Christmas 2015

Camden gave me a jigsaw puzzle just because and we enjoyed putting it together while we waited for the lasagne to bake.  We had walked to the Christmas Eve service at the Pierce's church which meets in the middle school.

Camden painted letters for me and Jennifer.

I got just what I asked for - a miniature quilt book and a table stand to display a miniature quilt.

Camden got a can cozy from Kenna - too funny!

The mystery gift - a selection of beer for Kevin.  Cullen's reading about his Chick Magnet shirt - hope he likes it!

And the squirrel saga continues.  These were particularly appropriate since Amy had just seen the albino squirrel that lives on the UNT campus.  Jennifer had purchased these before Amy saw Al.

Kevin and Camden joking around in Camden's 9XL hoodie - he likes his clothes BIG!

Jennifer brought Christmas crackers and they were a hit!  Cullen said that needs to be a tradition!

We decorated ugly Christmas sweater cookies.  I had bought the kit and asked Amy to make the cookies.  They turned out to be a lot of trouble!  She returned the cookie cutter to me!  Guess I'll have to make them next year!

Robert's was a dog!

Kenna's was artistic, of course!

Camden's was a layered heart - love it!

December Activities

Ron refurbished the porch candles his dad had made years ago.  They sure brighten up my porch.  Thought I'd give them to Amy but I think she'll have to wait on them a few years.

We visited Leigh & Roy Karnes December 14-16 and had a wonderful time.  Leigh loves Christmas and the house was decorated to the hilt!  Really helped me get in the Christmas spirit - so much that I bought a few new decorations to spruce up our house!

We met the Matsons in Lufkin for dinner - it was so good to see them again and reminisce about our years together.

On December 18th we attended our Sunday School Department party at our church.  We were well-fed with a potluck dinner and we were entertained by Sharon Driggers' nephew, Jeff Berry.  A delightful evening with our church family.

My Christmas Cactus bloomed its heart out this year.  Guess it really liked the summer it spent outside under the trees.

November Catch Up

We celebrated birthdays in November - Jennifer's was Nov. 8th and Amy's was Oct. 31st.

I donated this quilt to Bear Creek Quilt Guild to be given to the Lion's Club as a thank you for the use of their building during the summer.  Our regular meeting place was being renovated.

Lisa Lerner did a great job quilting and binding it.

Aunt Gracie Strips quilt top

This Aunt Gracie Strips quilt top was made from leftovers Loretta Brennan gave me when she was cleaning out her Aunt Gracie stash.  It will ...
