Colorful Cacti Pot Card II (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Happy Friday! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Colorful Cacti Pot Card II:o)

To make this card I was inspired with my own two cards I created last year: Masculine Snake Card and Colorful Cacti Pot Card. :o)

I used GORGEOUS Jane's Doodles 'Cactus' stamp setI love succulents and cactus!! :o)

With some masking, I stamped a cactus/succulent pot on a Kraft Paper panel using pre-made masks. After removing masks, I fixed some lines with black fine liner. I colored the image with colored pencils and used Stabilo fine liners for extra shading.

Then I stamped a sentiment on the panel, overlapping the pot and triangles. I colored triangles with colored pencils.

Lastly, I glued the panel on a white top folded card base. To add more interest to my card, I outlined the cacti pot, sentiment and triangles with white pigment ink and my card was finished. :o)

Card dimensions: 98 mm x 131 mm (3 7/8" x 5 1/8")

List of supplies:

Masculine Snake Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

This is my third post today. If you missed previous two, just scroll down or follow direct links here and here.

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this CAS (clean and simple), Masculine Snake Card.

To make this card, I used stamps from three Jane's Doodles stamp sets. Super fun snake is from 'Smile' stamp set, sentiment from 'Double Trouble' stamp set and tiny triangle from 'Cactus' stamp set.

I stamped the snake, sentiment and triangles on a Kraft cardstock paper panel. I colored the snake and triangles with TOZ Artist Color colored pencils. These pencils are great. Love them!! :o)

I colored snake's eyes and teeth with white gel pen. To add more interest to my card, I outlined images and sentiment with white pencil. Lastly, I glued the panel on a white side folded card base and my card was finished. :o)

Card dimensions: 121 mm x 89 mm (4 3/4 x 3 1/2")

Geometrical Birthday Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Geometrical Birthday Card.

To make this card, I used three beautiful Jane's Doodles stamp sets'Plants', 'Cactus' and 'Geometric Patterns' (stamp set is discontinued from Jane's store).

First I made a background panel/patterned panel. I used a triangle stripe pattern from the 'Geometric Patterns' stamp set, inked the stripe with Distress Ink Iced Spruce and stamped it on a watercolor paper panel couple times to create a pattern. I also used a tiny triangle stamp from the 'Cactus' stamp set to create the pattern. I stamped tiny triangles overlapping larger triangles. I followed the same pattern and got beautiful geometrical background/paper/panel. I trimmed the panel, glued it on a grey cardstock paper panel and glued everything on a top folded white card base.

Next up was an image. I stamped a plant from the 'Plants' stamp set on a thick watercolor paper, colored the plant in watercolor technique using Distress Ink Iced Spruce and Green aquarel colored pencils. After drying, I added extra shades on leaves with Green colored pencils and drew white highlights. I fussy cut the plant, leaving thin white border around her.

I heat embossed in white a sentiment from the 'Plants' set on the grey cardstock paper stripe, glued foam squares on the back of it and placed it on the card.

I glued foam squares on the back of the plant and placed her on the card. I like dimension difference, so I used 1 mm thicker foam squares for the plant than for the sentiment.

As a finishing touch, I embellished the card with light and dark grey enamel dots.

Card dimensions: 92 mm x 122 mm (3 5/8" x 4 13/16")

    Colorful Christmas Tree Shaker Card

    Hi everyone! :o)

My third post today... If you missed previous two, just scroll down or follow direct links here and here. This is also my 400 post! :o)

My second card today is this Colorful Christmas Tree Shaker Card.

For this card, I went with a same design as on my card I shared earlier today, here.

I cut a designer paper panel slightly smaller than a card base, cut out a triangle window on it and glued acetate sheet on the window.

I made my own shaker mix from various sequins and droplets, filled the window with the shaker mix and glued the panel on the card base.

Lastly, I glued a white panel inside the card to make it thicker and more stable, because front of the card was quite heavy and card couldn't stand.

    Card dimensions: 101 mm x 133 mm (4" x 5 1/4")

    List of supplies:
    • Create a Smile 'Snow Dance' kit
      • designer paper
      • sequins
    • droplets from Create a Smile 'Beach Party' kit
    • green sequins (unknown manufacturer)
    • white cardstock paper
    • acetate sheet
    • foam sheet 3 mm thick
    • double sided strong adhesive tape
    • Fiskars High Precision Personal Paper Trimmer
    • acrylic block (102 mm x 102 mm)
    • bone folder
    • ruller
    • eraser

Peace and Joy Shaker Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

    Hi everyone! :o)

On Thursday, January 12th, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Peace and Joy Shaker Card.

To make this card, I used two Jane's Doodles stamp sets'Christmas Blessings' and 'Winter Wishes'.

I was inspired with cards I made in November 2016, where I used triangle shapes to create Christmas trees. You can find them here.

I cut a white cardstock paper panel slightly smaller than a card base, cut out a triangle window on it and heat embossed in white snowflakes on it.

Then I heat embossed in white a sentiment on an acetate sheet, glued the acetate on the panel and glued 3-D foam sheet on the back of the panel.

I made my own shaker mix from various beads, sequins, droplets... filled the window with the shaker mix and glued the panel on the card base.

Lastly, I glued another white panel inside the card to make it thicker and more stable, because front of the card was quite heavy and card couldn't stand.

    Here is a short video...

    Card dimensions: 101 mm x 133 mm (4" x 5 1/4")

Golden Christmas Trees Cards (Fairy Tale Challenge #156)

    Hi everyone! :o)

Today a new challenge started at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

Our theme for this fortnight is #156, Gold und Silber / Gold and Silver . You can use only one or both colors, combine them with other colors... We just want to see some gold and/or silver on your creations. :o)

This time our lucky winner will win this lovely Snowflakes clear stamp set. So cute... :o)

And here is what I came up with: Golden Christmas Trees Cards. :o)

Inspiration for these cards came from Pinterest. There are so many gorgeous triangle Christmas tree cards all over the web. :o)

Couple of years ago, I bought Marbling colors at sale. I've never marbled before and I wanted to try something new. I tried them on plastic ornament balls, but it was so ugly, I gave up from those colors. I put them in my medium box and waited for the moment I'll give them one more chance. This challenge was perfect to pull those colors on my crafting table and try them one more time, because only gold color I have is Marbling color. :o)

For trees I used Canson XL Mixed Media Paper. Great textured paper, which is smooth on a reverse side.

I marbled a paper panel on the reverse side. After drying, I cut two acute isosceles triangles from marbled paper and two more from uncolored paper.

With my trees done, I was ready for the next stage of making these cards.

I stamped a sentiment from Jane's Doodles 'Mr. & Mrs. Claus' stamp set on white cardstock paper panels and glued them on white top folded card bases. I arranged trees and glued them on cards. To add some dimension to my CAS (clean and simple) cards, I added some foam on upper trees.

Here are photos of each card...

I had so much fun marbling paper, I marbled bunch of them in various colors. I'll be using those in my future projects, I think. :o)

    Dimensions of both cards: 101 mm x 140 m(4" x 5 1/2")

    List of supplies:
    • Jane's Doodles 'Mr. & Mrs. Claus' stamp set (sentiment)
    • white cardstock paper (card base)
    • Canson XL Mixed Media Paper, 300 g
    • Ranger's Archival Ink (Jet Black)
    • UHU universal glue
    • foam tape 2 mm thick
    • acrylic block (102 mm x 102 mm)
    • Fiskars High Precision Personal Paper Trimmer
    • scissors
