Papaya trees are getting very tall. With a "A" shape ladder we can't reach out for the fruits. Many fruits hanging on the trees!
I need to cut the trunk so that it will grow again. However this strategy is not very promising. If I let them grow, soon it will be unreachable to pluck the fruits and the tree might uproot on strong wind! I'm really thinking on how to deal with the tree now.
The paper marks the maximum level we could climb by ladder.
Anyone have experience this problem? How you tackle them? I'm a bit unwilling to chop down the trees. All the 3 trees are really good in producing fruits!
We have the same issue with our plum trees but it is easy to lower the branches as the fruit and leaf growth are not all at the top of the tree like your papaya

DeleteDulu saya ada sepokok papaya yang tinggi melepasi bumbung. Bila buah makin mengecil saya pun tebang. Setelah tebang habis baru kawan bagitau lain kali tebang separuh saja dan tutup keratan batang dengan tin. Nanti pucuk baru akan tumbuh dan pokok akan berbuah semula.
