Momma!
Come play Hide & Seek! I bet you won't find me!
Dang. That was fast! Wanna play again and I'll find a better spot?
Sure Z but it's gonna be hard to beat Bleu's hiding spot...

Feline Friday - 1/24/20
Yesterday Momma came home at lunch time and said that it was Bring Your Cat to Work Day!
I knew it wasn't an official holiday but for some reason I didn't hesitate when she offered to put me in the PTU. I regretted the decision as soon as we got in to the car. What was I thinking??!!?? I've *never* gotten in the PTU without a fuss.
Momma brought my favorite towel to sit on and there were even crunchies for snacking.
But I really preferred to be under her desk or in the PTU where no one could see me and I couldn't hear all the big trucks that drive by Momma's office every day.
At the end of the day we got in the car again but we didn't go home. Nooooooo. We went to another office but it was somebody else's office.
Momma told the vet lady that she was worried about "my little arm". It had become a little more swollen and there was a lump that came and almost went away. The vet lady said there probably had been an abscess that drained and it looked ok for now but Momma has to keep an eye on it. Then the lady and another lady tag teamed me and stuck me with a needle. Oww! Momma said it was easier than trying to get me to eat pills but nobody asked me what **I** prefurrrred.
Finally we got in the car again and Momma let me out of the PTU for the drive home. I looked around the car for a bit but found that the best spot was really on Momma's lap. It wasn't the most comfortable tho cuz I was really sitting on this big wheel thing over her lap. Momma wasn't happy but she gave me lots of scritches when we got home
Remind me not to get in the PTU or attend BYCTWD again soon. Okay?!

Wednesday Weather Report #140 - 1/22/20
This - my weather nerd friends - is some GOOD winter weather! I need to enjoy is as much as possible now cuz we are headed for 40F by the weekend so it's possible it will all melt. Again.
I'm also pleased to say I finished this Birds in the Air block this morning for our hexie club's Underground Railroad stitch along.
Now I can get back to the Carpenter's Wheel block - it has 100 tiny HST and after finishing two quadrants, I needed a break. I think I have just 3.5 blocks left to finish for this 12 block sampler. I'll have to check after I get this block pressed tonight. I'm excited to start working on my triple sashing but I know I also need to keep my eye on getting those last blocks finished.

Everything Day!!!
It's hard to know where to start today - so many things to share - and there are lots of pictures so I'll just make a photo roll to share everything. Enjoy!!
Several of the trees in the village where I work have been yarn bombed. They are all adorable but this snowman shows the snow storm that arrived yesterday, just in time for my birthday. Woot! |
"My" highway guys took me out for breakfast this morning! |
There was even cake! Thankfully it was only 1 candle when this is one of the bigger "9" birthdays. |
But wait - later there was more cake from another coworker! |
Have you ever seen a Birthday cactus? This also blossomed for Halloween |
It's been a while since I posted anything for HeLP but I have been making progress on my Underground Rail Road blocks for hexie club. This is birds in the air. |
In this basket is nearly 40 shoofly blocks waiting to be pressed and trimmed with my bloc loc ruler. In the back you can see 2 very important items for any quilting space. Which 2 would you pick? |
And what fun is time in the quilt lab if the Quality Control Officer is not there sleeping on the job in his very own quilt lined plastic bin? |
And now it's your turn to share...do you have a furry friend to share for Feliine Friday? Or maybe you have a hexie project to share for HeLP?
Have an excellent weekend! It's sunny and cold here, the ground is covered in snow, my little old man is on the mend and I can't ask for much more...

Thursday Weather Report #139 - 1/16/20
Well, I guess this day late post is a testament to the kind of month that I'm having. I realized earlier this week that I never posted the Bibliophile Files last Tuesday and last night, mid-dinner meeting, I realized that I didn't post a weather report even tho the pictures were ready. It feels like I am behind the 8 ball with everything work or personal this month.
January is my busiest season at my day job - I often work through lunches or after hours to get the work done. This is partly how I earn my summer Friday's off but my lunch hour is my blogging time and without that free time my brain gets a little loopy on what needs doing.
Speaking of loopy - we have moved every piece of furniture or paper in this building to install new carpet. Yes, in the middle of my busy month, we put in new carpet. Oi! The carpet looks fantastic but the headaches from the glue fumes, not so much.
It's been fun the last few days looking up what the weather was the last 2 years (2018 or 2019). There really has been little likeness from year to year.
Clearly I still need to get last year onto the black background - maybe after that I can get 2018 and 2019 on to the weather tab. Then I won't be the only weather nerd comparing year to year. Or maybe I will be...

Wednesday Weather Report #138 - 1/8/20
I'm sure you won't be one iota surprised when I mention the weird weather we are having...
We are currently under a weather advisory in effect from 10pm last night to 6pm tonight with up to 8 inches of snow. So far it's only been about 2 inches and the skies were sunny and blue until I walked in to Walgreens during my lunch. Then it quickly switched to overcast, snowing and blowing at a pretty good clip before I could walk back out of the store. I often think the weather advisories are more like crying wolf because the weather is rarely what they predicted. But, just in case we are stranded, I stocked up on the after-Christmas choco sales!!
And in the end it doesn't matter because Saturday is looking at a high of 57F. Yes, my friends, we will be just 3 degrees shy of 60F (yellow) in the middle of January. We can't even call it a January Thaw because we haven't had time to accumulate or freeze anything yet this winter. I think a yellow day would add interest to this year's weather quilt but I really prefer cold and snow during the winter months. I particularly look forward to snow on a measly two days a year. The first has passed and it was NOT a white Christmas (didn't even need a coat) so I am still praying for snow on my birthday. That day is just around the corner but with rain and temps in the 40s between now and then, sadly, I won't be holding my breath.
Starting the year with a purple (hard to tell from the photo) was a nice touch. Any time now I'll get my act together and get 2019 off the design wall and basted onto a black background. I just need to decide what backing I'm using first. It's not like I don't have options for the backing, it's picking which of the many options I want to commit to...
Oh and look what I found in the Walmart fishing aisle! I now have a dedicated weather box that I can latch closed and don't have to worry about the weather getting scattered all over the floor. Sorry - couldn't resist! I've since topped off 9 of the piles (don't expect I'll need many more 90s/maroon or below zeros/white than I already have) and this layout is much easier to grab the color of the day. It's the little things that make a crazy hexie person happy :)

Feline Friday - 1/3/20
The weather has been a little cray cray lately...
It's been warm enough to play in the mud!!!
But in the blink of an eye, it's also cold enough for Momma to share her space heater!
We can only guess what will come next...

Wednesday Weather Reports #136 & 137 - 12/31/19
December 18 - 24, 2019 21 - 17 - 20 - 33 - 45 - 52 - 35 F |
Yes, that is a new low for the season followed closely by a rather warm December day.
December 25 - 31, 2019 49 - 42 - 52 - 42 - 36 - 48 - 34 F |
Another warm week in December. As I am typing this up on Tuesday we are in the midst of a snow squall: talk about 0 to 60 in no time flat. But don't worry, it will be warm enough again to rain this weekend. The weather is totally wackadoo lately...
Happy New Year!!!!
