Skull Danglies

I watched a video of an Australian lady who made some paper beads. These are my take on them.

Painted and then used Ranger crackle accents on them, once dry rubber with treasure golds.

Mail Art Money Envies for Christmas

As luck would have it, I needed some Christmas money envelopes for my niece and nephews and it just so happens that over on the PaperArtsy blog they have a theme of mail art.

Gelli Makes

Using my new WRMK envelope punch board, I made these notelets and envelopes from my very first set of gelli prints.

For anyone who is unsure about the envelope maker, it's fantastic, dead easy to use and so precise.

I ended up with two different sizes as you are governed by the size of the paper as to what size envelope you can make.

I went back into some of the prints and added stamping and doodling.

This ended up being one of my favourites after I'd added stamping and doodling.

And this one I added the black through a stencil, again another of my favourites.

And here they are bundled up and tied with sari ribbon.

I also used some to make the cover for a mini book.

Put some sheets of handmade paper inside and used a cinch for the holes and bind it all wires.

Then I made a few more in different sizes.

And with the off cuts I made a collage.

Or I might use some for background papers.

So that's what I did with my very first batch of gelli plate prints.

Cracking Open the Gelli Plate

Having had my gelli plate since just after Christmas, I decided to crack it open and have a play tonight.

Even though I really don't have the room, not just to put the prints somewhere to dry out,

but the main problem is having somewhere to put the painty things that I've pressed into the paint.

Ie stencils, bubble wrap, fun foam, wedges, cleaning off the brayer!!

Not to mention putting the paint out of reach - lol - live and learn!!

And stopping the lids off household items rolling all over with paint on them!!

I also decided to use some rubber stamps and of course they needed cleaning straight away!!

For these two I just used different sizes of lids to create the random circles.

Had great fun, and shall defo be doing some more prints!!

PA Inspired Card

Now don't laugh at my attempt, but when faced with using a plastic breakfast knife and one of the non slip coffee sleeves to create the blue dots, I was challenged - lol.

With no see through acrylic block, I had no idea where I was stamping the letters either!! Circles stamped with a body lotion lid compliments of the hotel!!

You can see Jo's card here on the PA blog.

Mini Book Covers

You can tell I'm in holiday mode can't you, I forgot to take a photo of the background before I cut it up and made things with it - lol. But luckily you can pop over to the PA blog and see Ellen's project here.

I pretty much did the same as what she did for the background except I used shades of green and instead of a journal cover I made a couple of little note books and a card topper. I used a Dina Wakley image for the front of this one.

I cut up some paper to add into the book and fixed everything together using binding wires, I used a cinch to create the round holes.

I brayered the inside of the books to give them a neat finish.

And this is the back cover.

For the cover of this one I used the image off the TH Papillon plate.

The inside cover.

And finally the back.

Notebook For Burn

It was Burns birthday yesterday, so I sent her a little something.  I made this a while ago with her in mind as it's PINK, yes I did say PINK, but like I said it was a while ago.

Remember way back when, when I attended the gelli plate class at AftH with the lovely Kate Crane.  Well this was one of the backgrounds I made, so I turned it into a notebook for Burn.

A Gift for Pan Pastel UK

Over at the PanPastelUK challenge blog this week they are asking for a handmade gift.  This is another notebook I've made using one of the Gelli Plate background created at AftH recently on a workshop with Kate Crane.

This time I've used the Dina Wakley image and stamped her in timber brown.  You will also notice that I managed to get the o wires on the wrong way round yet again!!!

A Little Notebook

I really love this Paperartsy crackle glaze, it really does do what it says and it's great to stamp on afterwards.

This is the front after a couple of coats of the gloss glaze and with the binder in place.  I used eggplant for the bottom coat and guacamole mixed with nougat and Irish cream for the top coat. (The rest of the photos were taken when it was hailing.)

The back is Irish cream over the eggplant.  I stamped in black Stazon.

And this is the book open showing back and front.

Over at Out of A Hat Creations this is their last week of Christmas and this week the theme is gifts, so I am entering my little notebook as I think it will make a lovely gift.
