Winter Shrine by Lori Woods

Hello creative friends! I love Christmas time and always look forward to creating wintery-themed projects but I've been struggling with a creative block recently. I started this project three times and each time, I wanted to change how it was turning out. I decided to step away and leave it for a little while, took apart everything I'd already made and then started again. I knew what I wanted the finished project to look like but I took my time, changed my mind about things as I did then and slowly managed to create the final vision in my head!

I started by using the new Celestial stencil and ice paste to create a snow effect background. I then layered various mouild elements and mechanicals around a central focal area.

I used the new Precious liquid acrylics set to colour my winter scene and dry brushed a lot of white gesso over everything to give it a snowy look. Glitter from the Winter set and White Pearl wax adding the finishing touches.

Christmas Bauble with Precious Liquid Acrylics set by Kasia

Hello,

A wonderful winter and holiday month ahead! So today I have a Christmas bauble for you. The whole project is in the style of Finnabair December Moodboard.

December the moodboard is inspired by Limited Edition Liquid Acrylics Set: Precious

Every designer probably has their own comfort zone when it comes to colours. I do, so a moodboard that imposes colors is a huge challenge for me. I don't usually reach for such colors myself, but the new sets of Liquid Acrylic Paints are just begging to be used. So brushes in hand and get to work!

See how many different, seemingly incompatible elements you can use to create this type of Christmas decoration. In fact, anything can be useful - metal elements, dry sticks, pebbles... whatever your imagination tells you.

Of course, you can watch the whole process of creating my mixed media Christmas bauble on our YouTube channel. I encourage you to watch and comment. We would be very happy.

Have a holly jolly Christmas,

Kasia Salmanowicz

Ambassadors' Spotlight - Captured Essence by Nuneka

I was so excited to try some of the new products from the latest Finnabair release that I couldn’t stop myself and got to use them in whatever was on my table at the moment.

I used basic mediums to build the MDF box and prime it, as well as some iconic gears from Finn, moulds to arrange the base of my composition. But what I really wanted to use were some of the new stencils from the Perfectly Grungy set, as well as some of the new Liquid Acrylic colours that I combined with some oldie – Atoll Blue and Fresh Mint combined gave me the perfect patina look I was looking for. Some light touches of Matte and Metallic waxes were just what I needed to get the perfect final look.
