Seven Days

Image
Seven Days of Creativity. It's a start!   It's an app!   Well, not exactly a creativity app, but a calendar that allows you to post a pic everyday!     So, often I make these huge lists the first of the year, only to find them in a stack of papers in June, largely unfinished and leaving me feel like I have done NOTHING! So, this year, I decided to scrap the lists... well not completely, and try this. Finishing a project a day.     Suppose it will work? Even if it doesn't... I have SEVEN projects done!

Owls, Grasshopppers, Upholstery and Some Crocheting

Image
Edging a table runner, Upholstering some chairs,  thank goodness  JWS came to the rescue  and  helped me finish them!  One side of a mailbox,  have the other to do yet.  Daily checks on the signs of spring.  A painting class. A little bit of sewing. A craft class at Michaels with Gracelyn.  Lots of class prepwork. Some spring owls.  Still working on this bedspread.  Kendall, three days a week!  And a nursery painted.  And that's where my weeks are going!

You Might Be A Hoarder....

Image
...if you can make favors for a shower out of items in your house and not have to buy anything.   And, while you might think, "Yes, that is a hoarder."   You can add to it, this is the third shower that I have done that in the past two years. Around 120 favors and everything right in the house.   But really, you are not a hoarder if you can part with it, right?

Flowers and Finds

Apple Blossoms on the neighbor's tree. Double Tulips that are exceptionally nice this year. And... I have been cleaning up at yard sales lately! I have even managed to add a few more items to my etsy shop. Stop on over if you have a chance. https://www.etsy.com/shop/tolentreasures?ref=search_shop_redirect   I am trying to add new items daily.   Canister set, that I have not decided if I am keeping it or not. The cake carrier to match. Vintage recipe box. I might just paint this. And these owls!  25 cents!    They promptly went on the wall in the camper  to cover a place that that trim was missing!   Stop on over, EllieJ is shaping up!   http://restoringavintagecamper.blogspot.com/2013/05/more-decor.html

Owls and a Rare Cooking Success

Image
Not entirely my own idea, these were adapted from this website. http://moonstitches.typepad.com/moonstitches/2007/11/zakka-style-owl.html I changed a few things to make them a little different. These were the first, I have some different thoughts for the next batch. Put wings on some, feather scallops on the belly, add some burlap... oh, the possibilities. \   Success! And another success. Those of you who follow this craziness on Facebook, will know the condition of the Easter Eggs and the unsuccessful Bunny Rolls. Those of you who don't follow on Facebook, well, I will just leave all that to your imagination. I CAN cook, just don't really LOVE to cook.  My cooking "process" seems to provide people with entertainment. So much that some people think that I need my own cooking show. I might be a little clumsy in the kitchen... anyhow, Artistic Cooking totally escapes me. A beautiful ...

My Knit the Bridge project is finally done! JWS and I are heading to Pittsburgh today. Dropping this off at Pittsburgh Center for Creative ReUse is on our list for the day. So is the Gold Medal Popcorn Company for an open house and fair food. and JWS wants to eat Pho which I always thought the word would look like FA (glad I saw this prior to perusing the menu) at Pho Minh Of course there will be a stop at Construction Junction No trip to Pittsburgh is complete without a slide through there to check if there is anything I can't live without. And we will see where the rest of the day leads us. It is mini-day-vacation of sorts. I have this order done! For the pattern, look here or here   No link here, I just can't believe that after all these years with no house plants, I finally have one and it is blooming. Who would have thought?   Trying to work on my selling blog. This stuff is pili...

A New Project

Image
And what a great change.   I haven't worked with wool for awhile and I am hoping for the best, and using lots of Eucerin and taking Benedryl at night as a precaution.   I love wool, just have problems with it sometimes.   But first, there is this mess. But it is getting organized... somewhat. Lots more to go!   There may even be a free pattern, watch for it!

Hoot, Hoot

Perusing Pinterest can suck up a lot of time. Anyone who has taken the plunge and joined can attest to that. However, that being said, it is a great place for inspiration. Had something like this in my mind, for all those sample books of fabric that my Mom's friend sends to me. So, above was the prototype and... of course, I had to get a little carried away. My girls would say, "Another manic moment, Mom?" I call it Stash Busting. And, these were from last week. Turning some samples, ideas, and plain,  just stuff laying around, into barrettes. That's it, folks. I am still recovering from the weekend of little boys. I think that they wore me out!

Candy Laxatives, WD 40 and my husband's ex-wife

Ok Back up a month. I started Weight Watchers again. A couple of years ago I joined and was pretty successful at it. Then life, an operation and some other stuff happened and I didn't go back. And slowly (well not EXACTLY slowly) I gained it back. Well some/most of it. But I am not going to bore you with that whole month. Wednesday night, let's start with that. I have WW meeting and I buy some of the oatmeal and these little candies. Cappucino And they are good, Really good. I eat a couple on the way home from the meeting. You can have six for one point. That's a lot of sweet! Thursday AM I try the oatmeal. It is also good. I pick up Kendall for her weekly day with MaMa. I have a couple candies. Go to work. I have a couple more. Noon Thursday. Not to be indelicate, and so many of my posts involve poop... But let's just say that much of Thursday afternoon was spent in the bathroom. Lots of Thursday afternoon. Take Kendall home at 6:30 and the 20 mile drive back home is ...
