Last year after Christmas, this little red bird tree was on sale in a catalog that I like. I got it for Aunt Sue because she loves red birds...Hey Lisa..I know you do too.

Today's Christmas Plate is by Gail Pittman pottery and I don't know what she calls this pattern but I call it ornaments. I think this is one of my favorite plates.

Front Door Friday and Christmas plate

Finally a front door Friday picture. Stay tuned for next Friday's front door...they hired a decorator to do it and it's so pretty.

Yummy...Aunt Sue and I look forward to these every December at a local bakery. They doubled in price this year...boo.

Today's Christmas Plate is Lenox Holiday Millennium edition. It's so pretty.

I'll be working all weekend again...glad to have the work too.

Has anyone tried the POM tea? I have NEVER like tea at all ever...but this stuff is okay to me, which means it's probably good to people who like to drink tea. I am trying to find the POM light tea instead of this real sugary tea.

Little Drum and some stores

Today's Christmas plate is what I call the little drum. It does not have title on the back of the plate. It's made by Gail Pittman from Mississippi. She has an outlet store in Foley, Alabama. I've seen Paula Deen use some of here pieces on her show.

The other day mama and I went to the beach to a shop out there called Geronimo's Outpost. It was so nice. There are little areas of the store designated to different artist and different shops that are established somewhere else. It's like going to the thing that the Junior League puts on near holiday time ... what they call Market Basket in P'Cola. I thought they had some really pretty things.

These shell items were so pretty.

These shell boxes and mirrors caught my eye.

A shell box and frame.

This was so pretty. The headboard made with shells.

This would make a lovely bedroom look.

These shorts were on sale from $50 to $19. Looks Hollywood to me.

This area had a lot of nice jewelry and purses and beach-type items.

I love gingerbread figures and my mama bought these for me while we were there.

I love these beachy-type signs. So colorful and cheerful.

This gold dress is so pretty but so small.

Don't you need a tiki figure for your house or yard?

This wallhanging is made from coconut wood, I think.

Mama and I had such a good time looking in this store that we decided to go to some stores in downtown P'Cola after that. This is the front door to a store that had some lovely items in it. They also had a sweet doggy named Jack that greeted everyone at the door.

I kind of like this wall hanging.

That was such a fun day, I think mama and I will have to go on more of these shopping/looking around days while it's cool outside.

Santa's Ride and redneck table

Today's Christmas plate is Santa's Ride...part of the Holiday Collector's Plates by Lenox. This is from 2002.

When I saw this yesterday morning, I didn't know whether to laugh or say something ugly to the husband. We don't have a little end table in the living room, so he was using this step stool to do something and decided it made a handy end table for his drinks and assorted things while he sits in the chair at night. I guess I need to get busy finding some kind of nice table. This is so "redneck."

Holly Tree plate and Sugar after her stroller ride

Today's Christmas plate is called Holly Tree and it's made by Noble Excellence...I think that's a store brand from Dillards.
Here is a video of Sugar after she had been on her stroller ride. There's one video of her when she gets out of the stroller and she is so excited. She loves going on the rides. Yesterday a three little children getting off the school bus were petting her. The other video is when I let her back in the house after the stroller ride, she runs to her toys and shakes them. She loves the little pink purse and picks it out the most over all the others. I'm not sure how to delete the extra video...but it's the same video as the other one ...just so you don't bother watching it twice.

Luminary gifts in memory of ChiChi, Tiny and Baxterman

Girlville and her husband made donations in Chichi and Tiny's honor to their local SPCA when they passed away. They also memorialized them with a brick that will be made and placed at a certain time. I think that is so neat to think that Chichi and Tiny will have their names placed in a walkway forever! When Baxterman passed away, they made a donation in his name and Chichi and Tiny's names to the SPCA and they were remembered with a luminary that was placed on the SPCA's open house luminary walk this past Friday. Girlville sent me these pictures to share.

Thank you so much Girlville and Girlville Husband for remembering and honoring our little pugs and donating to a good cause in their memory.

Luminary for ChiChi.

Walkway of luminaries in memory of loved pets.

Today's Christmas plate is really a platter, but I think it's pretty as a plate...just a tad bigger than a regular plate. It's made by Fitz and Floyd and it's called Winter Holiday. I can't remember if mama or Aunt Sue gave it to me or if I bought it. Maybe they will remember and tell me. I should get another china pen and write on the back. I used to do that and then lost the pen. I would write who gave me the plate and the year.

I'm thinking about all our Northern friends today who are probably really cold up there. Sounds good to me but I wouldn't know how to deal with that snow! It was 75 here yesterday and humid and we were sweating outside putting up some decorations...because of the humidity. But I hear it should get cold here tonight.

wedding gift Christmas plate

This Christmas plate also has a matching bowl. This was given to us as a wedding gift by a couple who are good friends of the husband. We got married and did not have wedding ceremony and just a few close friends and family gave us gifts. We got married in May and this gift came to us in December that year. I really love it. It's brass underneath and painted on top. "dumb" me put some kind of nut candy mixture in it when having people over during the holidays. I decided I should wash it in the sink...big mistake. It ruined it. I was able to call the gift shop where they purchased it and they got me another one. Now I have the plate hanging on the wall and bowl on a table in the living room.

I started reading a book that is good but I'm so tired from all the transcription that I'm not reading too fast. I may not finish this thing for another week or two.
I bought some chocolate chips last night to do a new recipe that I want to share in Girlville's cookie exchange...and the husband opened the choco chips and ate some...boo. That, of course, caused me to eat a lot of them, and then he finished them off today. So I'll have to start over when I go to the store soon.

I might try a Paula Deen casserole recipe this week, too, if the parents come this way. If I do it, I'll try to get it on here to show y'all. The husband will not eat food mixed together like a casserole (weirdo) so I have to wait until I have more people come over to fix something like that.
