Green Culture

Public enterprises (PEs) in India are an inseparable part of the process and dynamics of economic development in India. Since the first five year plan, PEs has been involved in the innovation process to update themselves to the latest developments including product and process innovation. Numerous initiatives have been taken to demonstrate how organisations innovatively manage sustainable development by initiating social conscience and green sense of responsibility as a part of a company operation. Yet, the area of green human resource management (GHRM) is less explored in PEs in India. The purpose of the paper is to elaborate the need of GHRM initiatives as an innovative approach in PEs. Primary data has been collected to identify the existing GHRM initiatives and green practices in central public sector enterprises (CPSEs). The paper identifies the best practices in GHRM that can be applied in CPSEs in India to contribute to sustainable development.

After her important experience started with the project of gardens and parks for the E42 in Rome with Pietro Porcinai and Raffaele De Vico, Maria Teresa Parpagliolo Shephard moved in England, in 1946, after her marriage with Ronald Shephard. Her English experience  was strongly important for all the future landscape projects. The acknowledgement of modelling surfaces and the use of different materials was very useful for her professional growth, and it would be clear in the expression of the gardening language she would later used.

Chinese cemeteries are often viewed as dark and eerie places and are to be avoided except during the Qing Ming prayers. Chinese immigrants to Malaysia but who did not retum to China were buried in cemeteries established by their clansmen. The hundreds of Chinese cemeteries are now part of the Malaysian cultural landscape. Culturally the cemeteries symbolize the core Chinese concept ofthe " unity ofheaven and humans". This concept is manifested through three key cultural values of filial piety, fengshui (geomancy), and yi (righteousness). On the practical level, the management of Chinese cemeteries is nurturing a " green cul個re" primarily through efforts to " humanize" the cemetery landscape. This objective is being pursued in three ways, namely, changing the image of cemeteries, developing garden-type memorial parks, and increasing the level ofhuman presence.

As the environment continues to aggravate, it has become a purposeful public concern in developed countries and has recently stirred developing countries to join the green movement. Hence, this study examines green environmental awareness, green product value and environmental attitude by applying the measurement of effects on green culture. The study applied a quantitative research approach where a cross-sectional survey designed with 267 respondents’ green consumer who lived in the urban area of Abuja and employed partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS3 to examine the developed path model. The results indicated that all constructs were empirically supported showing significant impact on green culture while examining direct relationships. The general objective of the research is to help society empower itsgreen culture to prepare for future challenges, as the world is facing inevitable environmental crises.The specific purpose of the research is to deliver new knowledge about consumer behavior towards green products. The research will be located in Indonesia, where many people lack clear understanding of environmental behavior and only a few citizens are active in organizations focused on environmental preservation.

The universal call for heeding sustainability has been deep rooted in almost all walks of human life. The materialisation of the global agenda of creating a sustainable world has witnessed several epoch making educational policies, procedures and programmes being formulated and implemented at global, national and regional levels. Creating environmentally literate citizens or ecoliterates have been one of the major objectives of Education for Sustainability (EfS). The paper examines how far the learning experiences have contributed in fostering Ecoliteracy among the students of higher education. For comprehending this, a survey was conducted by selecting a representative sample of 125 undergraduate students. It was found that female students tend to have more sensitivity towards the environment when compared to their male counterparts. The prime objective of curriculum is to enable the future citizens of the society the smooth adjustment with the changing socio-cultural demands. As the existence of human kinds itself is under threat the students have to be trained in dealing with the emergency situations at day to day life. Indiscriminate interference of man with nature has proved its consequences which adversely affect even the existence of man. Various kinds of disasters threaten the existence of mankind on earth. Many of these disasters are the consequence of reckless activities and uncontrolled interventions of human on nature. The possible solution for this is greening the curriculum. Curriculum must nurture green culture behaviour among the students that enable students using nature as a learning tool to focus on real-world problems. Developing green curricular activities is a promising approach to make the young generation with proper environmental awareness and enhance nature friendly behaviour among them. This paper stresses the significance of green curricular approaches for disaster management education. Rather than just converting the institutions as shelter places for the refugees or victims of disasters, the school should be metamorphosed to nodal centres of disaster management both in principle and practices.
