St. Patrick's Day "Kiss Me" Mason Jar Treat Jar

Want to give your sweetie some treats for St. Patrick's Day? Nothing better than a mason jar full of Hershey's kisses with almonds.  They come with gold wrappers and fit nicely with a St. Patrick's day theme.  Here's the jar I fixed up for my hubby:     All you need is:   a quart mason jar treats embellishments free "Kiss Me I'm Irish" printable cupcake liner     I used a free printable from Classy Clutter.  I filled my jar with almond kisses and topped the jar with a green chevron cupcake liner. I pulled some green twine and sparkly wire embellishment from my stash to embellish the jar top. Then I jazzed up a band of cardstock with a piece of washi tape and wrapped it around the jar, securing with a bit of hot glue. Then I attached the printable. I also embellished the printable with a piece of ribbon. This was a fun little gift to create with scraps from my stash. Hope this gives yo...

Woven ribbon gift wrap- Tried it out Thursday

I promised on Monday when I shared some gift wrap ideas that I'd share the one I used this year, so here it is. I really fell for the idea featured in Matthew Meads Holiday book, as seen here.

Fancy flops - Tried it out Thursday

I took some inspiration from A Couple of Craft Addicts  and made my own ruffled flip flops.

Must Do Monday - Embellished dish towels

This is a cute project that can be done with your fabric scraps. I'm itching to try this and make towels for every holiday to brighten up my kitchen.

Ribbon necklace

Last week I saw Becca's post on Blue Cricket Designs about how to make a ribbon necklace. I had been wanting to find a tutorial for those and was so excited that she posted one. Michael's also had ribbon and beads on sale , so I headed right over, got some stuff, and made myself two necklaces this weekend. I decided to try and put my on spin on it and wanted to use more than three beads and also used clear faceted ones instead of wooden beads. So for the first one, I cut my ribbon a little longer than a yard- I added about 14 inches. I originally wanted the necklace to tie but I didn't quite add enough length for that. So I ended up folding my ribbon over a jump ring and tying a knot. I started with a bead and then began braiding. The ends of ribbon that were left after tying the knot blended into the braid and what didn't got smoothed down with a little glue on the back. I continued braiding and adding beads until I got to the end and then finished the same way I sta...

Another 4 in 1

I've managed to complete another 4 challenges in one card! Again, I started with the Verve sketch (week 3). I used some very old papers from my stash. I don't even know who made these papers. When I first started scrapbooking, I bought many paper lots off ebay not knowing they were probably outdated then, so I have lots of old, "out of style" papers in my stash. That was the basis for the Three Clovers challenge this week. I also used ribbon, which is the challenge at Flourishes and the Saturday Challenge was a cake theme. This card covers them all! A few details: The stamp is by Verve. I coated the top of the cupcake with Stickles. I did some faux stitching with a white gel pen and a blue marker. Thanks for stopping by. Check out my ebay auctions too !

New supplies

I went to Michael's this weekend because hubby wanted some supplies for a project he plans to do. So of course I hit the dollar bins. Here is what I got: Isn't this ribbon adorable? I also got this ribbon and I'm thinking of using it on a project, maybe a card, with my Autumn Leaves clear stamps, swirls and flourishes by rhonna farrer. I'll let you know what I come up with later.
