Thanks a Latte Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Thanks a Latte Card:o)

To make this card I was inspired with a monochromatic color scheme I used on my own card that I made last year (here). I really really like it. :o)

For this card I used stamps from two ADORABLE Jane's Doodles stamp sets'Coffee Time' and 'Outdoors'.

How I made this card...

I stamped a moose on a watercolor paper, masked his "arm" and stamped a coffee cup that he holds. I drew lines on the cup with a black fine liner. I colored the image in watercolor technique using  only one color, a Distress Ink Ground Espresso.

After drying, I fussy cut the moose and traced edges with a black marker. Then I stamped another moose on a white cardstock paper, colored him in black, fussy cut him, leaving thin white border around him, and glued watercolored moose over him. I did this because the watercolor paper I use is very thin and I needed a bit thicker image. As a finishing touch, I drew white details on reindeer's scarf using a white pigment ink and black fine liner. :o)

Then I worked on a background. I randomly stamped coffee cups and pots on a Kraft cardstock paper panel using a Distress Ink Picket Fence. At first the color was so pale, barely visible, but after drying it got stronger, whiter.

At this point my background looked a bit boring, so I colored coffee cups and pots with a white colored pencils.

Next up was a sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a Kraft cardstock paper stripe. I trimmed the stripe to a desirable size and all parts for my card were ready to assemble.

I glued the panel on a white top folded card base, glued 3-D foams on the sentiment stripe and the moose and glued them on the card. As a finishing touch, I embellished the card with brown enamel dots. :o)

Birthday Moose with Balloons Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today I want to share with you a card I made for my spotlight over at Jane's Doodles on October 16. That was the day I traveled to Ivanić-Grad. I was so busy, I couldn't find time to share it prior today here.

And here's my card: CAS (clean and simple), Birthday Moose with Balloons Card. :o)

I made this card for my niece Iva, my cousins daughter, who celebrated her 1st birthday couple days ago. The card arrived on time. :o)

To make this card I used stamps from three beautiful Jane's Doodles stamp sets: a moose from 'Outdoors' stamp set, a balloon from 'Monster Squad' stamp set and a sentiment from 'Belated Birthday' stamp set.

How I made this card...

I stamped a moose on a watercolor paper. With some masking, I stamped balloons on the watercolor paper. After removing masks, I drew balloon strings.

I watercolored the moose and balloons using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the image and traced edges with black marker. I glued the image on a white cardstock paper and fussy cut it again, leaving thin white border around the image this time. Then I drew light reflections on balloons with a white pigment ink and left the image aside.

I glued a Rainbow striped patterned paper on a white top folded card base, stamped a sentiment on a white cardstock paper panel and glued it on the card base.

Lastly, I glued some 3-D foam on the back of the image and glued it on the card. :o)

Card measurements: (3 3/4" x 5")

Jane's Doodles Release Blog Hop

Hi everyone! :o)

Welcome to a Jane's Doodles Release Blog HopToday we are featuring THREE new stamp sets released into the store. :o)

Aren't they ADORABLE!! Love love LOVE!!!!! :o)

I had so much fun playing with these sets, so I prepared four cards for today. :o)

My first card for today is this CAS (clean and simple), Friends Card using stamps from super adorable 'Outdoors' stamp set. :o)

With some masking, I stamped adorable critters from the set on a watercolor paper panel. I also stamped a sentiment from the set. I colored critters in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying I glued the panel on a white side folded card base and my card was finished. :o)

Second card I created for today is this CAS, Raccoon Card using 'Outdoors' and 'Patterns' stamp sets. This raccoon is so so cute!! :o)

I stamped the raccoon on the watercolor paper and colored him in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the raccoon and traced edges with a black marker. To make the image thicker, as I use thin watercolor paper, I stamped another raccoon on the white cardstock paper, fussy cut him, traced edges with black marker and glued the colored raccoon over him.

Next up was a sentiment speech bubble. I stamped a speech bubble from another stamp set I have on the white cardstock paper with VersaMark Watermark, fussy cut the bubble and stamped the sentiment on it.

Then I stamped stripes pattern in black directly on a white top folded card base.

With all parts ready, I assembled the card. I glued some foam on the back of the raccoon and speech bubble and glued them on the card base. As a finishing touch, I embellished the card with two grey enamel dots. :o)

My third card is this CAS, Wigwam Card made with stamps from beautiful 'Happy Camper' stamp set.

First I cut out all pieces I needed: card base, window, background panel.

I stamped Moon and stars on a watercolor paper panel. I wanted to create night sky scene. :o) I colored the scene in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I glued the panel directly on a white top folded card base.

Then I stamped a sentiment on a white cardstock paper panel with a cut window. I glued some foam on the panel and glued it on the card base.

I stamped a wigwam and couple more stars on a watercolor paper and watercolored them also with Distress Inks. I fussy cut the wigwam and stars and traced their edges with black marker.

I glued three stars on the night sky scene to add some dimension to the background.

Then I stamped another wigwam on the white cardstock paper, fussy cut it, traced edges with black marker and glued colored wigwam over it. I did this to make the image thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin.

I added more foam on the back of the wigwam, glued it on the card and my card was finished. :o)

Fourth and last card for today is this New Adventures Card made using stamps from 'Happy Camper' stamp set.

On this card I decided to go with Aurora Borealis at the background, which I would LOVE to see in person. :o)

I colored a background in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. I used thick watercolor paper for it. When I was satisfied with the color, I blended edges with Black Soot Distress Ink to get more dramatic look. Then I splattered the panel with white tempera color mixed with water. I smeared a bit of the white tempera color here and there where I wanted to get lighter parts of the Aurora Borealis. After drying, I glued the panel on a black top folded card base and drew couple shiny stars with white pigment ink.

Next up was a tent. I stamped the tent on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut it and traced edges with a black marker. To make the image thicker (this paper is thinner than the paper I used for the background) I stamped another tent on the white cardstock paper, fussy cut it, traced edges with black marker and glued the colored tent over it.

Next up was a sentiment speech bubble. I stamped a speech bubble from another stamp set I have on the black cardstock paper with VersaMark Watermark, fussy cut the bubble and heat embossed in white the sentiment on it.

I glued some foam on the back of the tent and speech bubble, glued them on the card base and my card was finished. :o)

These would be my cards for today. I like them a lot, hope you will too. :o)
