New Landscaping

Ron has worked hard this month, replacing the landscaping on the driveway side of our house.  I added some color after he did his part.  It has been quite a project for him but looks so much better.  After 20+ years, some of those bushes were huge.  We hope we've chosen some low maintenance plants that will stay a reasonable size, at least for a while.  We already have blooms on the knockout roses.

 Sweet potato vine
 Knock-out rose
Azaleas and holly fern
 Begonias and prostrate Japanese yew
Dianthus in front of our kitchen window.
Begonias and impatience in front of the guest bedroom.

April finishes

I was busy this month, working on several projects.  The first one was adding the sashing to the Home of the Brave top.  I love working on these tops for our Quilting For Christ group.  After they are quilted and bound they will be sent to the HOB coordinator for distribution to a family of a fallen soldier.

The mainly turquoise top was a second one from the Bonnie Hunter workshop last year.  I had a few parts finished but made most of it last week.  It will stay on a hanger until I hear of a need for it.

The third top is made from a panel.  I cut the blocks apart and sashed with the red fabric, then bordered with the dark doggie fabric.  It will go to Trinity Valley Quilt Guild for their community service quilts.  A longarmer will quilt it and then it will go to the county charity hospital.
