The Plant

I added a new plant to my collection! Now, can you guess what it is? Here is my mysterious clue. It is not common, yet it is common. It can be hard to find.

The Tunnel

Looks kind of like a dark scary tunnel, you think?

But it's just our Simba sunbathing behind the drapes on the windowsill. Tunnels aren't tunnels unless there is a light somewhere at the end.

The Sun, The Moon, & The Stars

I've been sick with something like a stomach virus, fever and chills. So I had to postpone the eye doctor appointment. Now he can't see me till late December! Anyway, I loved this door decoration we drove by.

The sun, the moon and the stars would have disappeared long ago... had they happened to be within the reach of predatory human hands.

The Eyes Have It

I will not be visiting blogs today. I have an eye doctor apointment out of town, so my eyes will be dialated. Meanwhile, enjoy this rainbow we saw in front of The Blue Ridge Mountains. I had almost no time to snap before it totally dissapeared.

“When the rainbow appears in the cloud, I’ll see it and remember the eternal covenant between God and everything living, every last living creature on Earth.”

They Are Back!

Our old friends, the Helmeted Guinea Fowl are back! I hadn't seen them in over a year, and figured they had either run away from their owners or been sold. So I got a happy surprise when we passed this field today!

There were only two of them, but the rest could not be far behind.

See the cute little red flaps by their ears?

They got pretty flustered when we drove closer, flapping their wings and such. So we left them in peace.

The guinea fowl is foremost a symbol of protection and motherhood. This is due to the fierce courage that the guinea fowl exhibits as a guard animal, and the gentle care with which these birds tend to their flocks.

Paranormal

Yesterday evening was lovely. There were sun rays in the sky as the evening was ending.

Then I saw a giant bird in the sky.

Or WAS it a bird?

No, it was a Paraglider!

At times, the birds glided alongside it.

Then it swung down below the mountains and was gone.

“I take the paraglider to the mountain or I roll Daisy out of her hangar and I pick the prettiest part of the sky and I melt into the wing and then into the air, till I'm just soul on a sunbeam.”

I Always Feel Like Someone Is Watching Me

Sitting in the Wal-Mart parking lot last week, I had the unshakeable feeling that I was being watched. What IS that across the lot, anyway?

Getting my camera out, I zoomed in on it.

WHAT? A sloth, of all things!

No, I am not being paranoid. Remember just a month ago, when I posted that The Queen Of England was following me?

Hmmm, now I am wondering what could possibly be the connection between the Queen and a sloth. Was the universe trying to tell me something?

Sunday Sunset

This evening's sunset. For some reason, it reminds me of a watercolor scene.

Can you see the mountains in the distance?

Again With The Stupid Fence!

We saw this Mom & babies across from the pond, eating browse. Too bad the dumb fence was in the way AGAIN! Seems like if it's not a fence, then it is wires or trees.

August Glory

There was a full super moon last week, and I caught it on a cloudless night! Come watch it with me as it rises.

The moon puts on an elegant show, different every time in shape, color and nuance.
