Cress (The Lunar Chronicles, #3)Cress by Marissa Meyer

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I think book 1 is still my favorite so far but I do really enjoy this series. To be honest, the best part for me was the ending because it made it clear that there was still much to come. I'm just curious to see which fairy tales get incorporated in the future.

Courting GretaCourting Greta by Ramsey Hootman

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked that this was not a "typical" romance novel. It was so much more like real life with all its messes and problems. That may have made it all the more sweet of a story. On a side note, I kept picturing Cass as looking like an older version of Bree of Tarth from Game of Thrones. Gotta love those impressive Amazons!!

Curtsies & Conspiracies (Finishing School, #2)Curtsies & Conspiracies by Gail Carriger

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Carriger is one of those rare authors that I will try to run out and grab her new books whenever they come out. Her writing is so entertaining, original, and enjoyable that I never tire of it. I adore the laugh out loud silliness and and gobble up her stories like an ill-mannered young lady at her first tea party.

Calling Me Home: A NovelCalling Me Home: A Novel by Julie Kibler

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I'd been wanting to read this book for a while now so was happy to finally get to it. The comparisons listed with To Kill a Mockingbird and The Help are pretty appropriate, except that there really wasn't any of the humor found occasionally in The Help. I read most of this book during my down time at work and had a hard time keeping from tearing up in front of my co-workers. I've already recommended this to a few people and would encourage anyone to read it.

I received a free copy of this book from GoodReads First Reads.

The Calorie Myth: How to Eat More and Exercise Less with the Smarter Science of SlimThe Calorie Myth: How to Eat More and Exercise Less with the Smarter Science of Slim by Jonathan Bailor

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So often, when you read diet books, you think "this sounds great. I'm going to try this." Not going to lie, thought the same thing reading this. The thing I really liked about this is that it debunked a lot of the theories we've gotten used to over the years and have proven not to work. It takes a look at real science and not government recommendations that have really no basis in reality. I follow a diet that is about 75% similar to this plan anyway so it's not going to be a stretch for me to try this.

Tin Star (Tin Star, #1)Tin Star by Cecil Castellucci

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I couldn't get in to this story at all. Maybe when the other books come out it will be more cohesive. It is meant to be a YA book so I may have enjoyed it more if I were younger.

This review is based on an advanced copy I received from the publisher.

The Harm in Asking: My Clumsy Encounters with the Human RaceThe Harm in Asking: My Clumsy Encounters with the Human Race by Sara Barron

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

There were a few funny stories in this book but I couldn't help but get the impression that if I met this author in person, I'd think she was completely insane and try to avoid her at all costs.
