I have a lot of signs in my house. I love words. I love signs. I love wood. I like to make a statement. Some of my signs are sassy. Some are simple. And, some are just pretty (if I do say so myself). I was feeling very inspired by "Fixer Upper" and Farmhouse Style decor for this sign. I love the sweet wreath used as the "O" and the rustic charm. ...

I try to deny it all the time, but I am wreath obsessed. My latest wreath crush is on miniature versions of this home decor favorite. I have made versions to use on signs and mostly to add a little touch of Spring greenery around the house. They are great to use on mantles, in vignettes, on tablescapes - pretty much anywhere. And they are inexpensive and simple to make! ...

My creative groove has been hiding in a deep dark crevice for awhile now. I have been in Austin, Texas for almost 2 years now and am finally exploring the AMAZING options inn this city. Recently I cam across a small business called The Paper + Craft Pantry and was super excited to see their line up of DIY workshops. I have tried screen printing before and really loved it, but was a wee-teeny-tiny...

On a whim, a new friend asked me if I could make her a sign on a pallet. "Sure! I can do that." She had a vision but was also willing to let me do my thing. Really, in the end all she specified was the wording "Make Jesus Famous." This was going to be a statement piece for sure. ...

I classify these printable Valentines "oops-I-forgot-it-was-Valentines day-easy-peasy-printable -bookmarks." For some reason I am overcome with Valentines this year (which is a complete 180 from previous years - my whole life even!). I have been dreaming about kiddo Valentines. Now, all designs for Valentines MUST be 8 year old approved...and apparently she does not share my sense of humor...BUT this...

I love wood signs. It's one of my favorite ways to decorate and express myself. I am always trying to come up with new ideas and new ways to incorporate all of my loves -textiles and fibers, wood, power tools, paint, etc. - into crafts and projects. This wood cross-stitch LOVE sign for Valentines Day (or any day), does just that and is so dang cute (if I do say so myself)! ...

Do you remember those adorable Just Ducky Valentines from last year...well, guess what? The rubber duck OBSESSION continues! And it doesn't hurt that these ducky valentines were a big HIT last year. This year, my daughter wants to do them again (There is only one kiddo in her class from last year, so it is practically a new idea for everyone else).  However, this year, I designed some CUTIE-PATOOTIE...

We don't have snow here, even though my daughter wishes for it every night (chances are good it is not going to happen). It is cold but not that cold, but I thought with a few polar bear and Arctic inspired crafts we could create our own winter wonderland and appease her need for cold and snow. My daughter has been super excited to go see the movie Norm of the North. Of course polar bears and...

One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is to make ornaments with my kids, my parents, whoever happens to stop by. Did I lose you with Christmas talk already? No! No!...don't go away, I know its a wee bit early to chat about Christmas, but if you start now, you can create a bevy of beautiful handmade ornaments and make beautiful memories at the same time. The ornaments we have made over...

I made these DIY Magical Floating Ghosts for my son's first grade Halloween party. He's 14 now...so yeah, sometimes it take me awhile to get around to sharing my ideas (I did not even know what a blog was back then!). They kids loved these little ghosts. I still have the ghost my son made in first grade and my daughter was playing with it...so it was time to revamp it and share! ...

I am seriously obsessed with tote bags. I always have been. I NEVER carried a backpack in school...I always had a tote bag. Now I use them for everything, and they are perfect for shopping, the library, toys or whatever you need toted somewhere!...

Once upon a time I lived in a quirky beach town where I could do just about anything I wanted to my house. Now I live in a new HOA-governed community and  I cannot paint my door crazy colors or have lots of "treasures" hanging out  on my porch...so its a good thing I love wreaths...because that is one way I can always personalize my entrance. And I do love a gorgeous wreath! ...

I have always been obsessed with tassels. I really cannot even begin to tell you how much I love them - on shoes, pillows, blankets, jewelry...everywhere and anywhere. Since I moved to Texas, I have been Tassel-less...but not anymore! I have decided to theme my Fall decor around tassels, and here is where I am starting...DIY (easy) Yarn Tassels. ...

My daughter's class recently had a financial literacy day at school. My cutie needed a product to sell and she decided on GOO. Every once in awhile I like to tap into my mom's years and years of preschool teaching expertise...and this time it led us to the proper recipe for making GOO. My daughter is loving this ooey gooey creation...and it is pretty darn easy to make!  ...

Trying to capture and preserve my family's heritage is very important to me. It is also difficult. The older generation - the ones who remember World War II, The Great Depression, and beyond that, as it pertains to my family are gone and have been for a long while. So, I take what I can get, what I can find along the way, and do my best to honor and celebrate where I came from. This Family Heirloom...

Mother's Day is HERE (basically). I know I have no gifts for anyone...and then as I was searching for something else, I found this floursack towel I made last year (or quite possibly the year before) with my daughters artwork...TA-DA! Magical, melt-your-heart cuteness for Mother's Day! ...

Today we had a neighborhood Easter Egg hunt and my daughter wanted a special "something" to wear. It was a pretty casual party so I decided to make a Bunny T-Shirt inspired by my Bunny Banner. Now of course, I had my own ideas...but my daughter had HER OWN ideas too. She won (mostly) and I admit her idea to put stripes on the bunny was a good one! ...

In spite of my ability to complicate everything, I LOVE simple crafts. In fact, these are so simple that the kids can make them too! I also LOVE that you can use what you have - doilies, ribbon, fabric, denim - whatever suits your own personal style (and is in your craft stash) works so well for these cuties! So, let me introduce you to my little angels. ...

The other day I walked you through how to prep your concrete floors for staining or dyeing. Today (ta-da!) I am going to show you how I applied the dye and the wet look sealer. I will admit...quite a few times during this process I thought I was crazy! But, now that I am done...I LOVE these floors. They have depth, texture, warmth...and are durable! ...

In my old house, I pretty much touched every single surface - sometimes for fun, sometimes out of necessity. Well now we have moved to Texas and our house is brand new...but, of course I cannot leave anything alone! I am lucky enough to have a craft studio in my new home - one "problem"...it had carpet. I am so MESSY. I figured I was either never going to craft for fear of spilling or I was going...
