawy jest prezentacja historii kultu Jakuba Starszego i ukazanie jego aspektów teologicznych oraz znaczenia dla współczesnego życia religijnego oraz teologii. Przedmiotem rozprawy jest życie świętego Jakuba zaprezentowane w kontekście danych biblijnych oraz apokryficznych, historyczny rozwój kultu Apostoła w Santiago de Compostela, a także innych częściach Europy. Szczególny nacisk położono na omówienie zagadnienia fenomenu ruchu pątniczego do grobu Apostoła. W dalszej części pracy zostaje poddany analizie kult świętego Jakuba w Polsce począwszy od średniowiecza, z uwzględnieniem elementów tego zjawiska pojawiających się w hagiografii i kaznodziejstwie. Ostatni rozdział prezentuje nauczanie papieskie dotyczące postaci świętego Jakuba i pielgrzymowania do jego sanktuarium w Composteli, zwłaszcza w świetle wypowiedzi papieży Jana Pawła II i Benedykta XVI. Ukazano także zarys rozwijającego się współcześnie kultu świętego Jakuba zwłaszcza jego aspektów teologicznych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem rzeczywistości polskiej.
Praca powstała w oparciu o wypowiedzi Magisterium Kościoła, literaturę historyczną i teologiczną, a także zebrane materiały konferencyjne poświęcone tej tematyce.

Unico e straordinario è il disegno di Dio: prima Cristo e poi Adamo! Come a dire: “la soluzione precede il problema”. Non esistono due progetti, come se il peccato avesse costretto Dio a cambiare piano, esiste un unico e straordinario disegno. Infatti, il peccato di Adamo può aver sorpreso Dio fino al punto da sconvolgere il suo disegno originario d’amore? La Scrittura rivela che Cristo è prima di tutte le cose, tutte sono state create per mezzo di lui (cfr. Col 1,16). Siamo stati pensati e voluti nel Redentore. All’inizio di tutto c’è Cristo morto e risorto e solo in Lui si rivela il mistero dell’uomo e della Chiesa. Il testo conduce il lettore alla scoperta di questa meravigliosa visione cristocentrica che Giacomo Biffi ha meditato e proclamato per tutta la sua vita.

El Concilio Vaticano II en la Constitución Lumen gentium muestra el misterio de la Iglesia en relación con la Santísima Trinidad. En la perspectiva como el fruto del amor, que une al Padre con el Hijo en el seno de la Trinidad: justamente con la fuerza de este amor el Padre quiso unir a toda la creación en su Hijo. Mysterium Ecclesiae surge por lo tanto de Mysterium Trinitatis. Además en el Decreto sobre la actividad misionera de la Iglesia se defi ne que: "La Iglesia es misionera por su naturaleza, puesto que toma su origen de la misión del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, según el designio de Dios Padre" (AG 2). Con esta afi rma-ción el Concilio ha defi nido en su esencia la dimensión misionera de la Iglesia, y ha reafi rmado que la predicación del Evangelio a todos los hombres es la principal tarea de la Iglesia-la salvación. En el Decreto sobre la actividad misionera de la Iglesia Concilio Vaticano II había defi nido que: "La Iglesia peregrinante es misionera por su naturaleza, puesto que toma su origen de la misión del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, según el designio de Dios Padre" 1. Con esta afi rmación el Concilio ha defi nido en su esencia la dimensión misionera de la Iglesia, y ha reafi rmado que la predicación del Evangelio a todos los hombres es la principal tarea de la Iglesia. La evangelización, unida a la historia de la salvación, es gracia y vocación del Cuerpo Místico de Cristo. Por tanto, tiene sentido la afi rmación de la Evangelii nuntiandi, de que la Iglesia es para la evangelización.

In questo quarantesimo giorno dalla Resurrezione, come la vostra benevolenza ha ascoltato or ora nella lettura, il Signore e Salvatore nostro ascese al Cielo con il Corpo alla presenza e alla vista dei discepoli, come riporta la lettura odierna, e così salì in Cielo. E la nube giunse al servizio di Cristo, non per portare aiuto a Cristo ma ossequio, e per manifestare al Signore e suo Creatore la devozione dovuta. Anzi, salendo al Cielo Cristo non avrebbe potuto aver bisogno dell'aiuto della nube, Egli che ha creato le nubi stesse assieme al mondo. Così Egli stesso parla per tramite di Salomone in nome della Sapienza quando dice: Quando egli fissava i cieli, io ero là, e quando condensava le nubi in alto, allora io ero con lui come architetto (Prv 8, 27a.28a.30). Così il Figlio di Dio allora è asceso al Cielo su una nube fra lo stupore e l'ammirazione degli Apostoli, come riporta la presente lettura, ma questa non era la sua prima Ascensione. Infatti proprio Egli dall'origine del mondo è disceso spesso dal Cielo e poi asceso. Ma in questo momento ascende al Cielo per la prima volta con il Corpo. E proprio questo è ciò di cui gli Apostoli si meravigliano, che Cristo ascenda al Cielo con la carne, quando ne era disceso senza. Ma quale meraviglia c'è nel fatto che gli Apostoli si stupiscano, dal momento che anche le Potenze Celesti erano in preda all'ammirazione? Ciò lo mostra anche Isaia quando parlando in nome degli abitanti celesti dice: Chi è costui che viene da Edom, il rosso delle sue vesti da Bosor, splendido nella sua veste, splendente come un tino riempito del succo del torchio? (Is 63, 1.2). Edom significa "terra", mentre "Bosor" carne. Questo dunque era stupefacente per gli Angeli, che colui che era nato secondo la carne sulla terra da una Vergine, colui che evidentemente aveva patito ed era stato crocifisso nella carne, con quello stesso Corpo ascese al Cielo. Poi si è anche menzionato il torchio, per dare un segno evidente della Passione in Croce del Signore. When the great Austrian novelist and philosopher Stefan Zweig wrote the monograph The Fight around a Fire. Castellio against Calvin, the images of the horrors committed by Adolf Hitler were still fresh in the writer's mind.
In fact, The Fight Around a Fire addresses, among a multitude of other topics, the theme of the man who believes himself to be the holder of the absolute truth and who, when not being listened to and people not heeding his advice, becomes extremely dangerous to society, choosing the path of physical violence to impose his ideas at any cost. In the case of this monograph, the main character is the famous Protestant theologian, Jean Calvin, whose religious paradigm has had its own share of tragic consequences – certainly on another level, but psychologically, falling into the same category – comparable to the Nazi excesses imposed on civil society.
This monograph highlights Jean Calvin's attitude in relation to other theologians of the time or to the inhabitants of Geneva, the city where he carried out most of his work and where, from the cathedral’s pulpit, he advanced his theological ideas. Of the great Swiss city, we learn that it found itself in a master-slave relationship.
However, the main idea that pervades the whole monograph – a veritable red thread that connects the various threads of the text – regards the intolerance that Calvin exhibited towards the theologians of the time who tried to have other ideas than those promoted by him.
I mentioned in the beginning the ordeal endured by millions of people at the hands of intolerance; at the same time, I want to believe that the torment endured by some people and which at first sight, is considered to be undeserved, was the way through which they live eternally today, their pain being how God chose to heal them from sins, to have them join the ranks of martyrs, of those worthy to be received in the heavenly Kingdom.
Earthly suffering is the way God shows us that He loves us even if it might seem paradoxical. This is because through this suffering – which we just have to embrace – God forgives our great and many sins. That is why I would dare to say that there are two kinds of pain in this world: pain that hurts and pain that changes...

The research studies the original and debated reflection of the Metropolitan of Pergamon John Zizioulas (1931) on the ontological freedom of God, as cause and figure of his being, linked to a personalistic conception of the Trinity, found in the teaching of the Greek Fathers of the Church, in which the person represents the primary ontological category and coincides with absolute freedom, in virtue of the Father as Trinity and One God, the incausated-free cause of Trinitarian being, beyond the necessity of nature and the contingency of choice. First, the patristic reading is presented, and then the aspects of its theological development are identified and examined.

Tăcerea nu are doar niște forme  care pot sugera realități și valori; tăcerea are un conținut real și este ea însăși o valoare. Filosoful Ludwig Wittgenstein dezvoltă o adevărată filozofie a tăcerii în lucrările sale: Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus  și Cercetări filosofice . Wittgenstein susținea că tăcerea pătrunde acolo unde cuvântul nu mai are acces. Tăcerea se dovedește prioritară și suverană cuvântului pentru că tăcerea cuprinde cuvântul și nu invers. Limita cuvântului, densitatea și amploarea tăcerii impun, de fapt, superioritatea tăcerii.
În raportul ființial cuvânt-tăcere, prima idee este aceea că tăcerea reprezintă golul, iar cuvântul plinul. Impresia este grăbită și înșelătoare și aceasta deoarece cuvintele și vorbirea aparțin lumii acesteia (creației pământești vremelnice), ca mijloace de comunicare. Experiența ne arată că de multe ori cuvintele pot fi goale, iar tăcerile pot fi nu numai pline, ci chiar pot depăși cuvintele cele mai pline .
În spiritualitatea ortodoxă tăcerea reprezintă o culme a rugăciunii. Sfântul Isaac Sirul spune în acest sens: „Cel cu adevărat smerit cu cugetul, când se apropie de rugăciune, nici nu îndrăznește să roage pe Dumnezeu ceva, sau să creadă că e vrednic de ea, sau să ceară ceva, sau să știe pentru ce trebuie să se roage; ci el tace numai cu toate gândurile sale așteptând mila” . Această practică a tăcerii lăuntrice din timpul rugăciunii a fost dezvoltată de călugării isihaști .

Der Grund dafür liegt nicht nur in den zahlreichen Auflagen, die das Buch in Deutschland erreicht hat und der Übersetzung in rund zwanzig Sprachen. Vielmehr ist dieser Erfolg einfach eine Folge der beständigen Aktualität des behandelten Themas, das sich als Versuch zusammenfassen lässt, die-natürlich vom Gläubigen, aber auch vom Nicht-Gläubigen gestellte-Frage zu beantworten, was es bedeutet, Christ zu sein. Hier berühren wir den eigentlichen Grund für die Repräsentativität der Einführung in das Christentum. Dieser Text stellt nicht nur die Frage, was es bedeutet, ein Christ zu sein, sondern versucht auch zu erklären, warum diese Frage von Gläubigen und Nicht-Gläubigen gleichermaßen immer wieder gestellt werden sollte. The teaching about repentance permeates most of the sermons and the teaching words of the great bishop. The power of repentance is precisely the resurrection of the sinner's dead soul, opening, in heaven, doors that had been closed by sin. This gift of repentance is great, since it is only for people that God has ordained it and this is because for angels there can be no repentance "because good angels can do no wrong and no mistakes and so they need no repentance"; also for devils one can not speak of repentance since they "are out of their own will hardened in deceit"; and also for animals one can not speak of repentance, because "they have no mind, no word, ever working without mistake as their nature teaches them."And Saint Anthim insists that God has given only to us, Christians, this great gift, namely repentance, because although they, too, sin, namely "the Jews, and the Turks, however repentance is not useful or helpful in any way to them, because they are outside the law".

Recuperare la “sinodalità” del popolo di Dio non significa, in prima battuta, trovare un modo diverso di “strutturare” la chiesa nel mondo, bensì comprendere cosa sia davvero la “comunione” ecclesiale affermata al Concilio Vaticano II e come occor- ra esercitare la collegialità episcopale perché sia realmente “veicolo” di sinodalità. La corretta interpretazione delle dinamiche di collegialità e di sinodalità (nonché la loro perfetta integrazione) consente alla chiesa di essere “costitutivamente sinodale” non perché si limita a riformare l’istituto del Sinodo dei Vescovi, ma perché attiva processi di “collegialità intermedia” e “sinodalità intermedia” in grado di esprimere quella “comunione ecclesiale” che è profezia nella chiesa.
