Review: Call Me by Your Name
Call Me by Your Name by André Aciman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book is hypnotically beautiful. The problem is that the flow is so wonderful that you can't easily put it down if you're trying to just read for a few minutes.
I have a hard time picturing this as a movie, just because it is so lovely on its own. I imagine I will watch it anyway.

Review: The Unfortunate Decisions of Dahlia Moss
The Unfortunate Decisions of Dahlia Moss by Max Wirestone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This book made feel old. I've read YA books that didn't age me a s much as this one. There were just a lot of references I did not get. To be fair, the author did do a pretty good job of explaining some of them. Despite this, I did find myself laughing out loud a few times and chuckling to myself frequently.

Review: Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House
Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House by Michael Wolff
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I always turn Trump off when I see him speaking because it feels like I'm missing the better half of a Clutch Cargo cartoon. It is interesting reading more complete transcripts. They are crazier that I thought.
This book could have benefited from a better editing job. Perhaps that was sacrificed when they pushed up the publication date.

I'm not sure I understand what the point was supposed to be but it was beautiful storytelling.

Not what I was expecting. More critique than bio. Thoughtful and insightful though.

Review: The Women in the Castle
The Women in the Castle by Jessica Shattuck
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I'd been wanting to read this one for a while and it did not disappoint. It's a WWII story so you have an idea what to expect but this is still a well told tale.

Review: Pachinko
Pachinko by Min Jin Lee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What an amazing and epic tale!!
I want to get a hard copy of this to add to my collection. I need to track down an autographed copy. Being the true artist she is, Min Jin Lee should sign all her work.

Review: Fast Food Genocide: How Processed Food is Killing Us and What We Can Do About It
Fast Food Genocide: How Processed Food is Killing Us and What We Can Do About It by Joel Fuhrman
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
Not as well organized as his other books. When he starts talking about race problems in the south, eugenics, and the ideas Hitler had right....way off on a tangent. Made it hard for me to come back around to his point after all that.

The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael A. Singer

He makes it sound very simple when it obviously is not, but it kinda should be. Definitely a worthy goal to aspire to.

Review: Why We Don't Suck
Why We Don't Suck by Denis Leary
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Didn't really make me laugh out loud but I did smile plenty while reading this. And how often can you say that of the average book you read? I actually blame my "in head" delivery of the lines for the lack of out loud chuckles. I'm sure Dr. Leary's delivery would have been much more effective.
