Hexies, Hexies, Everywhere.

Encouraging Words of the Day:

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. - Romans 12:12 (NLT

"One-Flower Wednesday" doesn't describe all the hexie flowers I have to show you. Of course, here are my usual two, one surrounded in leafy fabric and the other plain but bringing my total to 228.

Then, when I arrived back in El Paso after our travels, I found flowers waiting for me from my partners in the "Inchy-Hexagon Flower Swap."

These beauties are from Pat who lives in England and was my partner for May. I love the colors she chose but that fabric with the grapes is "to die for" in real life. Thanks so much, Pat.

Then I had these two flowers in beautiful aqua and pink. The fabric my November 2013 partner Christine chose as the center are perfect for each. Thanks, Christine, they are lovely.

That is all.

One Flower Wednesday on the Way to El Paso

Encouraging Words of the Day:

For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. - Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

We're leaving the Texas Hill Country today, "One-Flower Wednesday." We had a marvelous time, had lovely weather for the most part. On Father's Day weekend we traveled to our youngest son's town of Keller and absolutely had a great time. Now we're on the way back to El Paso. I have a couple of flowers to show you, sewn on the way to Keller.

Total number of flowers posted is now 226. I actually have more since quite a few can be sewn on a 6-hour drive but have only posted 226.

I also have two one-inch flowers sewn for my partner in the "Inchy-Hexagon Flower Swap." She requested flowers in pink, red, and/or cream.

I finished Mama's tablecloth. I made this some time ago but was never pleased with the end-result so I unsewed some of it and re-did it to look like this.

That is all.

One Flower Wednesday in the Texas Hill Country

Encouraging Words of the Day:

"One-Flower Wednesday" finds us getting in the Texas Hill Country. It is beautiful around here since we've had a little rain but it is also HOT! Well, I love the summer best so I'm still enjoying it. Today's flowers are nestled in a beautiful yucca in bloom in our front yard.

Total is 224.

That's it. I've been sewing on a tablecloth for my mom but have not done a lot of sewing since we're mainly hunting feral hogs. My husband got one but I'm still trying...

That is all.

It's Still One Flower Wednesday Somewhere...

Encouraging Words of the Day:
He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. - Psalm 147:3 (NLT
"One-Flower Wednesday" finds us getting busy to drive to the Texas Hill Country. The drive is long but the good thing about it is that I get a lot of hand-sewing done. I always enjoy making hexie flowers but this sewing the green leafy hexies around some of them is boorrriiinnnng. It's all part of the process I guess. Here's what I have to show you this week:
Total is 222. The sewing the leafy part on is messing with my numbers since I used to get 3 flowers done each week.
And surprise, surprise. My Christmas Quilt will be ready in time for Christmas 2014. Here it is!
This is a quilt I started in 2013 with Bea's Sampler Quilt-Along found at BeaQuilter. Thanks Bea, for some wonderful blocks.

Now, the question is: Should I now quilt my "Good-Night, Irene" quilt or start a new project? Hmmmmm, guess I'll take a rest from quilting and work on something new :)

That is all.
