I feel like sometimes it is really easy to pass over Thanksgiving because once Halloween is past Christmas kind of takes over. I know I have already started working on and planning Christmas projects so that I can hopefully get them up on my blog early enough for people to use them for Christmas. I wanted to make sure I didn't just completely pass by Thanksgiving though so I made a really quick and easy wood and vinyl sign with my Cricut. The longest part is waiting for the paint to dry. And really although I made it for Thanksgiving it is a good reminder all year round.

Earlier this year I got a Cricut Explore Air. I had never had a cutting machine like that before but I had always wanted one. I wasn't sure how much I would actually use it so I wasn't sure if I got one so I didn't want to spend the money on it. Since I have had it I have used it a ton. I use it all the time for different kinds of projects. I have made cards for birthdays and other occasions, I have used it for last minute gifts, lots of baby projects, t-shirts and onesies, stickers for my husband to put on his car, all sorts of stuff. Cricut just came out with a new machine, the Explore Air 2, and knowing how much I loved my Cricut when they said they were looking for bloggers to try it out I jumped at the chance. I was so excited when the box showed up on my doorstep and inside was a brand new mint green machine, along with some other supplies. One of the exciting new features is that the new machines have a fast mode that cuts twice as fast. You can still use the regular speed for more intricate designs but you can choose the fast option and it speeds up the cutting.

Like I said, I wanted to make a quick Thanksgiving project so I just picked up a wood plaque at the craft store, I think bought mine at JoAnn's and it was 6" x 18". I painted it with some chalky finish paint in a cream color. In design space made my design, I just wrote Be Grateful in a pretty font. along with my new machine I was also sent some supplies, including a metallic vinyl sampler pack. I thought that the copper color in the metallic pack would be really nice for fall so I cut my words out of that.

I added the words to my painted plaque and it was done. One of my favorite things about the Cricut is how quick a lot of the projects are. I do a lot of crocheting and quite a bit of sewing so a lot of the projects that I make take quite a while. I love that when I make a project with my Cricut it only takes a few minutes and I can have a finished project. Sometimes that is really nice. Kind of an immediate satisfaction.
