Jane's Doodles Release Blog Hop

Hello everyone! :o)

Welcome to a Jane's Doodles Release Blog HopToday we are featuring two GORGEOUS stamp sets released into the store. :o)

Love love LOVE!!!!! :o)

And here is what I prepared for today: Happy Birthday Card, using stamps from 'Happy Day' stamp set. :o)

To make this card I was inspired with my baby boy's Fran 1st Birthday Party theme: yellow and green balloons. :o) He was thrilled. :o)

We had two parties, first on his actual birthday, March 9th, and second last Sunday, on 1 st day of Spring, when we both celebrated our birthdays with our family. Second party was in different color scheme. He was thrilled again. :o)

How I made this Card...

I stamped an adorable mouse on a square thick mix media paper panel. With some masking, I stamped 21 balloon and a sentiment. Then I drew balloon strings, a frame and circles on the panel and my scene was ready to be colored. :o)

My first intention was to watercolor images, but I changed my mind and colored everything with colored pencils. I spent around 2 hours coloring. I like the result. :o)

Lastly, I glued the panel on a white top folded square card base and my card was finished. :o)

At the bottom of this post you can find detailed supply lists of my today's card. Link to this post will be in a right sidebar until the Blog Hop ends. :o)

    B&W Goth Birthday Girl Card

    Hi everyone! :o)

Today I want to share with you this Black & White, Goth Birthday Girl Card. :o)

To make this card I used an adorable Tiddly Inks 'Whatever Floats By' digital image and My Favorite Things 'Cloud' stencil. :o)

I love challenging myself. Using minimum number of colors on my projects is one of them. :o) On my today's card I used only two colors: Tim's Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot for coloring and ink blending and Uniball Signo White Pigment Ink Pen to add finishing touches.

    How I made my card...

I made a layout on my computer and printed the image directly on a watercolor paper. I left it aside couple of hours to let ink dry completely to prevent ink smearing while coloring.

I trimmed the watercolor paper to a desirable size and ink blended clouds in the background using the cloud stencil. I didn't mask the image, as I planed to color it afterwards, but tried to avoid as much as possible blending over it. I'm vary satisfied with my stenciled clouds, as this was the first time I created clouds on my card using ink blending technique and the cloud stencil. :o)

Next up was coloring. I colored the image in watercolor technique and left it dry on air.

After drying, I ink blended the panel edges and glued it on a black top folded card base. As a finishing touch, I drew white highlights with the white pigment ink pen.

I love how my card turned out. :o)

    Card measurements: 98 mm x 148 mm (3 7/8" x 5 7/8")

Birthday Moose with Balloons Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

    Hi everyone! :o)

Today I want to share with you a card I made for my spotlight over at Jane's Doodles on October 16. That was the day I traveled to Ivanić-Grad. I was so busy, I couldn't find time to share it prior today here.

And here's my card: CAS (clean and simple), Birthday Moose with Balloons Card. :o)

I made this card for my niece Iva, my cousins daughter, who celebrated her 1st birthday couple days ago. The card arrived on time. :o)

To make this card I used stamps from three beautiful Jane's Doodles stamp sets: a moose from 'Outdoors' stamp set, a balloon from 'Monster Squad' stamp set and a sentiment from 'Belated Birthday' stamp set.

    How I made this card...

I stamped a moose on a watercolor paper. With some masking, I stamped balloons on the watercolor paper. After removing masks, I drew balloon strings.

I watercolored the moose and balloons using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the image and traced edges with black marker. I glued the image on a white cardstock paper and fussy cut it again, leaving thin white border around the image this time. Then I drew light reflections on balloons with a white pigment ink and left the image aside.

I glued a Rainbow striped patterned paper on a white top folded card base, stamped a sentiment on a white cardstock paper panel and glued it on the card base.

Lastly, I glued some 3-D foam on the back of the image and glued it on the card. :o)

    Card measurements: (3 3/4" x 5")
