Collage Atc Set

This months atc theme on UKStampers is stamped collage.  The main images were stamped, masked off and various other images were stamped around them.  The backgrounds were then chalked leaving the faces of the main images lighter. Gold coloured square gems were added to the green one, a piece of ribbon and blue gems in the flower centres were added to the blue one and the hat of the yellow one has been covered with glossy accents.

Steampunky Atc

These are more images from the Avant Garde stamp range.  They were stamped in timber brown stazon.  The alphabet background was stamped with antique linen distress ink.  The background was chalked with blue, red and purple.  Watch pieces were added to the images and glossy accents was used to raise some areas.  Edges were subjected to the paper distresser and edged with walnut stain distress ink.

Flowers - Wednesday Stamper

I made this atc to enter into this weeks Wednesday Stampers challenge. The theme is flowers. I chalked the atc in orange but left the middle white. Stamped the image in a couple of different light browns from the colorbox chalk set. I used my pearlescent watercolour paints to enhance the petals. I inked the edges with gold brilliance ink.

I made these tags with yes, you guessed it, T!m's alteration dies. I can't stop playing with them!!!

Flower Faces

These tags were made using the floral set of alteration dies and the PaperArtsy grunge flower die (the leaf). I got the idea to put the faces in the middle from a piece that Alison (craftytrog) made for the Lotstodo Challenge.

The flowers were cut from various materials including sand paper (thanks Deb), fabric, cork and thick card. The leaves were cut from T!m's retro grunge pad.

Something Different

Was having a play around with yet more Dome purchases yesterday. Was quite impressed with myself that I managed to put apetures in my cards using the nesties and they are not badly lined up either!!! Also got a plate of shimmer paint things, a bit like H2O's but another make which I can't remember. Anyway, I painted the dragonflies with these, they are very subtle colours but very glimmery. The dragonfly on the black background is done by stamping the image with versamark and then brushing mica pigment over it and brushing the excess off. Thought it turned out quite well considering!!! Will add sentiments when I decide what to use them for.

Bees Wax Canvas - Dezinaworld Challenge - Wings

June over at Dezinaworld is holding a Challenge with a fabulous prize attached. Check it out here. All you have to do is create a piece of art around the theme of wings.

I decided to do something I wouldn't normally do, I wanted to do something different, so I based my canvas on the colour blue, not a favourite of mine at all, but I am pleased with how it's turned out.

I used acrylic dabbers to cover the canvas, aqua and cloudy blue and stream to frame it. I laid out my various pieces, coloured the silver no 2 and the small fragment square (which Caz kindly shared with me and Hilda at our meet last week) with stream alcohol ink, used the dictionary definition of wings in the background, coloured a green admit one ticket with blue paint, scrunched it up and tore it in half, added a couple of paper flowers, an image and quote from Lisa's Altered Art and chalked a wing. I covered the whole piece in bees wax.

This is a side view, all the sides are the same. The pattern is stamped with broken china distress ink.

Tag Swap

These tags are for a swap on Lotstodo forum. I stamped the dragonfly images with the ink pad from my perfect pearls set then added colour with chalks. For the other two, I stamped up lots of images with black stazon. I coloured them using various colours of stazon. I applied the ink with a cut n dry foam pad. I finished by touching up some areas with a white chalk pen

Paperartsy Skinnys Swap

The backgrounds for this set were created by using watercolour card, applying texture paste and gesso on to one of the pieces, then sandwiching the other piece on top. I then waited for them to dry and covered them in various inks. I used stazon, distressed inks and adirondak dye inks. They all gave different effects. I stamped one image direct to the card and the other three I stamped onto white card stock, coloured them with chalks or distressed inks and attached them to the background pieces.

These backgrounds were created using Ranger acrylic paint dabbers and/or Jo Sonja paints. I used gesso on a couple to act as a resist. I then stamped the images directly onto the backgrounds.

These three were created using backgrounds I'd previously made. Top left is my textured alcohol inks background, and I added the image and some direct stamping around the edges. Top left is an acrylic paint sandwich background with the images stamped directly onto the background and the bottom is my leaf style adirondak colour layering background, again the images have been stamped direct using stazon ink.

If anyone in the swap has any preference please let me know as soon as, as they are going in the post tomorrow!!!!

A Few Challenges in One

This piece covers 3 blog challenges this week. The challenge on Crazy Amigo's was Old Timer. The challenge set on Saturday's Workout was Raster Screen and finally Dymo Labeler on 4 x 4 Friday - I am quite pleased with all the elements and how they have come together.

I tore strips of masking tape and stuck them over the white card. I then chalked the whole piece in a couple of shades of orange and peeled the masking tape off to reveal the white lines. I stamped the image onto a separate piece of card using timber brown stazon and chalked the image with a different shade of orange. I positioned it on the 4x4, added some scratch lines with the TH stamp and inked the edges all in timber brown stazon. I then used my dymo labeler to make the words the good old days and stamped them out onto orange tape.

Created By Hand Challenge - Versamark

This weeks blog challenge on Created By Hand was to use Versamark. I stamped my image using my Versamark ink pad. When it had dried, I used cotton wool to apply black chalk all over to create the above fat page which I intend to use in the Lotstodo Swap
