The Coconut tree & Wishes!

This is my 1 yr old Coconut tree! Previously it was heavily infested by some kind of pest. It's outside the gate and little care was given. 2 months back I sprayed the whole tree. All the crawling pest came out of the tree. Now it's growing well!

Coconut tree is labelled as the most important plant by Indians! I think many Asian people have same opinion! In Malaysia it's called "pokok seribu guna" - The plant with 1000 usage!

The young coconut as well as the old coconut is expensive in Malaysia now! I wonder why the native fruits are getting expensive year by year! Apples are cheaper here compared to papaya , bananas and coconuts! But we don't have a single apple tree in Malaysia! Apples not meant to be planted in Malaysia!

Anyway, if all goes well I will have constant supply of coconuts in 2 years time! Lesson learnt! Don't take any plant for granted!

It's going to be long holiday here in Malaysia. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2017! Hope all of us have a prosperous year ahead and live a happy, healthy and wealthy life in 2017!

papaya & WIshes!

Papaya fruits are getting bigger. I have 3 papayas to harvest if all goes well!

While I was young, papaya was very cheap fruits sold in wet market. I can buy one big fruit for RM1 but now it's weight and priced per kg!  1 small fruit can cost almost RM4 !  I wonder why the cost went so high . It's just another local fruit!

I should open a papaya farm and I will get rich fast! hahahha...

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MOM! Have a great day!

Starfruits & New year wishes

Starfruit flowering again! I do not know if starfruit is seasonal or flowering plant throughout the year plant!

Little fruit start hanging once again on the tree!

I choose to pluck and ripe them in the basket near kitchen. I will add sugar or salt to eat them!

It's final week before year end. To all blogger friends Happy New Year 2016! Hope all of us have wonderful year ahead!

My garden resolution for 2016:

1) to plant more vegetables for cooking
2) maximise the garden area for vegetable gardening
3) Create good resting area in garden surrounded by hibiscus
4) minimize usage of pesticides - this is something hard as the hot weather combined with high humidity create good environment for the pest!

You have any resolution for 2016?

GBBD - Dec 2015

December suppose to be rainy season in Malaysia. Usually it will be raining day and night. Very wet season. But this year rainy season seems to have shifted in front. It was so wet in October and November. Now I see sun most of the days! World is really facing drastic weather changes I guess!

Flowering plants do enjoy basking in sun! I can see Hibiscus everywhere. In full bloom!

Cape Honeysuckle flowers are so radiant under the hot sun!  Butterflies flying over this plant. The flowers must have sweet nectar! I love butterflies but dreaded the babies! The wriggly caterpillars can eat almost all the leaves in one day!

Zinnia a come back!

Flowers are everywhere to be seen!

This is for GBBD Nov 2015. What's flowering in your garden now? I'm adding this post to GBBD hosted by May Dream Flowers at may dream flower

To all Blogger friend who are celebrating Christmas, wish you all MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

New Year 2015

It's 3 more days before New Year 2015!

2014 had so many ups and downs! All to be remembered, learned from and appreciated!

I never really concentrated on the garden on the 1st half of the year. Nevertheless the garden plants and vegetables have survived well! Pest are doing a lot of damage when I turn my back. For 2014, snail was my biggest enemy! I have declare war with them. I can't tolerate and have peace with them.

One of my resolution for year 2014 was to reduce pesticide however, I didn't achieve the target. Hope I will be more environmental friendly  next year!

I hope 2015 bring more joy and Happiness to all of us!

All my previous batches of beans was munch down by the snails.

Now since they are no where to be seen, I have sowed and transplant the new batches of beans seedling to the ground. Currently they are sharing the bed with the chillies.

The little green beans is learning to climb the trellis. They have very soft stem. Hope they give handful of harvest for my cooking!

I would like to wish HAPPY DEEPAVALI to all Hindu bloggers and Happy holidays to all others in Malaysia since it's Public Holiday on Wednesday. To the rest have fun. Hope all of us have very wonderful time with our loved ones!

New Year resolution.....!

While young, in school my teacher will ask us to write about our new year resolution every year without fail! We would write a long list and even share between each others! I think most of us do not really follow the resolution but give the list to the teacher to impress them only! hahhaha,.....

But this habit of writing resolution continues until now! Nowadays I don't write or think a long list but a few which I really would like to follow!

1) I have minimize the usage of pesticide last year. I would like to continue it this year as much as possible!
2) I want to plant more vegetables in the vegetable bed which is currently contain weeds. At least harvest as much as possible my own vegetables!

3) maintain back all my flowering plants that I have left last year

4) To spent more time in the garden, get my hand dirty!

5) I have lost a lot of plants last year like zinnia, plumbago,my pink hibiscus, marigold, balsam, etc! I hope I will handle my plants more carefully even though they are abundance this year!

So How about you? Any new year resolution for 2014?
