Objective: To measure effects of Reiki treatments on growth of heat-shocked bacteria, and to determine the influence of healing context and practitioner well-being. Methods: Overnight cultures of Escherichia coli K12 in fresh medium were used. Culture samples were paired with controls to minimize any ordering effects. Samples were heat-shocked prior to Reiki treatment, which was performed by Reiki practitioners for up to 15 minutes, with untreated controls. Plate-count assay using an automated colony counter determined the number of viable bacteria. Fourteen Reiki practitioners each completed 3 runs (n ϭ 42 runs) without healing context, and another 2 runs (n ϭ 28 runs) in which they first treated a pain patient for 30 minutes (healing context). Well-being questionnaires were administered to practitioners pre-post all sessions. Results: No overall difference was found between the Reiki and control plates in the nonhealing context. In the healing context, the Reiki treated cultures overall exhibited significantly more bacteria than controls (p Ͻ 0.05). Practitioner social (p Ͻ 0.013) and emotional well-being (p Ͻ 0.021) correlated with Reiki treatment outcome on bacterial cultures in the nonhealing context. Practitioner social (p Ͻ 0.031), physical (p Ͻ 0.030), and emotional (p Ͻ 0.026) well-being correlated with Reiki treatment outcome on the bacterial cultures in the healing context. For practitioners starting with diminished well-being, control counts were likely to be higher than Reiki-treated bacterial counts. For practitioners starting with a higher level of well-being, Reiki counts were likely to be higher than control counts. Conclusions: Reiki improved growth of heat-shocked bacterial cultures in a healing context. The initial level of well-being of the Reiki practitioners correlates with the outcome of Reiki on bacterial culture growth and is key to the results obtained.

So bietet diese Ethnographie tiefe und vielschichtige Einblicke in die Eigenarten, Themen, Motivationen, (Un-)Sicherheiten, (Un-)Fertigkeiten und Widersprüche im Umgang mit Eigenem und Fremdem und eröffnet damit die Frage nach der menschlichen Identität.

Tomabechi Gizō (1880–1959), a chemical magnate and politician, was one of twenty shihan (Master-level) students trained by Usui Mikao (1865–1926), the founder of Usui Reiki Therapy (Usui Reiki Ryōhō). The final chapter of Tomabechi's (co-authored) memoir describes his experiences with Usui Reiki Therapy, his theories of health and disease, and his recommendations to maintain health.

Lo usual es la azulada, pero también la blanca, gris, rojiza y verdosa, con reflejo metálico e irisado. El color deviene de intrusiones de metales, pueden haber varias en la misma piedra, que es así multicolor y variar al girarlo el color de la irisación. Algunas brillan en todos los colores, como la arco iris de Sri Lanka, azul intensa de brillo refulgente; también se la halla en Hamgyong (Corea del Norte) y Madagascar. La usan los chamanes esquimales (inuit) y algonkins (Canadá y USA), que la consideran caída del cielo, usada para adivinación, provocar el trance y como proyectil. La industria la usa en revestimientos cerámicos y como panel decorativo en la edificación. Los ejemplares más transparentes se usan en joyería. La labradorita es un mineral fascinante, muy especial, empática con quien la posee. Es de potente absorción y trasmutación de la negatividad, protección y estabilización del cuerpo, alma y espíritu. Limpia el cuerpo energético. Útil para regenerar los tejidos, atenuar el envejecimiento y tonificar la vitalidad. Calma la mente y alivia en momentos de angustia, estrés o ansiedad. To search for and observe change(s) of quality (motility, shape, and structure) in the Erythrocytes (RBC-Red blood cells), with the application of one thirty-minute Reiki treatment. To note any indications of, or actual change in, oxidative stress components within live blood samples with the application of 1 thirty-minute Reiki treatment. To document any change(s) while under the influence of Reiki Ryoho to the protit (somatid), terrain (mileu), or pleomorphic development. To note any change(s) in volunteer's perceived wellbeing pre and post 1 thirty-minute Reiki treatment in this manner. Methods 71 volunteers from November 2017 to January 2021 participated in this Vibrant Health Research project. Each volunteer donated blood samples by capillary puncture and received a Reiki treatment of thirty minutes in length. This study was completed in 2 phases. The first phase being altered due to the observations made which were unanticipated, yet deemed pivotal, to the question of possible erythrocyte change resulting in the application of Reiki Ryoho treatments. The first phase (Phase I) observed one capillary sample taken, documenting the change(s) or activity before, during, and up to the end of receiving a thirty-minute Reiki Ryoho treatment. This first phase (Phase I) was discontinued for Phase II at the 33 rd volunteer.

The set of spiritual healing practices called Usui Reiki Ryōhō (hereafter, “Reiki”) were systematized in 1920s Tokyo, but it was not until Reiki became a global phenomenon in the 1990s that it became widely taught in its land of origin. This paper compares narratives by Japanese Reiki practitioners from these two times: Reiki’s early years and its popularization period. It analyzes their efforts to distinguish Reiki from “religion” and relates this phenomenon to larger issues for the study of religion and modernity.

First, it describes how these spiritual healing practitioners in Taishō and post-Aum Japan situated their practice between, yet distinct from, both medicine and religion. It briefly explores how each of these eras saw the flourishing of unorthodox medicine despite moral panics surrounding alternative religions that used healing practices. Next, it considers how the narratives of the latter era make employ “spirituality” to represent a “third space,” at once “religion” and “non-religion.” This “spirituality” is produced at the nexus of popular culture, mass media, market forces, and academic commentary. Like the “spiritual, but not religious” identification in the postwar West, the “spiritual world” (seishin sekai) and “spiritual boom” allow practitioners to engage in transmundane activities without sacrificing modern secularity or identifying with any particular religion, including the stigmatized “new religions.” “Spirituality” allowed later Japanese Reiki practitioners to see their activities as socially valid in a manner that was unavailable to Taisho practitioners, who struggled to describe their techniques in the language of religion and medicine. The paper ultimately argues that the rise of “spirituality” constitutes a key rupture in the conceptualization of “non-religion” between the wave of early twentieth-century “psycho-spiritual therapies” (seishin ryōhō or reijutsuka) and that of late twentieth-century “spiritual healing therapies” (supirichuaru hīringu serapī).

Fino a pochi anni fa le nostre conoscenze riguardanti le tecniche terapeutiche originarie del Reiki giapponese adoperate da Usui e, ancora oggi, praticate in Giappone dagli operatori e dai Master all'interno della USUI REIKI RYOHO GAKKAI, organizzazione creata da Usui stesso, erano piene di lacune. E' storia recente come, grazie a F. A. Petter e a Hiroshi Doi, siamo venuti in possesso di notizie che ci hanno permesso di far luce su molte tecniche e metodologie che sono ancora oggi custodite con molta segretezza e negate alla conoscenza del mondo occidentale. F.A. Petter è un master Reiki tedesco che da molti anni vive e lavora in Giappone: egli ha avuto modo di incontrare e conoscere molti operatori di Reiki giapponese sia appartenenti alla U.R.R.G. sia ad altre correnti di Reiki derivanti da quella originaria di Usui. Ha condotto molte ricerche che lo hanno portato ad esaminare materiale didattico scritto, derivato dagli insegnamenti di Usui stesso e a ricercare le origini dei simboli Reiki nelle pratiche del Buddhismo e dello Shintoismo. H. Doi appartiene alla U.R.R.G. : è un operatore di 2° livello che dirige una scuola di reiki in Giappone e pratica un Reiki che trae le sue radici dal Reiki di Usui ma integrato e completato da altre tecniche di guarigione ideate da lui stesso. Alternative health practitioners, especially those utilizing biofield energies, are challenged to explain what is happening outside of what the individuals receiving treatment share post-session about their experiences. This research aims to demonstrate the cellular effect, reflected in human blood, of an energetic or spiritual treatment.
To achieve this, 71 volunteers were recruited for the Vibrant Health Research project. Each volunteer donated blood samples by capillary puncture and received 30 min of Reiki. This study aimed to determine if one Reiki treatment session induced changes of quality (motility, shape, and structure) and influenced oxidative stress components within erythrocytes (red blood cells; RBC).
This study further aimed to document any Reiki-induced changes in the protit (somatid), terrain (milieu), or pleomorphic development within the live blood sample.
This research also measured changes in volunteer’s perceived wellbeing pre- and post-treatment. These data found that Reiki Ryoho treatment influences mental/emotional outcomes as well as physical effects on live blood samples. Specifically, Reiki treatment was shown here to decrease negative emotions (p = .004) and change the size/shape (p = .003), spatial distance (p < .001), and motility (p = .017)  of RBCs. Further, Reiki treatment was also associated with notable differences in the pleomorphic development and markers of oxidative stress reflected in live blood samples. Overall, more systematic research is warranted to validate these findings of long-term Reiki-induced influences on blood.

Background
Anxiety and depression affect many people. Treatments do not have complete success and often require people to take drugs for long
periods of time. Many people look for other treatments that may help. One of those is Reiki, a 2500 year old treatment described as
a vibrational or subtle energy therapy, and is most commonly facilitated by light touch on or above the body. There have been reports
of Reiki alleviating anxiety and depression, but no specific systematic review.
Objectives
To assess the effectiveness of Reiki for treating anxiety and depression in people aged 16 and over.
Search methods
Search of the Cochrane Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL - all years), the Cochrane Depression, Anxiety and Neurosis Review
Group’s Specialised Register (CCDANCTR - all years), EMBASE, (1974 to November 2014), MEDLINE (1950 to November 2014),
PsycINFO (1967 to November 2014) and AMED (1985 to November 2014). Additional searches were carried out on the World
Health Organization Trials Portal (ICTRP) together with ClinicalTrials.gov to identify any ongoing or unpublished studies. All searches
were up to date as of 4 November 2014.
Selection criteria
Randomised trials in adults with anxiety or depression or both, with at least one arm treated with Reiki delivered by a trained Reiki
practitioner.
Data collection and analysis
The two authors independently decided on inclusion/exclusion of studies and extracted data. A prior analysis plan had been specified
but was not needed as the data were too sparse.
Main results
We found three studies for inclusion in the review. One recruited males with a biopsy-proven diagnosis of non-metastatic prostate
cancer who were not receiving chemotherapy and had elected to receive external-beam radiation therapy; the second study recruited
community-living participants who were aged 55 years and older; the third study recruited university students.
These studies included subgroups with anxiety and depression as defined by symptom scores and provided data separately for those
subgroups. As this included only 25 people with anxiety and 17 with depression and 20 more with either anxiety or depression, but

Por Guillem Català Las propiedades de un mineral o roca dependen de muchos factores, uno principal es el lugar de donde proceden, del que toman personalidad y fuerza. Así, un cristal de cuarzo no es igual si procede de uno u otro valle de los Alpes, o de una montaña y de la de enfrente. Lo cual por ahora no tiene explicación científica, lo que no quiere decir que no sea real. Es un fenómeno común en la Naturaleza. Por ejemplo, lo mismo sucede con el vino. La producción en la misma región de campos cercanos da resultados inconfundibles; si al lector le gusta el vino ya sabe de lo que hablo.
