Although it is technically still summer I am very ready for fall. Once my kids head back to school I am ready to make that transition to all things pumpkins and fall leaves. And I wouldn't mind temperatures to match. I love fall, it is my favorite season of the year.

My kids are always asking to paint stuff. It is one of their favorite crafty things to do. I typically have a little stash of stuff that can be painted in my craft supplies, unfinished wood stuff, canvases, etc., and they love looking through it to find stuff they can paint.

A few weeks ago I was at Michael's picking up some supplies I needed for a project and I was browsing through the Christmas craft stuff, not really intending to buy anything, but I saw these chunky unfinished wood Christmas shapes that they had, and I thought they would make cute Christmas decor with a little bit of paint and vinyl, plus they happened to be on sale so I picked one up.

Painted Ceramic Fairy Houses

My kids are always begging me to paint, it is one of their favorite craft projects, and although it can get a little messy I feel like it is one of the easiest to let them do. Especially when they have something specific to paint. If you are looking for a fun summer craft activity for kids this was a big hit with my kids.

Easy Magic Wands

Time for another Harry Potter project today, although this one is not really super Harry Potter specific. It could work for any magic theme where wands are involved.

For me crafting is a big stress reliever. It is almost therapeutic for me when I am feeling really stressed or overwhelmed with life, to pick up some yarn and a crochet hook, or a paintbrush, or go sit at my sewing machine and make something. Sometimes when I am feeling that way I just want to make something without really thinking too much about it, just sit down and create something. At those times one of my favorite things to do is get out some paints and just play around with them.

Hello Summer Circle Sign

I can't believe that summer is almost here. My kids only have a couple of weeks of school left before they are out for summer vacation. So with spring holidays over and summer just around the corner I have been trying to switch my crafting focus to summer crafts.

It is time for another Summer Camp Craft Saturday! This is the second of 9 weeks of summer camp crafts, and we are painting rocks.

Stars and Stripes Planter Box

A couple of years ago I did a post for a company and they sent me a bunch of products that I could use for that project, and one of them was a long, unfinished wood planter box. I didn't end up using the planter box in my project so ever since then it has just been sitting on my shelf waiting to be used.

Adding Iron On to a Painted Canvas

-Product for this post provided by Cricut, all ideas and opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.-

I have made a lot of different types of canvases using my Cricut, including hot mess canvases and reverse canvases. For this projects I wanted to keep it a little more simple. Just putting vinyl on a canvas that I had painted. No deconstructing of the canvas or multiple layers.

Mini Painted Vases and Planters

A while ago I saw someone share, on Instagram I think, some things that they found at Target in the  Bullseye Playground section. One of the things that they had shared was a little 3 pack of bud vases and when I saw them I thought they would be perfect for a little craft project. Something fun to paint for spring, or for Mother's Day, or anything really.

Easter Egg Painted Rocks

My oldest daughter had a Zoom activity a couple of weeks ago with her church youth group where they were painting rocks. They used paint pens to make their rocks, rather than paints and a paintbrush that I normally use.

Embroidered Canvas Paintings

I recently bought a big pack of canvases in order to make a Valentine project that I will share soon, but with all of those canvases sitting in my craft room I started getting the itch to paint something.

Merry Christmas Ornament Sign

I'm sure everyone has seen the circle signs that are everywhere this year, especially for Christmas. Sometimes they are made with wood rounds, sometimes dollar store pizza pans, but whatever they are made with, they have been super popular lately.

Mini Canvas Halloween Magnets

The last couple of weeks I feel like I have posted a lot of crochet projects, so the next few days will be some other types of crafts. I really love crocheting but it tends to take a while to finish a project and sometimes I just want a nice quick project, or even just something different to switch it up a little. Todays project was a really quick, easy project and one that would even be fun to do with kids. And be sure to keep scrolling to the end of this post to enter to win a giveaway for a gift card to your favorite craft store.

Stenciled Journals Kid Craft

My kids love to paint, they are constantly asking me if they can paint something. Sometimes it drives me crazy because  it usually means getting into my stuff, my paints and blanks that I have for specific projects, and making a big mess. But I also love seeing their creativity and the things that they make when I just let them create.

DIY Summer Window Clings

-This post may contain affiliate links-

I recently got a bunch of crafty projects and kits for my kids and one of the things that I got was a set of sun catchers. The kids loved seeing how the paint went on thick and opaque but dried thin and transparent. Making the sun catchers reminded me of some paints that I had that could be used to make window clings and I thought it would be fun to make a summer themed set.

Being stuck at home the last couple of weeks has been rough, especially with all of us in the same place all the time and trying to figure out all of the schedules, schoolwork, and zoom calls with all of the different teachers. I found myself feeling extra grouchy and short with my kids and I realized I had been so busy making sure everyone else had everything they needed, got on their calls, had quiet space to do their work, and all everything else that I was not taking anytime for myself.

10+ Pumpkin Crafts

I have shared a roundup of Halloween crochet and of Halloween Cricut projects, but today I wanted to share all of the pumpkin patterns I have on my site. I am not including any Jack O Lantern crafts, only plain pumpkins that can be used to decorate all throughout the fall, even after Halloween. These all work great for Thanksgiving too. So here are a few different crocheted pumpkin patterns, painted pumpkins, stitched pumpkins, and more.
