Finished Or Not Friday

Today, in an effort to continue blogging, I’m linking up with “Finished or Not Friday
hosted by Myra of Busy Hands Quilts. Here’s the link.
My favorite blogging app for iPad no longer exists (another story) and I’m having to learn a new app.  For some reason, I can’t get the link attachment to work.

To continue my post:  I’ve joined up with Hands2Help 2018 Charity Quilts hosted by Sara from Confessions of a Fabric Addict (here’s that link:)

And am working on this quilt.

It’s the rail fence pattern. I still need to do the backing and quilting and binding but that should go pretty quickly since it’s a lap size (famous last words).  I love the name of this linky - Finished or Not Friday- since I have a lot of “not finished” projects that would qualify.  Click on the link above to see what others are doing.

That is all.

Needle and Thread Thursday

I want to blog more often. I don’t know why lately it gets away from me so I thought that if I joined a linky group from time to time, it might get me blogging again.  Today I’m linking up with Kelly’s “Needle and Thread Thursday.”    at “My Quilt Infatuation.”   The object is to show a finished work or a WIP. Well, I’ve certainly got lots of WIPs and this long-going project of tiny flowers made by English Paper-Piecing 1/2 inch hexies qualifies as a WIP.

Right now I have 295 flowers sewn together. The project measures  about 45 x 45 inches and I’ve been working on it so long that I can’t even remember when I started.  I blog about it occasionally so I’ll check my old blog posts later and see if I can find when I started this project.  Please click on this link to see what others are posting on Kelly’s blog.

That is all.

Lots of Sewing but not much blogging

I haven’t blogged in a while because I’ve been sewing. I bought a new embroidery machine and a new sewing machine so I’ve been playing.  I’m thoroughly enjoying everything about these new machines except reading the instructions. But, I’ve found that I learn so much more by doing that so....

Another reason I haven’t blogged in so long (since December) is that Blogsy, which I used to write my blogs with iPad, is no longer available in the US. Nevermind that I paid for this app, it’s just gone for US users. I’ve tried several other apps and have not found one that I’m happy with. I’m trying yet another one on this post and will see how that goes.

One of the things I’ve sewed is a charity quilt of the Hands2Help group which Sarah at “Confessions of a Fabric Addict” hosts each year.  There are several charities available on Hands2Help.  Below is the icon and clicking on it may or may not take you to the web page where it’s all explained.  I’m not sure if the link works so if not since I’m still trying to learn how to use this new blogging app. You may need to click on this as well:

The quilt I made is composed of several hand-sewn blocks I found at an estate sale.  The colors weren’t too appealing so I tried to pretty them up with some embroidery after the quilting was done.  There were 8 blocks so I used 6 for the front and 2 for the backing.

These photos came out to the side and I can’t figure out how to center them...
That is all.
