Ambassadors' Spotlight - Captured Essence by Nuneka

I was so excited to try some of the new products from the latest Finnabair release that I couldn’t stop myself and got to use them in whatever was on my table at the moment.

I used basic mediums to build the MDF box and prime it, as well as some iconic gears from Finn, moulds to arrange the base of my composition. But what I really wanted to use were some of the new stencils from the Perfectly Grungy set, as well as some of the new Liquid Acrylic colours that I combined with some oldie – Atoll Blue and Fresh Mint combined gave me the perfect patina look I was looking for. Some light touches of Matte and Metallic waxes were just what I needed to get the perfect final look.

October 2024 Ambassadors' Spotlight

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Finnabair's blog with a mixed-media canvas inspired by the monthly theme: Let's Get Spooky!

As the base for the background, I decided to use the Solar tissue paper. I used the Soft Gloss Gel to glue on the canvas. Then, I added a very thin layer of Heavy White Gesso as I wanted to see the pattern afterwards. I added a design with the Rocket Science stencil and 3D Gloss Gel.

When everything was completely dry, I painted the background with Liquid Acrylic paints in Nude, Burnt Sienna, and Ink Black to match the colors of the photo.

I primed the bat wings with Heavy Black Gesso and the other resin elements with Heavy White Gesso.

I painted the skull and the bones with the same Liquid Acrylic I used for the background. To alter the chains, I used the Rust Effect Paste set and some Old Silver wax.

I added some Vintage Silk wax to highlight the details of the bat's wings and the horns of the mountain sheep.

September 2024 Ambassadors' Spotlight

In this project, I decided to go back to my "roots", to a technique that is always satisfying for me, but also very unpredictable. Lots of textures, elements from moulds, lots of layers and details. Thanks to Liquid Acrylic paints, everything blends together perfectly and gains depth. These paints bring out all the details, and fill all the gaps and shapes. To get even more contrast and beautifully highlight, I used white gesso at the very end. I think my space girl has a beautiful background, thanks to which she can shine.
