LAC Session 8 Reflection on the topics:

“Capacitating Teachers with Updates on Pedagogies of Teaching-Learning Process and in
Implementing Intervention to Learners in Distance Learning”
(February 18, 2022)

Pedagogy is the “art, science, or profession of teaching.” This broad

definition covers various aspects of teaching, and there are many moving parts to
pedagogy that include teaching styles, feedback, and assessment. The term
pedagogy boils down to the study of different teaching methods which is very
important as a teacher.

As a teacher teaching can be referred to as an educator’s understanding of

how the students learn and what are the strategies where going to use to provide our
students an appropriate ways for them to learn well. Pedagogies are important, since
it gives teachers ideas the best practices for a classroom setting. We can’t deny the
fact that this pandemic changed the education system here in our country. With all
the challenges encountered by the teachers and students, teacher should still make
effort to ensure that teaching and learning will continue amidst this pandemic, and at
the same time deliver quality education for the best ways that we can do as a
teacher.

The topic for today’s LAC Session emphasized the importance that we as a
teachers should make sure to updates or set of pedagogies for our learners. Our
speaker Sir Noel C. Banzuela Jr., discussed the topic “Managing Learning
Environment in The New Normal”, during his discussion he highlighted important
subtopics such as: the students need, the establishment and enforcement of rules
and expectations in the classroom, class disruptions, including the major and minor
disruptions, and consequences documentation and implementation which are all
timely and relevant since the expanded limited face-to-face classes are about to
start. Second speaker was Ma’am Nora I. Canaria, Master Teacher I tackled about
the topic “Strategies in Teaching Within and Across the Curriculum Learning Areas”
which for me is one of the helpful topics, especially for us newly hired teachers,
because this is one of the challenges I might encounter once we are obliged to start
doing our Daily Lesson Plan knowing all this lesson will surely guide us as a teacher
to improve well for our students achievements.
This Lac Sessions provides me knowledge which I can use and apply in my
teaching profession specially that I am a newly hired teacher and needs more
improvements to be an efficient and effective teacher, we all know that learning is a
lifelong process and everything can be learned if we really loved our job it will be
easy for us to improved ourselves.
