Glitter Heart Shaker Cards

I have to admit glitter is not my favorite craft supply to work with, but sometimes it is worth the potential mess. I have been wanting to make some glitter shaker cards and Valentine's Day seemed like the perfect opportunity to give it a try. I have had this project ready to share for a couple of weeks and now that it is actually Valentine's Day I am finally getting around to sharing it. Better late than never I guess.

I have wanted to try out Cricut's new watercolor markers and opaque gel pens since I first saw them, and I thought that making some Christmas cards was the perfect opportunity to finally give them a try.

One of my favorite things about the Cricut Joy is how easy it is to make cards for any occasion. When Cricut Joy first came out insert cards came out at the same time. I thought they were a really neat way to make cards, mostly because I'm not a huge paper crafter.  I enjoy simple paper projects, but I am not the place to come for amazing, complex cards that use lots of different techniques. If is is beyond gluing a couple of pieces of paper together it is probably not for me.

One of my favorite things about my Cricut Joy is how easy it is to make cards. I was never a big card maker before, or a paper crafter of any kind. I hated trying to glue little pieces on an not having it look messy. So when I first saw the Cricut Joy Insert Cards I thought they were great.

With the kids home all day I have been trying to find lots of ways to keep them busy and entertained. My girls especially like doing arts and crafts type projects, either kids crafts or helping me with projects I am working on.

Valentine's is a great time to focus on the people that we love, not only in a romantic type way but also the love we have for our family and friends. Lately in our house I feel like there has been more arguing and fighting than love and kindness. Someone is always seems looking at a sibling wrong or breathing their air. Sometimes the kids play well together and I know that they love each other but they get frustrated with each other over the dumbest things and the fighting was making me crazy. I decided that I wanted to try a little project to see if it would help them recognize the good things about each other instead of only focusing on the negative.

Cricut 101: Cards for All Occasions

With Mother's Day this weekend, Father's Day next month, birthday parties, baby shower, and weddings all throughout the year there are always times when you need a card. With your Cricut it is super easy to make cards for any of those occasions. You can always create something of your own, that is always fun to do and it is great if you want something really specific or personalized, but sometimes you just need something quick or maybe you just want something that is ready to go without needing to come up with a design.
