437 Reasons Why JWS Should Not Be Unsupervised At An Auction

Image
Laughing and chuckling at  10:30 last night,  JWS  arrives home from the auction where he was  serving food. Two indicators that it was about to go bad: 1. The truck is sitting at the side door and not in the garage. 2. The side door is propped open.  And He is excited about his finds.... As a side note,  I did not go to this auction because: 1.  I am still tired from the fair. 2. The cleaning lady was supposed to come today and I did not want a mess.  Apparently,  JWS did not get that memo.  So this morning found me  washing  and  sorting and  cleaning and  wiping.  Piles to be junked, piles to go back to the auction, piles of treasures for other people, a small pile to keep and  piles to be priced to go to the shop. He did get some good finds, But there was a lot of sorting to find them.  ...

Inspiration from a friend.

My friend, Lesley over at Harmony Road Studio , does these great ATC's. One morning, while perusing blogs, (which I don't seem to have enough time to do lately) I saw the ATC in her blog and got inspired. Not a bird lover myself, I changed it up a little. Mardi Gras, Lent, New Orleans. That was the theme. And an order finally finished. Why do I procrastinate so much? And a couple of more owls. And before you think... Cathy, you get so much done? Where do you find the time? Don't bronze my craft supplies yet. This is what my family room looks like right now. Hoarder?  Maybe. You see, eight years ago, I sold my house to my step-daughter and son-in-law. I married JWS and less than a month later, Jenn and Chris got engaged. That fall they bought my old house. They remodeled, time slipped past and I never got the attic cleaned out.  She didn't need it, and I put it off. NOW, they have moved next door to us. and they think that they have their old house (my old house) s...

Stitching

Image
Gracelyn spent the night on Thursday and she wanted to "stitch".  I gave her the "treasure box" as she calls it and a tapestry needle with crochet cotton and she stitched buttons all evening and part of the next morning.  What a difference between having her and having the boys.  John calls the boys "the Rotties" because he likens having them to having a couple of Rottweillers and her to having a goldfish.  How true!  She is just so calm and easy and she doesn't run faster than we are able.  Which brings me to the sight of John chasing Tyler last week.  Tyler had once again hit Logan in the head with a golf ball.  I can't tell you how many times this has happened this summer and honestly, I swear that the golf balls are like heat seeking missiles to Logan's head.  This last time sent Tyler running with John in hot pursuit. The sight of the the 51 year old grandpa chasing the really fast 5 year old was enough to make me chuckle despite the fac...
